I have plans to move to Germany next year and I've been watching your videos! You entertained me a lot and learned quite a lot of things. More power on your vlog, Erica!
Hei, thank you for all the love and support! The person replying to every comment with a newsletter and a reward isnt me, it s a scam. :( I will try to remove and report them And I DO NOT watch ben shapiro, it was just a reaction to his clip from a podcast.
Been to Germany 7 times and yes the rules will surprise anyone from other parts of Europe. I find it very easy to get contact with Germans in Germany or in Spain, so I always end up drinking schnapps and beer with them :) I find Germany very effective and that it has the biggest selection when it comes to almost anything in Europe. Had no idea about these rules for foreigners living and working there, so thank you for that..! :)
Thanks for sharing your honest experience Erika, I hope things will get better soon with work. We, the peanut army, are here to support you and your amazing content!
I'm so sorry you had a lot of difficulties, I've been there myself. But you will have tons more experiences and good memories all the heavy stuff will go away. Don't let it spoil your expectations for anything. Just move forward. I can't wait to see whatever you post. You're incredibly fun and informative to watch and I support you in whatever you do.
Honestly, thank you for this video. I'm also exactly 1 year in Germany (came from Ukraine in March 2022), but I follow the route of learning German first, which means Deutschkurs 4 days a week for 4 hours (+ an hour of commute and 2 hours of Hausaufgaben). And I was feeling quite disheartened because I still didn't find a job with my primary specialty (I'm learning for my B2 exam now). So it's nice to see that the struggle is real for all of us Zuwanderers. Love your videos! I see Köln in your Christmas video btw -- the Weinachtsmarkt game is real here for sure.
Looking into the DAAD program myself but from a below average academic background with almost no experience to speak of. Might have to settle for a situation similar to Erika but also get an Internship as well so I'm not stuck with the part-time job in the long term.
Hey Erica, I know you have the potential to be one of the finest content creators in RUclips.. Really enjoy the way you structure the whole video making it look organized and cute at the same time . All the very best in your career ..
Hej back!!! I used to work at ikea so I know what hej means. I saw your makeover video on your apartment because that’s what I mainly watched were makeovers. I still love your pink daisy painting and I just noticed your curtains. I love them. I’m going to watch your Christmas market video because I also love Christmas and their German markets interest me. As an American I have never heard of this until last year when I started watching this German couple on RUclips visit these beautiful air BnB in Britain. Brits know how to do interiors. Us southern folk just copy them. ❤❤❤ anyway I hadn’t heard much of your uploaded material until now. I thought you stopped making videos. I really like your speech pattern it’s very soothing. It makes your material more aesthetically interesting. It’s like watching a Wes Anderson film. Good job! 😊
Very inspiring for me especially because was lost badly in my life watching this video really inspires me to go to different places and added one new option to explore n maybe to settle down in.
I love your videos, they always bring joy to my day whenever I watch them! I'm looking forward to see your next adventures. And I hope you're doing well, maybe it was just my impression but you seemed a tad bit sad in this video. Sending lots of love🥰
this was very very useful. thank you so much. I am looking for a good country in europe to study and work at, so this is great. Thank you so much. Hopefully I am lucky enough to move to a good one by next year
Sorry to hear it didn't go so well for you . Hopefully it soon gets better. I wish you the best. Greetings from Paraguay, Southamerica. P.D. I love your content.
I'm British living in Germany since 2019 and I've had the exact same experiences as you with work. I'm starting to think this is the way Germany treats foreign employees in hospitality (as well as Germany's customer service just not being great). I've worked in a couple of hospitality establishments (cafes, hotels) and they've all been a bad experience. I also became a freelancer recently and agree the beaurocracy is so unnecessarily complicated, and should be in English because it's confusing.
What do expect? Germany is the country of Germans who happen to speak English! Try to get around in the UK without knowing the language! So better climb down from your high horse!
@@dagmarvandoren9364 I do speak German when I'm in Germany. I've had up to level C1 lessons. But government websites should at least have an English version (in addition to the German version) for those who have come to Germany with little to no German skills.
"sometimes incovenient to use" is a very kind way of putting it...most germans will be far more outspoken about their experience using deutsche bahn. i always have to laugh when people think trains in germany run on time or are efficient. the simple act of buying the right ticket can be ridiculously complicated. and you better plan in some extra time for delays.
Really enjoy your videos and how direct you are about stuff people may need to know when moving to another country. I'm learning German currently and plan on saving enough to take that big step forward into moving to Deutschland. 🎉🎉🎉
I hope the freelancing life suits you well! It's good that you keep trying things, and don't settle with something you don't fully love. Best of luck, the peanut army will be cheering on!
Erika hi! Thank you for your videos! They are very honest, sincere and calm. I love your vibe :) Soon I’m gonna relocate to Berlin 😊 I’ll go to watch your video about Berlin 😇 Have a sunny and lucky day! ☀️🍀
Well, this is one of the best videos from you so far. Love it. So sorry that you had that not so pretty work experience, but thats why mama and papa told you to study hard (which you did)😊 so you dont end up in such conditions for whole life and have a decent career. All will be good, every one goes through this, just go easy with that german pastry😂
Omg Erika, I had the same problems in South Korea, I also worked in service industry and I found it a bit uncomfortable, they also don’t pay for health insurance I was trying to find a job there but again they needed experience more that 2 years and language. I hope everything will be fine and you could do what you like and get paid for this! 🥰
Very honest video, have you thought about moving to the NL yet? Since you also studied there? Btw you should visit The Czech Republic one day, I would like to welcome you here :))
I think you were just very unlucky. I have worked at 4 different places and they always transferred my money in full onto my card (taxes were deducted including health insurance), we had an app where we could check when we work for the next 3 weeks and whom we worked with in all jobs, pay always came in time.... I did work for bigger companies though like REWE and Rossmann. So their internal processes are more streamlined I guess. Only time I was paid in cash was when I worked as a hostess on an exhibition. That was a mini job though (so not taxed).
It seems that you’ve been through some good and a lot of bad, but you still seem to make excellent content in your videos. I hope you keep it up, you have a very enjoyable sense of humor. I sadly see you’re no longer in Germany, but would suggest that you might see if others doing content would like to collaborate with you on making a video. Anyway, I hope to see more new content by you.
Sister, can you tell us about apartments in Germany for one person or two people, like how's the cost and where it'll be convenient to live with cheap apartments?
