Thanks for the content, really appreciating your fatherly teachings, passing on your wisdom with patience and kindness. I have a similar little ‘03 Suzuki Alto, that I’m planning to change the gearbox oil in soon and this has given me some helpful tips. Only thing I wanted to ask is whether it matters that there’s slightly more oil going in, with it being on an angle, than if it were level? Thanks again and all the best from UK 👍
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching. Yes you get slightly more or less oil depending on the fill plug location and the angle of the car. Usually I’m under the hoist servicing but on my own cars I usually just whip out the jack and chassis stand (or wheels in this case) i personally don’t think that much would make a difference. Especially in a manual gearbox or rear differential. Even the dip stick in the engine of most vehicles is just a guide. Somewhere between the dots or lines will do they say. I have seen vehicles with manual gearboxes filled way over full being filled from a wrong location such as a speedo drive that wasn’t also a fill plug. On those occasions the operation of the gearbox was effected as you could imagine. Again thanks for watching and thanks for the comments !
