Few things are as enjoyable as rocking out through a dimed guitar amplifier, and thanks to its FET-based circuitry, the JHS PG-14 delivers that exact sensation. Designed to the exact specifications of guitar virtuoso Paul Gilbert (Racer X and Mr. Big), the PG-14 gives you a stadium-level experience - the touch, feel, and response of a pushed tube amplifier - at manageable volumes. The PG-14 gives you a bevy of sound-shaping controls, but this distortion stompbox’s crown jewel is its active mid-frequency preamp.

that parametric mid preamp is so mind blowingly powerful man, the range is ridiculous. with push on max i haven't played anything more satisfying than the PG-14, being able to hear it completely fall apart and fold over like an amp that's on fire, all from a little pedal, then you can scoop all the mids out just the way you like it no matter what you're running it into...it negates the necessity to mod anything, having the capability to sweep it to preference, so versatile.

  • @jasonfarr7140

Yes yes yes! That is the best- clarity with some cojones. I think the only way may be pure amp tube/and or speaker overdrive, and things like the Swart "Nightlight" can provide that affordably today, meaning it doesn't cost more than your actual amp, unlike some other devices.

Josh Scott sharing a room with PG's skills.. he stuck to flippant sarcasm well, like a cat clinging to a ledge above water, or a fear grimace to escape danger. Well done, Josh.

I just can't get enough of watching PG!! I wasn't always a fan but as I was researching the Dimarzio Air Classics, I am blown away by his knowledge, playing and super cool personality. It's opened a new door for learning and an appreciation for tasteful phrasing and tone. The pedal sounds Amazing !!

There are some fun and quirky duo's here in guitar land. First we get Greg Koch and Ken Haas (of Reverend), almost 100% the same person. And now these two. Love it!
