I sent my Kinefinity Terra 6k to China for repairs. It took 10 days. I sent parts back and forth for my MavoLF, to resolve upgrade issues from the Terra 6k, it took less than a week.
Canada has a dealer now, but it was before they came into the game. I guess it depends on the brand, but Kinefinity never left me down when it came to service.

I know Phill doesn't really like the sigma fp but I myself am having a blast with the SIGMA fp
it's such a lite build-up for a Cine shoulder rig and the Cine DNG is fun to edit on my fast PC
I think that the Sigma fp and the "Z" cam are the start of future small cameras where the Body is just
the body that you build upon

Origin Cine in Burbank, CA is currently the first rental house providing Kinefinity's, no solid word on if they service, however. I"ve put 135 hours on my Terra since June 19 in all kinds of conditions and it's been great to me so far. 90 degree humidity days, 10 degree snowstorms, mounted on black arms, etc. I can't see them falling out anytime soon and hopefully the U.S. based service will continue to grow.
A tip: watch series on kaldroStream. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies recently.

25:57 - UPDATE, Kinefinity permanently slashed their prices this week on the MAVO LF, MAVO and TERRA 4K.
really like cages that let you move the top handle forward and back so it balances small and large lenses... also like its ARCA, its just the right size for fs5 and smaller cameras

Oh, and Kinefinity reduced their prices last week, by 30% on the Mavo LF !
love the video Zacuto, but try Zoom Video conferencing over skype, its soooo much better and less laggy

Yeah, I know you're joking, but economics aside, you'd be a great company to make a full frame cinema camera. You have the EVF already, right? You have the manufacturing expertise. You have the marketing. Do Red one better. Use off-the-shelf SSDs, get an interchangeable mount, make it modular. You're really halfway there. Have Rachel as your NAB demo person. You'll sell a ton. Maybe you could get Bloom as a consultant. He'd work for cat food if you ask him, I'll bet.
Oh, man. Don't encourage them, LOL! But honestly, it's such a MASSIVE undertaking to do something like that. Well, we'll see - but don't count your chickens (or your cats.) ;)
with the ACT plate coming out, are you considering a manfrotto plate version?

@@zacutousa okay! it's one part I would love to see. SmallRig has this in their design, but it's not a drop in style (and a much worse should pad than yours). If you did that wow, that would be a game changer.

Shoulder generation... i hate the cam in the shoulder.
how do you keep steady. Please don't say a gimbal as that is not handheld. It's all about balance and centre of gravity.
@@philipbloom The camera is held with both hands at the height of the solar plexus, the left hand below, reaching the focus ring with the fingers. You hold your breath, you walk like a ninja. Of course I don't mean television cameras. In last you use a tripod. The height of the camera on my shoulder was always unnatural to me. When the dslr began to come out with full hd video it was heaven.

@@philipbloom It is also true that we never use very large cameras or many things attached to them in our jobs. We make documentary.

Keep the title like "Z CAM - An alternative Camera" . Its program of Z CAM, nothing else. Misleading title.

There is a lot of Z CAM chat up front since it's a new camera for Phil and he's using it a lot right now, but if you skip ahead we show a lot of kinefinity footage as well and cover the fp and Fran too.
