Hi @DianaVerry, I happen to be EXTREMELY determined to move to Berlin THiS year as I have really wanted to for years. I've actually been to Deutschland twice so far and know for sure that I am definitely ready to move there THIS year. I first went on a family vacation to Frankfurt with my mom, dad, brother and sister for five days during my summer break between second and third grade because before I was born my mom had done one term in the #USAirForce and that is the city where the Air Force Base she was staniod at. Not only was she there in Deutschland during her time in the Air Force, I also believe that her last name before marrying my dad was Huner which I believe is of German origins and it probably was originally spelled, "Hühner" because of the way it's pronounced. I was hoping you might be able to please help me with some of the questions I have before moving there. In addition to the 5 day trip to Frankfurt when I was young, while I was taking German language classes while in high school I found the opportunity to go to Berlin and spend three weeks as an exchange student there and since in two of the years before I went to Berlin we had hosted an exchange student for three weeks at a time in our house here in Aurora, Colorado and when I went to Berlin I spent my time there with one the German students my age who we had already hosted at our house. I am still facebook friends with one of the two German guy my age who had hosted at our house. So long story short, I would REALLY love it if you could please contact me with any tips or advice on me moving there. I also happen to have paid $199 for the lifetime subscription to the Rosetta Stone program and constantly am listening to German music on Pandora or great music videos of theirs that I listen to every day. I especially love Musik von #Namika und #Ayliva, und auch liebe rap Musik von vielen Rappern wie #FaridBang, #KontraK, #Bushido, #Sido, und vieles mehr. I'm glad you feel comfortable in Germany. A couple of years ago I lived in Canada shortly and moved back to Germany. Meanwhile I appreciate Europe in general more again. My girlfriend from México will also move here soon.

Or mention the payed " Ausbildung" were you get a dual, theoretic and practic training and great oppertunities after getting your Qualification (Gesellenbrief). And a better payment than most of the people with a university degree. Not meant offended just would point it out as an additional Information.

Most people with a decent vocational training AND long experience of work history earn 3k-4k a month before tax and social secutity which leaves you with 2k or 2,5k net. At best. You are expected to work hard for your money without much appretiation, if any. If you lose your job after 1 year you will be in Bürgergeld which means you get mixed with people who are on social security. This is especially fucked up. Income of your spouse or partner will be considered in so you might get nothing at all. Social security will not be paid if you live abroad.
14 millions are foreigners, 25 millions have foreign roots. This is not considering 12-14 millions of ethnic Germans who came from former eastern parts of the German Reich or Eastern Europe before 1950.

@joshmorgantech I think after a little time you'll pick up German. English is actually a Germanic language and there are similarities. For me at least the best and easiest way to learn another language is to be surrounded by people speaking that other language with a few who speak both to help you along. @@francodenobili7654 you are correct. I grew up in Germany. We went to sporting events, concerts, festivals, museums, adventures, hikes, you name it. We then moved to the USA, parents worked all the time. My father got sick, couldn’t afford medical care. Eventually went back to Germany and diagnosed with terminal cancer. Died after 1 year. We found ourselves 1 income down, and almost homeless, and hungry. Since then, I have grown up, started a family, and worked 70 hours per week. No vacations, no adventures, no sporting events, no hikes, no festivals, no concerts, no museums. So either I forgot how to live, or I was programmed into working myself into the grave. What I do know, is that cost of living is at least twice in Germany as it is here in the US. Sure, quality of life is twice in Germany than what it is in the USA. Many Germans can tell you, it’s great that the quality of life is high, but many today cannot afford to live.
@@philh8829 Well, I was born and raised in Germany and in 1991 I moved to the US and lived there 18 years. But just upon my return I realized in how many ways Germany beats the US by miles. But I have to say I did love my time there - no dought. And your point on cost of living being cheaper in the US is not true anymore . Back then when I lived there it was cheaper in the US. But know it is cheaper in Germany. Much cheaper - that's why it's worth it getting paid less. A few examples my mobil phone plan is 13.99€ a month - unlimited calls, sms and in all EU member states no roaming charge. Food is not just quality wise much much better but cheaper too. Meanwhile I buy a fridge , washer or dryer , Tv etc as cheap or cheaper here. Rent ist ( most times ) cheaper here . In many PLACES you do not need a car which is a big cost factor. Flights are cheaper here. And so on. Best wishes for you and your family.

And yes , of course it is not perfect here ( perfect, or close to it, is what one makes out of all the little things , anywhere, not just here ) , but there are for sure 180 ( or more ) countries where the requirements for a fairly happy life are much worse than here in Germany.
