I've been drinking apple+carrots and apple+spinach after recently picking up a juicer, both make excellent juices. Just tried out apple+carrot+spinach (variant on your Popeye) which is even better than both of those two, thanks for the juicing tips. Will commit to trying your other two recipes.
Thanks man. I'm an older viewer looking to address quite a few years of neglect. Your videos have been great for a total beginner like me. Better nutritional choices are next so this video is very interesting. Do you have any recommend videos for tall slim guys? I dont have weight issues but I have a very weak upperbody.

@@MinusTheGym Since the pulp still has some juice in it I add flour , spices , some sugar not much and make fritters sometimes I fry other times I bake in an air- fryer .
Just bought a juicer as I love carrot juice, thanks for the recipes! Only downside I think will be the sugar / calories. One glass looks about 120 calories which is a bit of a shame when trying to maintain a caloric deficit. Worth it for the nutrients I suppose 🤷♂️
How many ounces do you recommend for a daily drink? Or do you recommend every two days drinking 8oz. I’ve been told that too much carrot can be bad for the heart . I love juicing but want to drink accordingly. I have bad eyesight but don’t want to overdue it . Thank you. Love your videos
The woman who improved her eyesight with carrot juice and no longer needed her reading glasses said she drank about a quart per day, every day. And her health only improved. No issues from it. So that’s quite a lot of carrots. I typically eat a few carrots per day at minimum, or I juice about 8-12 carrots and I’m totally fine. No heart issues I’m aware of.
I buy a juicer, and I start making carrot juice to drink it's so nice powerful drink..,Thanks for the wonderful information about carrot juice sir. God Bless You☝️🙏
awesome videos man. keep up coming. question for you: what are your recommendations on juicers/ blenders? Should I go for a juicer or a blender or both? And recommendations on each of them if possible. Thanks.
I have and recommend both, but I know they’re expensive so I totally understand if someone’s reluctant to buy both. They each serve a unique purpose. For my blender I have a Vitamix Professional and use it for smoothies, sauces, dressings and even soups sometimes. It also doubles as a food processor when I need to grind up nuts/seeds or oats into a powder for a recipe. Smoothies differ from juices because they contain the fiber and are way more filling. You can also add protein powder to them to make a great post workout shake. So that’s what blenders are mainly used for. On the other hand, my juicer is a Nama Vitality 5800. It’s a slow masticating juicer and I use it strictly for fruit and vegetable juice. Juice is less filling than a smoothie because it contains no fiber, plus I typically juice veggies which are really low in calories, so the juice is more like a snack. I kind of view juicing as taking a natural multivitamin or medicine, while smoothies are a meal replacement. I hope that info helps!
I started drinking carrot juice because my legs started hurting. So I looked at a Bunny Rabbit and noticed that they had strong legs, and I believed that it was because they ate so many carrots so they can hop all day.
Carrots have been proven gd for eyesight. I did juicing for years now, my eye power drop from 500 to 200. Now i don't put on thick glasses anymore. But have to be consistent.
Hey Ryan! I've been watching your videos for quite some time now and was wondering if you already made a video about hamstring injuries and how to strengthen your hamstrings to prevent injuries. Would be cool to hear back from you. : )
Yes but you’d have to run the resulting smoothie through a sieve or cheesecloth type of filter so you can remove all the fiber and make it pure juice. I’ve never made these recipes as a smoothie so I’m not sure how they’d turn out if you don’t filter them.
I just wanted to look up some variations of carrot juice and stumbled upon your recipes. All are awesome and i should be trying tomorrow hence. One question though, does it always work best as a morning (empty stomach) drink or later at breakfast or anytime of the day? Thanks a lot. Lovely recipes.
Hope you enjoy the recipes! And yeah, it’s true that drinking juice on an empty stomach will yield better absorption in your body and the nutrients will reach your organs faster, but the truth is that drinking juice at any time of day is beneficial. So, if you want to optimize a healing process? Try to drink your juice fasted. But if you’re just looking to boost your general health, then drink it any time :)
@@MinusTheGym super! Thank you. I shall start by making it my first drink. I mostly drink a lot of water after i wake up, will adjust that a bit and see how my body responds say over a week. Thank you so much Ryan. Helpful
I suppose it could be true. I imagine there are some nutrients that can lower the potency of beta-carotene and other micronutrients when mixed. But you don’t have to worry about that with juicing. I often make carrot juice recipes where I’m putting 10 or 12 carrots through the juicer. A little nutrient loss would be fine when you think about the sheer number of carrots being consumed. But if you’re still concerned about it, straight up carrot juice is pretty tasty 😊
Hi Ryan, thank you for the video! How does the nutritional content change with how the body responds to the juice when we mix the fruits/vegetables vs just carrot (or any type of singular vegetable) by itself? Peace brotha!
