- Thousands of first responders from throughout New York and other states gathered at the New York State Fairgrounds on Monday, April 22. 2024, to honor Lt. Michael Hoosock. It took more than half an hour for all the uniformed officers to file into the building. Just before the service ended, a dispatcher read a final tribute to the crowd at the Expo Center and across some emergency radio frequencies. “You will forever be a role model,” the dispatcher said of Lt. Michael Hoosock.
Heartfelt sympathy to his family, friends, and those who knew him. God bless.

Your watch is completed, Deputy Lt. Hoosock. We’ll take the watch from here. May Sheriff John Dillon meet you at the Gates of Heaven. Thank you for your service to Onondaga County. Rest in Peace, Sir.

Is this really funny? Violence against those who put on a uniform to serve and protect the greater community are being killed and injured all around the country. Right now police are not safe, therefore average people like us aren't safer either. My road the speed limit is 30 MPH, cars now speed by at easily 40 to 50 MPH. 5 years ago if you were doing 40 MPH on my street you could rest assured you would be stopped, and a summons issued. Nowadays police are at risk of not just physical assault but lawsuits and public criticism so they don't enforce even traffic laws like they used to, and it shows. This is a sad time in our nation, may God keep all our public servants safe.
