Every time I see Reggie Watts I love him more and more. Dude is a modern genius with superb taste in music.
Tejada is a techno tank. Reggie is the alt-comedy golden child. The most unexpected and underrated duo ever.
I't so inspiring to see a man like Reggie, paying tribute to bands that has nothing to do with each other, I never thought a guy like him would appreciate that Ministry album for example. big respect for him!
Love how Reggie describes/talks about Soundgarden. Great picks from these guys.
that was amazing what Reggie said about Soundgarden & Nirvana. And tragically true what he said about we''ll never see the likes of that again
Lifeforms was a huge part of the soundtrack of my teens. Definitely explored some fantastic worlds listening to that one. The 90s weren’t nearly as bad as many people say.
Thank you Amoeba!!! Love Reggie
ahhh im so glad reggie like soundgarden and nirvana thats awesome and bjork too damn knew i liked him for a reason
And Ministry!!
Excellent choices from both gentlemen. Reggie Watts is a straight up genius!
Damn, I think this is the best one I've seen...both of them picked interesting ass music!! Esp Reggie, the more I learn about him, the kooler he is!
That was my first and still my favourite Cannonball record - love it
I love when a majority of the albums they have, are my all time favs. Yes, the abstract mind space is important !!!
I love Reggie! His taste in music...love
Iove him too.
Reggie is so cool and well spoken! really interesting to hear him tell about those records!
Great picks! Lot to digest. Not the least of which is Wajatta themselves!! Really great record!! 'Make some sense' is a freakin JAM!
Reggie's love for punk rock gives me goosebumps!
Best show on RUclips? Maybe. This is a great episode!
Wow! main source, future sound of London will check out these guys great taste.
Reggie is such a great musician that his vocal drumming fits fucking perfectly with the track he is describing. Unbelievable
Love that Jan Jelinek album
Tejada surprised me with that main source repress...
That album changed hiphop(as a whole) when it came out....definitely a highly respected classic in the true hiphop head community.
Neon Indian is flipping amazing:D and i will watch out their other picks
Great picks by both guys. FSOL is underrated af, Dead Cities is one of my all time favourite albums. Neon Indian is excellent as well.
SARAH VAUGHAN!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO MENTION HER
Very interesting indeed. Thumbs up.
Parking next to a grain elevator, drinking Robatussin and listening to the Smiths is the most Montana thing ever.
Ameoba, it’s about damn time!
Badmotorfinger changed my life as well. Matt Cameron is a real treasure:)
6:32 is such a perfect impression of Einar from The Sugarcubes.
Ahhhhhhhh love that Smiths album - have it on a purplygrey German eighties pressing- Listening to Pixies RN - so many good things
Fascinating
3:49 2 Montana 2 Furious
reggie is doooooooooope
I love you amoeba for doing this
Hey thanks! We love both these guys and have wanted them on the show for some time. It was lucky they were working together and had some time for us.
Both great tastes
I love that FSOL record! I really thought The Isness was pretty great too... such a departure but quite a great ride
FSOL choices on Lifeforms ... top taste man :) Dead Cities and ISDN also awesome.
that jan jelinek album is really good. its on his bandcamp fyi
I had a feeling Reggie liked heavy stuff too. Interesting picks. Back when Ministry was decent.
Cool guys, interesting speech...
didn't know Reggie was doin' some new shit
Thanks, Amoeba!
Sweet taste from a true LA underdog: Mr. John Tejada.
I knew I could count on him to rep some true electronic music: Jelinek/Farben, FSOL, DJ Pierre/Phortune, Plaid. Damn fuckin straight. Reggie has great picks too, and it's obvious that every choice held significance for him in his personal life and musical journey. It's also the most candid and non-comedic I've ever seen him. Thanks for posting, Amoeba! Easily one of my favorite entries in this series in years and years!
John Tejada always been a killer
love Reggie Watts
Reggie, yes!
Louder than Love has a couple of Soundgarden's greatest songs: Gun, Kev's Mom & No Wrong No Right. But as an album Ultramegaok flows best for me.
Ministry, woooo!
Reggie is right, Strangeways is their masterpiece. Good man Reggie!
Oh man! I totally agree about Stangeways being the best Smiths record!
Wajatta be making some sweet ass music!
Quality 👌
Fuck yes, Ministry and Soundgarden!!!