It doesn’t really matter if you mix different fruits and vegetables from an absorption perspective. You’ll still get all the amazing micronutrient goodness from everything you’re juicing. The only reasons why you would not want to mix fruits/veggies is to optimize the amount of carrots (or whatever veggie) you’re trying to get more of in your body. Fruit is way more calorie dense than vegetables, so by adding fruit you’re going to get more calories and leave less room in your glass for the carrots. Hope that makes sense!
Organic is preferred, but conventional will do too. The trace pesticide residue in conventional produce isn’t as harmful as people think because the sheer volume of antioxidants in the food.
I’ve heard of people blending the carrots and then running it all through a cheese cloth or nut milk bag to filter out the fiber and extract the juice. But if you don’t filter it, I think it’ll be too thick and won’t be drinkable (I’ve personally never tried it though)
Really enjoy the content on your channel. Ive nit used juicer in ages so going to try all of these thanks! Do you have any suggestions for homemade post workout drinks that have the right balance of carb/protein? Protein Powders are costing me a small fortune!
Endo nice! Glad you’ll try juicing again. And for a post workout, you want to replenish glycogen from carbohydrate (about 100 g) and also get plenty of protein (at least 30 g) if you want to really kickstart your recovery. So whenever people ask, I like recommending this protein smoothie I learned from bodybuilder Derek Tresize: 1/4 cup raw hulled pumpkin seeds 1 cup soy milk 1 cup water 1 banana 1 can canellini beans, rinsed cocoa powder to taste (optional) That delivers 116 g carbs, 43 g protein and about 16g fat (784 calories). Derek’s known to add a scoop of protein powder as well to kick it up to over 60 G protein, but that’s overkill if you ask me :) Buy the canellini beans dry and cook up a big batch for the week to save money. It’s cheaper than buying a bunch of cans.
Be careful with it. Keep an eye on your blood glucose levels. You might need to stick to green vegetables with less sugar. Everyone’s different so it’s a matter of careful experimentation.
Fructose stimulates only modest insulin secretion and does not require the presence of insulin to enter cells. Do not fear the fructose in fruits and vegetables. It is the sugar our bodies crave and need.
You’d think so, but it actually helps blood sugar levels. John Rose, who has been treating people with juice fasting for decades, has seen reversal of type 2 diabetes from juice fasting in many of his clients. There are also lots of credible health blogs recommending green juice every morning for diabetics. And there are also studies in endocrinology that show fresh raw juice doesn’t have any significant effect on fasting blood glucose, insulin or insulin resistance. So it’s quite an interesting topic. Fresh juice doesn’t effect glucose levels like you’d expect.
Vitamin A is fat soluble so to get the vitamin A you need to consume it with a healthy fat like XVOOil or tallow or ghee. Is that right? Or am I misinformed?
Fat soluble means it’s stored in the liver and fatty tissues, but it doesn’t mean you must consume it with fat. It’ll also be stored longer in your body in comparison to water soluble vitamins like vitamin C.
Right. That is if the individual absorbs the nutrients. After all plants have a lower bioavailability than other foods. I’m more of a whole foods kind of person. I don’t advocate the processing of good quality whole foods. Removing the fibre is exactly what the food processing industry does so if you want to be exactly like the food processing industry juice away. Or just eat the whole carrot.
As a former juicer I would like to suggest smoothies as a superior alternative to juicing. Juicing removes all the fiber which is so important to our gut health and motility. Smoothies are easier and quicker to prepare and you don't have to clean the filter/screen afterward. All you need is a Vitamix or other high powered blender. You can adjust the consistency of the smoothie by how much you blend it. These recipes are excellent, maybe just add a few more fresh, bitter greens! (Arugula, watercress, dandelion)
Fresh juices and smoothies have different purposes. For example, sometimes juice is needed without the fiber for a different purpose. Specific example: Juicing lettuce and apples pushes my feces out smoothly while a salad and a smoothie don't.
True and smoothies are definitely better, but juices have a place in a healthy diet for sure, they’ve been shown to be very healthy, healing, and immune boosting.
