Seems like a genuinely good dude, who just loves making music. Great episode.
Word!
humility is teh key I guess ;)
Loved this! So honest and unpretentious, great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really refreshing and inspiring seeing him explain things so simply and that he finds stuff complicated to!
Him & Gerd - magicians of modern electronic music ❤
I love Lauer sooo much. Has been my favorite producer for many years. Anything with his name and alter egos on it goes straight to the shopping basket.
What are his alter egos? Agreed - he’s the don
@@omarmiz he's also part of Tuff City Kids and some other collab...forgot that name though...something like Black Spuma I believe
Love Lauer’s music, wish this was 30 minutes longer!
after spending so much time with complex synths and analog gear, i've come to really appreciate presets too, often times it's about the music itself and not the novelty of the sound. having a few inspiring presets to jump start a project is much better than spending hours desinging a patch and by the time you do you're bored/tired/uninspired.
Even the chair he sits on is vintage! Cool studio.
My fave electronic producer. So cool to see how it's all made.
What a nice bloke! So humble, almost apologetic. Blimey, so glad I stumbled across this episode...
You always find these great producers that are also great people
That chair and carpet though. Everything is pure music!
i'm embarrassed to say this is this first time i've heard his music.. Seems such a lovely guy.. Shout out to Germany.. Heidelberg and Mannheim.. Miss ya!
Give Delta NRG a listen.
One of the best tracks out there.
A studio packed with my childhood dream gear. Some still are. Nice! (That chair though. My back hurts just seeing it. Hmm...)
Minimalism, so he can be more focused on what he is doing. But he was standing most of the time anyway 😉
Fair point. 😄
@@ElectronicBeatsTV His posture and the way everything is set up says otherwise
he's so honest and unpretentious about his equipment. this dude rules!
his chair makes my back hurt just by looking at it lol
Love seeing different studios and approaches to music. This guy's music and studio are awesome, always refreshing to see lots of vintage stuff, especially 80s/90s gear.
Definitely am gonna check out more from him.
Absolutely love Lauer. Never disappoints. Sick studio rack tools as well and you know he makes the most out of it !
Seems such a nice down to earth guy & very passionate about what he does. I saw him play at Opium in Vilnius a couple of years ago, and that was the first time i'd heard of him, blown away. Big respect Lauer!
My favourite producer and he does killer DJ sets too. A great interview. More power to you Lauer!
What a nice chap.
never heard of him BUT WOW do i love his honesty ! fair play fella , looking him up now as this segment has made me interested in him
this guy and his music deserves attention
He’s my favorite of the new guys. Genius

One of my favorite producers today
It's so refreshing to hear melodies.
especially nice ones 😉
I love this episodes, so relaxing!! :)
Legend!
honest and no bs. my kind of dude.
I work excactly like him! - take presets, modify them, tweak with effects, voila! - great and humble guy!
Lauer's the best!!
Cool! Thanks for sharing this Tech Talk. That was interesting! Phillip is a good guy!!! :)
love that guy, and love what he says about presets
He seems like such a nice guy. Would love to spend some time in the studio with him. Keep making great music dude.

This guy is awesome!
The Space Echo!
Cool guy, fun interview, great music
So much lovely gear. Love the video
Similar vibe here. Always using my Model200, AX80, Waldorfs...
Makes you feel like a child in a toyshop, not as someone with a deadline.
Very nice setup, all nice pieces, - listen to this gentleman, NEVER sell anything, - I used to, and i regret 75% of those sales, now i've retired...
- reminds me of the more liberated days within my own 80s - 90s "studio"
- still got my DEP-5 and an RE-301 plus my Lexicon PCMs'
I love his point about synth presets
Humblest person I know!
As we say in German: Tiefststapler!
😊😍🚀

ESQ-1 is a gem
One day I’m featured in Telekom Electronic Beats I swear🤩🤘🏻 I work my ass off for that😎 Greetings from space🥰🖖🏻
Nice music, cool gear. I love German accent. 👍
Loving these intimate studio tours! What's your preamp to you use on synths (06:30)?
Title: Lauer and his love for analog synths
Video: Lauer and his digital synths Sirius, DX7, Samplers 😉
Besides how many analog synths? Erbsenzähler 😬
Now the title is .....vintage synths. Better, Mr. Superlover?
@@ElectronicBeatsTV perfect 👍 😊
@@ElectronicBeatsTV synths in this video:
Analog: 10
Digital: 17
Never challenge the nerds, EB 😅
I feel like the whole point of this guy's approach was not to sweat that kind of thing, to focus on the music. But I get you, dude.
@Fred Bond Synthspotting 😂
Charming, handsome guy 🔻💫
sympathisch isser der Philipp !
Best song from him is Handcuffs on Separee Rec.
Yay :)
Do you know what the black preamp/eq in the rack is? It has the U symbol and says 1073 DX but I can't find it anywhere. Is this the preamp Lauer is talking about?
You just know he built his own pc too. No frills, just music.
Bm5a 🙌
Tannoy ❤️
Hello, can you turn on the caption option?
What a cutie-pie he is!
hello, anyone know wich mixer he has? seems pretty cool
Me and this guy are the same dude.
He is likeable. I would like to make music with him.
Lauer, do us a favour! Keep releasing great music and invest in a proper chair pal!
hello do you have the track list used in the background by any chance?
Whats this balck/yellow/red synth module left side above his computer
Looks like a Studio Electronics Synth
Sorry for necroing this post, but he runs hardware through the mixer and then stereo output to RME?
Meaning he has to record synths 1 by 1 then?
anyone knows what is this brutal dance bass compression?
please !, the name of the background music around @3:00 , HHHHHHHHHAA
What's the track playing towards the beginning. Assume it is one of his
Gammelan
The chair lol 6:16
Classic oldschool
Needs wheels!
Classic German design ❤❤😊😊
Hast du den Holz- Klappstuhl, den ich so im Leben nicht gesehen habe, geoptimized?
sometimes when i feel like a big producer,i record effects on different channel...amen
"I don't really use a lot of outboard gear" ... is literally surrounded by expensive racks of iconic outboard gear lol. I know he meant particularly EQs and compressors but I still found it funny. Nonetheless I dig his music and his unpretentious process! :)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outboard_gear
“I don’t use a lot of outboard effects” *shows dreamy lexicon, eventide, og space echo rack*
😬
First producer guy who I have even actually heard acknowledge verbally, that “cracked software” even exists. I’m pretty certain that today, you’ve pretty much got a choice between moving to Brazil where there’s no legal notion of intellectual property, one might just stay off of the internet and use pirated software, or just pay up for the license and don’t worry about what you’re stealing. Because it’s been a great many years that have seen the evolution of bundles of softwares for all types of multimedia related tasks, there’s been a graveyard full of abandonwares, and softwares that time has forgotten, no longer supported and running on operating systems that have all but disappeared. There’s even been a ton of hardware that’s dubbed obsolete for its lack of currently supported softwares, and the newer software doesn’t support it either. For a few other reasons too, I believe that an attitude of forgiveness and forgetfulness is sort of inescapable by software developers and corporate entities in that type of setting. So my advice about the piracy is do it by getting the older gear and older systems and older softwares, and its pretty much legal. Very cool guy, and lucky to come up on so much outboard gear!! THANKS FOR SHARING!!!

Lets do a gofundme to get this guy a proper chair
That’s part of the magic