Main source !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wasnt surprised reggie had ministry in there cause they rule!
that Smiths recommendation did not go where i thought it would
Holy fuck all these "strange" things I grew up listening to, never knowing more than maybe 1 other person who also knew of them (Black Dog, etc.) and both of these guys are just listing off my adolescence and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
MINISTRY
Neón Indian is pretty Spicy
Sebastian Tinajero hell yeah !!!!
The guy from Neon Indian tried to steal my girl one time.
I have had mixed feelings ever since.
Yo baby yo baby yo!
74 Miles Away
That Sugarcubes stuff did fucking sound like the Pixies! hahaha
That 1st Soundgarden is the best Soundgarden album IMO!
Good for you
Alright, tejada likes Jan Jelinek, I should give him a shot 🙂
"gigantic was a huge one for me"
MINISTRY 👍
Love Reggie but he forgot to mention the whole early ‘00 post punk revival thing... that is still inspiring a lot of people to even pick up instruments 🎹
I like June Christy . l enjoy Sarah Vaughan too, I just like June Christy better for some reason .
You gotta be kidding . I am listening to Somethin Else by Cannoball Adderley right now .
_June's_ *_Something Cool_* , _Adderlry's_ *_Somethin Else_* . *Something huh* . _he he_ .

12:32 Is that Devin Townsend? lol
Damn, I forgot about your show last night, in Oslo. They don't really promote or remind people. I'll catch you next time Reggie.
I fuckin knew Reggie was Bjork fan just from listening to him
how weird is it to hear that reggie watts was into DXM?
Ok. Reggie is cool as fuck
I’d like a what’s in my bag with cuco
9:20 what does john say? I shouldve found a "?" record
Possibly Brinkmann (as in Thomas Brinkmann, minimal electronic artist)
#soundgarden
Yo, FSOL repreSENT! ... mah duuuuuude
*We know a few good grain silos.*
yopp
I bet Reggie watts likes death grips since he likes electronic based stuff
Now take out your pens and paper class
what the fuck was that second record though...!?
It was "Lifeforms" by The Future Sound Of London. www.amoeba.com/lifeforms-lp-the-future-sound-of-london/albums/4007893/
hahaha
That Cannonball Adderly record is tits.
Call Princes Chelsea
The Icelandic B52s....
reggie dont even hide his coke nail
He looks so much like Brett Gelman it's uncomfortable.
10:17 kind of controversial statement
Morrisey makes me feel violent
"no band sounds like the pixies" ... except The Gun Club....
I dont get Reggie but damn John Tejada taste is superb
Reggies music taste is on another planet on another level compared to this other guy.

ha!
If you think that rock and roll hasn't been "dangerous" since Kurt died, you're just out of touch.
disgraceland uk who would you say has lived up to that? I think he meant culturally speaking. Within the radio and mainstream, I don’t think there has. Where the movement is so strong and loud, it seeps over other genres.
a statement like that with no answer is just lame
Ha ha ha. I'm not doing your homework for you, son. If you're too lazy to go looking then you deserve to be out of the loop.
And there was no "movement". What you're really remembering is the media fixating on on what they termed "grunge" in order to shift their lame magazines. Most of the bands who were referred to as such hated the term, as it was used so broadly it didn't really mean anything.
It was a brief moment in time when a handful of decent artists found themselves in the mainstream limelight. That really has no bearing on their quality, or on the quality of what has come since. Any real music fan knows this. If you love music, you'll always dig further than what's served up to you on a platter.
disgraceland uk 🛑.. the 'i know more than you argument' is silly.. you had an opinion n i asked u to back it up n now i gotta listen to this crap. no thanks. you win your music is better than mine n i'm a lemming that only follows the crowd. BTW.. i'm 55 n from Seattle n saw it all happen. i didn't go buy ripped jeans n a flannel shirt.. i already had em n if the outside media had no bearing on the quality of the music then why bring it up. I'm not trying to place myself in the middle of the 'scene' i just know i liked seein a lot of those bands. Still don't know what you consider dangerous. Long live justin bieber.
Whatever you say. Very little of the important stuff happened in Seattle anyway. Again...mainstream media spin. ;) Enjoy your Bieber.
Kurt Cobain committing suicide still does not make sense to me, Bourdain neither...who next Iggy Pop yeah right lol
It's so damn unfortunate
“Racing Jetters”. Classic Great Falls.
Nice ROBO shout out too.
