Totally 100% agree. Vibe is king. If the mix is a little untidy but the vibe is there and you get emotion from it then its a good thing. I cant count the amount of times I've tried to tidy up a mix that had bags of vibe and energy only to lose all feeling once it was polished to death. If it sounds right then it is right. Music should be full of little mistakes and imperfections. The art is knowing which ones to keep. Trusting your instincts is a learned skill. Its taken me 20 years. I've finally put out an ep last friday with great reviews. Keep at it.
I absolutely love and adore this man and his music. My routine is to get home after a long day at work, whack on my beats headphones and then plunging into the wonderfully and heavenly world of John Tejada. He must live long and prosper and never stop producing such gorgeous music 🎶
@@toraimanchester4658 Did you watch the same video? I mean, he might believe he is the King of the Universe. But in the video at least, he is very very humble.
04:24: Once I was taught this, it completely changed my mixes from something of an immense struggle to something far, far easier. This really is the key.
His sentiment at the end about perfection, is difficult to quantify because it’s extremely subjective for better or worse. I would like to hear him elaborate on it further though. 1st and 2nd tunes in the video are top notch!
I've hit the same wall so many times, adding plugins and tweaking them for an hour…then bypass them and it sounds better. So easy to hyperfocus on the wrong details.
Very nice tactile rig. And I totally agree about your mix attitude” a lot less is more . “ so for you like me is that work flow as unintrusive as it is for me ? Does it work? For you as a real peace of equipment in a Pro session? Do you utilize iOS daws as well since you like to use multiple daws on so called real computer platforms, or are you open to the iPad Pro for full on go to choice ? Peace Christo 👽🐕🛸
Thanks for this video! I like his idea on ease of use in the studio. So important to be able to sit down and create. Anyone know the track title around 3:40? So groovy
“Vibe is much more important than perfection”

But where does it show in his music? It sounds pretty polished to me..
Watching it and now want to re-listen all Tejada's bangers.
He is very talented and one of the most iconic producers for me.
"Perfection actually is boring"
What an incredibly cool dude. I've always liked his music

I have Tejada releases on 12 that I've collected since the late 90s. Can't really say that about many other producers. Longevity like this is rare.
His music is sublime. Great producer
I like how humble he is.
is this some sort of joke? 😂
@@toraimanchester4658 not at all. John is a very humble guy for all the talent he has. He's earned his success.
@@rhythmdroid *I totally agree with you, JT made it many times ^^ !! Greetings from France!!*

Master at Work 💪♥️Thank You John Tejada& Electronic Beats✨✨✨
His last few albums on Kompakt have all been amazing.

What a cool studio and down to earth guy 👏🏽

It’s crazy that it the same chord permanent as his track “Sucre” also on palette records.
Legend upmost respect for John.

First Class Producer and Sound

Uff, having a track almost complete then change a sound. Uffff. Changes the whole thing. def hard.
for me, his best releases are on his alias Autodidact & Lucid Dream in late 90s
Hell yeah! Those Lucid Dream records are super deep.

Top dude, great pearls of studio and creative wisdom, loved this upload
Would love to see him work in Renoise!
me too, absolutely. would be interesting if it's samples only or if he uses outboard gear.
What a wise guy. Wonderful
I hope that creation you playing with a round 5.20 min, is coming out anytime soon :D Great guy and great inspiration! Peace!
8:00 anyone ID that last track?
I still do most of my sampling on an MPC2000xl with one 512MB CF card, pretty much solves the "too many samples" problem.
His music sounds as cleaned up as his studio but in a nice way.
I've hit the same wall so many times, adding plugins and tweaking them for an hour…then bypass them and it sounds better. So easy to hyperfocus on the wrong details.
