I am surprised to hear someone complain about Emirates, thought they were the gold standard service wise...Have never been on them myself. I don't know what time your flight left, but if it was late at night, it seems normal not to serve an actual dinner. I usually end up tossing out most of the food on these late flights that offer some sort of dinner, so I understood and was happy that my domestic US employer stopped wasting money on food that was just to be wasted. I would hope that Emirates did make meal notations on your itinerary though, so you would know there was no dinner before the trip. Sorry for the burnt meal, this does happen sometimes, I will not try to make any excuses. Please buy something in the terminal or bring your own food. There is usually only enough "buy on board" meals/snacks for 25-30% of capacity. It is unrealistic to expect the carriers to provision fresh meals/snacks for 100% of coach passengers, only to have to throw out 60-70% at the end of the flight. My first ( and last) experience with Emirates was in first class in 2009. Got on board the Gatwick to Dubai segment of the flight, practically empty first class cabin, I only noticed one other passenger there if I recall correctly. Purser comes up with a menu and said " dining on demand sir, anytime you wish to eat just order". One hour into the flight I ordered a prawn dish, waited about 20 minutes before the stewardess came back and said " would you mind having lamb or pasta instead but if you really want prawns I'll look for them". What did that mean? Emirates could not explain what " looking for prawns in an aircraft meant". Well I got chicken instead and it was awful. Never flew Emirates since !

Around 1980 I flew from Toronto to Los Angeles several times, always with Air Canada. The flights usually took about four and a half hours, and meals were included, even in economy class. The choices were beef, chicken of fish, and deserts. Wine was offered, either white or red, all served on real dinnerware and cutlery. Everything was complimentary, included in the price of the ticket. We usually flew on Lockheed L1011 widebody jets. Since those days, food offerings have dwindled to packaged snacks, and service isn't what it used to be. I won't call out any specific airline as bad, because any one of them can have a bad day, but generally, the flight attendants do a great job of making the flying experience pleasant.
It takes longer than 3 hours to develop symptoms of food poisoning. The Alitalia offering on European business class was not unrepresentative of other European carriers on short haul. The AirSerbia meal was a bit of a joke. The price does often include a number of other perks, including fast track check in and security, lounge access, additional baggage allowance and increased air miles and points accrual. It’s up to the individual to decide whether these add up to a value for money offering.
The United flight from Las Vegas to Los Angeles is only about 30, maybe 35, minutes at most. I don't understand why you'd be disappointed with such a short flight. If crisps are unacceptable, then what would you suggest United serve?
Brian so true! United does not even claim that they offer a meal on that flight, not sure why the guy thought he would be getting a meal instead of the simple snack that he got.
Excusing airlines for offering these items in a business class is the reason why they continue to do it...I have taken flights shorter than this where a cold meal is offered. When you want, there is a way
@@MyTrips_Aviation I'm curious. Which airline would that be in offering a meal, hot or cold, on flights less than 30 minutes? I honestly cannot think of any carrier today doing that.
Back in the day, on a 45 minute domestic flight here in NZ between Auckland and Wellington, you used to get a hot meal, a drinks service + tea/coffee. And that was in economy!! No excuse for such sloppy service in business.
Just to state what many already know. Europe 'biz' or 'club' class means Lounge access and a seat that's the same as economy with the middle seat blocked. BA used to have Club Europe configured with a thing that turned the blocker of the middle seat into a tray table. In the USA, Domestic First Class is a real First Class seat, but no Lounge access.
What surprises me is that TAP Air is a member of Star Alliance. Even FA on Ryanair was decent when I flew from Copenhagen to Bologna and meals were good
The all important question is if this 'meal' was advertised as a meal. If the flight was advertised as offering a meal service, then obviously what is provided was not a meal in any sense of the word. However, if the flight was advertised as offering only a drink service, then these items to nibble with the drink, in place of say nuts, were acceptable..
TAP meal service was atrocious and their response to your case of food poisoning is disgraceful. But I had to laugh when I saw the meal served by Air Serbia- much different than the menu. It looks like take -out from a donut shop.
Regardless, one hour and twenty three minutes is PLENTY of time for meal service. I don't blame UAL specifcally. But cabin crew have sweet FA to do. And some of them, the bad apples that amplify the culture of cabin crew surliness, make it perfectly plain that they are there in case of emergency, nothing else.
