Fresh, because we grow them during the winter in a heated greenhouse; although they winter over EXTREMELY well outside. Depending on how big the carrot is, i put a part of it in my salad and the rest in my smoothie which is a mix of buttermilk, frozen kale, ginger, turmeric, olive oil, lemon juice, parsley sprigs and cuttings from green celery, especially the lower part which are very fivrous. And before i drink a glas of it i add 1 tbsp of ACV.

    I never gave up carrots when I began keto four years ago. I like them far, far too much to give up. They, along with cauliflower and broccoli, steamed and then drizzled with Kerrygold butter----oh, man, that right there is a fabulous meal when I put it in a bowl along with buttered, tender stew beef. I love raw carrots, but my dentist told me not to eat whole ones due to one oddball tooth at the front that has an odd hole above it (not quite in the roof of my mouth, but directly under that). The filling is so fragile, something like biting into a carrot or anything that requires significant bite strength will shatter it.
    But steamed carrot is just fine with me! I do eat raw shredded carrots, though. Just love that earthy taste. Made my mother so happy that at least one of her children grew up loving veggies as much as she did (Dad hated them, but ate them because he understood their health value....and to keep Mom from telling him repeatedly that he needed to set a good example for the four of us 😁).

    So, I'll try and keep it short and summarized but, we'll see. Two years ago I had SIBO a very serious infection in the small intestine. After 7 ER visits and Doctor's insane advice/plus mis diagnosis.. I took matters in my own hands. After reading about the infection and dealing with Acute Gastritis on top of that. I removed all yeast, all sugar, all processed foods. The bacteria feeds off of sugar, hijacks your nutrients etc. Makes you feel very sick, and full of anxiety induced episodes. I ate nothing but fermented foods, and grass fed grass finished protein. And a cup of jasmine rice a day. 3 pieces of alaskan sokeye salmon a week. And alot of fruit and veggies daily. They doctor told me without a biofilm the bugs would just create a barrier and protect themselves. Well i removed them with a fermented diet and alot of blended fresh herbs in my daily diet. Thyme, Rosemary, Oregano Oil, Basil, Parsley, Extra Virgin Olive Oil.. on top of Aloe gel from the plant. I'm a big believer in nutrient dense foods like organ meats and herbs in every meal. Was wondering if you could do a video of alkaline foods vs acidic foods and what ph water is best for your system and why. I only drink 7.0 + alkaline water and cook with a reverse osmosis water sys. And see huge benefits. But maybe its my diet as well. Anyways love the content. And sharing my brief story with you.. Take care!

      Are your sibo symptoms gone?

    • @eve_of_the_end
      @eve_of_the_end Год назад +2

      @@CalmVibesVee Yes, it took roughly a year to remove them with just a heavy diet based around protein and blended herbs.. See SIBO can give you alot of problems. One is def food intolerences. I had to be very careful of ingesting yeast, sugars, starches, etc. Carb intake was very low. The reason I didn't take the biofilms is the sickness around them and I just dont like taking pills of any kind. I had a functional gut health doctor give me a protocol i already had once i did the research myself.. Basically, i had bananas, aloe vera gel from the plant to help coat the stomach lining, egg yolks, with fresh parsley, and oregano oil.. And drinking 3 ounces of goat milk kefir a day. I cut out all bread and cheeses.. No nightshade vegetables of any kind.. Only fruits and vegetables with a high water ratio. Like squash and cabbage. Papaya, some berries. It was a very strict diet. No seasonings, no gravys, just plain grass fed grass finished meats. Alot of bison hamburger, and steaks., salmon and baked chicken with lots of fresh herbs. I usually baked everything. Nothing fried, and used extra virgin olive oil. On top of oregano oil.. I added high quality jasmine rice because it didn't stir up my symptoms which i thought was odd.. so i put that on the list. Only a cup a day. It was a process of elimination for the first few months, trying things, dealing with the sickness, and moving on.. I almost lost my job due to many callouts so i was put on FMLA. And SIBO will cause some severe anxiety induced episodes. I had to incorporate some form of exercise so i started walking everyday to help combat those feelings.. it was a good idea.. Presently, i haven't had any symptoms, ive added other foods back into my diet. And whats funny is i lost all my sugar cravings and cheese addictions.. I eat zero processed foods and only use fresh ingredients. herbs with every meal. My digestive system works so much better. Very regular and just feel better not eatting alot of toxins. No lectins, very limited plant based foods. Because they cause inflammation, and leaky gut.. It took alot of work to get were im at.. And pretty grateful. Because it taught me to be more aware of my diet and how to care for my body.. but man it was journey..
      Sry for the long post.. 🤦‍♂️

    I’ve been wondering about that and beets. I’ve started intermittent fasting just over 8 weeks ago. 6’2” at 210 now from 225 male 66. When I did 48 or lately a 36 hr fast my ketones got really high like well over 7 almost 8. Glucose early on was 100 ish now 90is and the last fast of 36 it got in the 70s but ketones were way high. I used to be a sugar eater big time. Cakes chocolate ice cream coke carbs. Now healthy keto. Second round of itchy skin. So I’m thinking many toxins to let go of. At some point I’ll be able to fast for longer than 48 or do a 36/12 for a week without the ketones getting so high. I’m putting carrots back in my salads. Maybe kick down the ketones first then do the longer fast.
