- In this quick video, Brandon and I install a cat-back Borla exhaust on his Gen 2 Toyota Tacoma, to make it sounds as sick as it looks!!! Started out stock, what do you think of the end result?! We love it! Not too loud on the highway, so good for cruising to our overlanding spots, but also aggressive enough that it matches the new look of the truck!!

Exactly what I was thinking!! We're going to be doing a lot of highway driving in Texas to get to our overlanding locations, so definitely didn't want something obnoxious but wanted an aggressive sound!!! Thank you!

A lift is so handy.
Before it sounded like a fan after it still sounds like a fan unfortunately if you want a nice "V8" rumble with a V6 gotta give her the good ole straight pipe no cats no mufflers yes it sounds horrible at highway speeds but low speeds and causal driving really can't beat it and idle sounds so good especially on a cold start

Mine had this exhaust when i bought it. I kinda think it sounds like a vacuum cleaner but it does lowkey sound decent.

The old muffler sounded like it was internally falling apart. Do a cut away ! New system sounds awesome 👌
I have those same wheels on my Tacoma I love them, definitely need to get this catback I feel like it’s louder in person but seems mild enough for daily driving
ABSOLUTELY mold enough for daily driving but gives the satisfying ROAR you want to hear when you lay into the throttle. We thought really hard about this one because we wanted the truck to soing good but also here in Texas we do a lot of highway driving to get to some overlanding destinations.

Love those green Ironman springs. I Recommend aftermarket UCA's to get the caster back to max oem spec. Personally went Bilstein UCA's from rockauto, for a few more $$$ the Ironman UCA's look buff. Missed ya at the Oregon Ironman event but love the content! Keep it up!

My lift was actually broken at the time of this video! haha! $2500 later and the darn thing works properly again. But thanks for assuming that I don't know why I have one!!
My girl is gonna build my next car for me including welding an aluminium chassis. She could learn a lot from you.

Lol Actually this lift is freaking awesome!! I just had it serviced and the professionals that came out were saying how all the new ones that are made currently aren't as good as these old ones and it's best to keep these alive for as long as possible!!

Heck yeah, you're gonna be so happy with it - it actually makes the truck sound like a truck should! And not annoying or drone-y on the highway at all. Every time we drive the truck we talk about how much we love the exhaust upgrade haha!! With the 2 of us we got this job done in half an hour, an extra set of hands is always nice to help hold it in place and snake it into location, but could also be done solo! Excited for you!!!

where the hell is the cat converter? the exhaust on the tacoma terminates to just that one pipe, yeah, but where's the cat? or do you live somewhere where you can get away with that.. here in california, required for pass smog every 2 years =/

Maybe its the trucker in me, but I feel like you should get some wider mudflaps. I had to put some longer and wider ones on my dodge to keep the steers from throwing rocks at my doors, and I think they look great

If i were to install this on my 08 taco, would I have to get it dyno tuned? Do aftermarket exhausts mess with the trucks computer and fuel output or something? Just something i heard. Thanks

Haha yeah she's pretty bummed I put her second this summer for this build!! The wheels are Black Rhino "Armory" and that's a REALLY GOOD IDEA!!! I need to make a build sheet!!!!

What do you think of the 4 liter? Im a 3.4 guy or 22r/re. I know 3.4 first gen tacomas are pretty much non existent due to the rusty frame deal. Just curious what another Toyota person like yourself thinks?