Cool review and agree with all of them except the United Flight to LA. I used to be in the Airline Business and since it was only 1 hr and 23 min the Flight Attendant loses about 15-min on take off time and then serve drinks, Then landing you have to secure the Cabin 15-20 before landing so does not give much time to offer a good meal. But better snacks could have been offered. But your other ones were on point. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Ray, I get your point for the short flight, these are always very challenging for FAs and I feel for them. I have had flights of under an hour though where there was a cold or hot mini meal served. I think the crisps/pretzels are nice but unacceptable for any kind of business class. Surely they can do a bit better than this. Glad you liked the video
Well, is that your explanation for a flight over 1hr?? In Europe, a cold meal would be served in the so-called European “Business class” . London/Paris, London/Brussels are 45min and in “Business” you will be served a cold meal with dessert and warm bread, plus a full bar service ....
couple of questions, How long was the Emirates flight and what time was take off ? I did like no one else had a problem with the fish, maybe because you were the only one in Business.
Emirates flight was just over 6 hours and left around 1-2am if I remember well. Yes, the response from TAP was totally ridiculous, one passenger only and no one else had a problem...I thought they were joking
@@MyTrips_Aviation 6 hours I would expect a main meal, with so many connecting flights being 1am Dubai time only matters if you are leaving the airport, when going though Dubai the only thing I worry about is my arrival time at the other end, and try to adjust to that. Greetings from New Zealand by the way.
I guess the EK flight was from another airport. I have taken a few times their HKG-BKK-DXB flight leaving Hong Kong at about 8:30pm. They served dinner prior arrival at BKK and then only breakfast in the BKK-DXB
Interesting video. I concur on your dismal experience on EK, which is overrated trash. By the same token, UA is not worth biz class fare (or first as they call it). I am surprised by TAP which I have not experienced recently, but had some friends who commented positively.
In United's defense, most US carriers do not serve meals outside meal windows on short flights.. Trunk markets are different as are competition which could bring a meal on a shorter flight ie NYC area East Coast cities with competition.... At my airline we do serve multiple snack options even on short flights.. on flights with a designated meal service the snack service is somewhat reduced compared to the snack basket on non meal flights..
Your United flight from LAS to LAX is about an hour. In domestic First class the bonus is a wider seat, more leg room and if you really work at it a couple of drinks not food. At least the coffee they serve will be freshly brewed.
Lovely vid, thank you! My God you really did pay a lot to go ATH-BEG-LHR..With the same amount of money you can fly Aegean Business Class to LHR with a much better product than that of Air Serbia..As for Emirates i dont get it..Do all night flight don't get dinner? Or only those departing after midnight? TAP was horrible on all aspects..The fish, the lack of alternative service and of course their response...I have had food poisoning in the past and it can be gruelling..When they say no one else was affected by the fish, do they mean Economy pax? Did they serve fish to them too?
I agree with you about other options to London, especially Aegean I have flown many times and love this airline. For Emirates it was a shock to me too, the whole process of flying with them, not just the meal problems. I think this airline is overrated significantly. With regards to TAP, their response shows that they did not investigate at all my case and they just gave a ridiculous response to a passenger telling them got food poisoning on their flight. There was no fish in economy and I was the only passenger in business...
To be honest whenever I rode in emirates airlines...this never happened with me like everything was good including meals...so I thought this as best airlines but now..........
Okay wow thats brutally honest. I love the european turkish Airlines Business class and they offer a 3 course menu at the european flights. I get 2 free upgrades in the business class for the route TXL-IST-TXL and it was so good 😍. The menu was very delucious 😍
Good review ! You wonder whether the people that buy this food for the airline ever taste it or check whether a certain standard can be held. Had similar experiences on Emirates (it was either very good or very bad). Lufthansa/BA have become terrible over the last couple of years whether in bizz or even first(BA).
note to self....always eat a hearty meal in the lounge, you never know what garbage they will serve on the plane. i am not surprised by the U.S flight, Emirates on the other hand...wow. and TAP...that was reckless from them.
Business class are the new premium economy class these days, the world Business is still used to attract the potential buyers who will love to pay premium sum for luxury experience,
Oman Air - I have two flight reviews on the channel - fantastic both. I love this airline. Sri Lankan Airlines - I had serious problems with them due to an incident last year and I have a legal dispute against them. I don't have the best opinion unfortunately...
Frankly when ever i take a flight i skip the foods just take juice or tea .. dont take any risk of getting sick after eating .. any of the dishes serve by the airline
Thank you for this lovely BRUTAL ,HONEST video. No MERCY for those airlines with bad service and too expensive tickets,DOESNT matter time of flying.European business certainly is money waste without real business class seats and service. But should continou fight for passengers rights.Cant wait for new video.
Business class flights in Europe are short and if you pay for business Its your own fault, not worth it. The flights you complained about and the food you had was typical for short haul European flights.
I’m afraid I will disagree with you. A 3 hour flight where you are charged hundreds of pounds is long enough for good service and i have received excellent service on many European flights, many of which are on the channel.
135.90 UKP for a 1h 23 min flight, first class and with chips, pretzels and a drink included? Sounds like a real deal! I wish flights in Europe were this cheap.
@@MyTrips_Aviation It may be a business class product but it is merely living up to the price you paid. One way train tickets (second class) in Europe are often more expensive than that.
An interesting concept to rate your worst meal experiences My Trips. I would agree with you that each of them in their own way was dismal. Thank you for continuing to post content.
Thank you for the video. I hope you had recovered quickly after the food poisoning. Is weird how they can say chicken has ran out on your TAP flight?! More like they did not load the meal at all! And I guess the fish was not cooked properly, whether on ground or on-board.
The United flight gave you a snack that is more typical of Economy. The Alitalia breakfast was pretty minimal, and a fast food breakfast sandwich would have been better - along with the fruit. I was appalled at the Air Serbia "meal". It would have been disappointing even in Economy, and you paid at least double for your seat. Emirates trumpets their luxury and pampering, but being sent to bed without your supper is a traditional punishment! After being handed that breakfast I would handed it back and asked for an edible one. But, I suppose, you were very hungry. I was shocked at how little you got for the price. The TAP ticket wasn't expensive, but I'd guess they didn't load any dinners and gave you a leftover from a previous flight that had been sitting out for hours. And none of those empty seats complained about the fish? I can't afford Business Class, and if I splurged and booked BC for the first time and got served any of these "meals", I'd never do it again!
Emirates is a top-class one, so I guess that service must have been the bad apple. Maybe they were having problems but Emirates should atleast hold themselves up to a better standard.
Well not all business seats are equal. Some are clearly better than another, even in the same airlines. That's why for the best experience and best value for the money, one should only fly business class on long haul flights, wide body aircraft (A350, B787 etc) of traditional carriers. For those who really prioritize having as many inflight meals as possible, flight schedule should also be taken in consideration.
First, business class within Europe or under 6 hours is not worth it. I flew KBI - DXB in business class. Unfortunately I didn’t realise it would be operated by Fly Dubai. If you thought EK was bad try them. Truly awful.
Maybe you can consider the business class flight from Garuda Indonesia, from Amsterdam to Jakarta or from Jakarta to Sydney. Who knows they would provide a good meal for business class passengers.
@MyTrips That last flight (TAP Airlines) was really bad, huh. Can’t believe they “ran out of the chicken dinner” on your flight. And sorry to hear you got sick from the fish dinner. Hope it never happens to you again. Happy landings. 🛬
Im surprised at air Serbia, Alitalia ,emirates and tap ! I flew with Austrian , Lufthansa, lot polish airlines and I was offered twice as more !, also one advice never have fish on the plane , salmon is ok for starter which Lufthansa gave us and Turkish economy does as well
It does not happen too often..but you really made me burst out into loud laughter with this video:))))) "No other pax had problems with the fish" they write to the only pax who had it..wonderful:)))United was extremely poor and EK astonished me..normally they are better. European C is normally not tworth it, altough i beleive BA is improving with hot dishes. The prices which you quoted: were they one way or return flight prices?
@@MyTrips_Aviation oh thank you! Then some prices are really quite high compared to what you got. Btw, the TAP fish meal already looked sick before it was eaten I think..and just looking at this watery fish-vegetable -water on the platte..what an horror!
Honestly any flight below 3 hours I don’t expect a meal. I took a 5 hour flight from San Francisco to New York and I got a drink and a biscoff which is fine by me although 5 hours is stretching it
Take asian airlines like japan airlines, singapore airlines, philippine airlines... you wont get disappointed. Excellent food & service, even for economy class.
On the TAP flight, I bet you the crew ate the chicken dinners and you were the only person to eat the fish dinner. So TAP could honestly say that there were no other complaints about the fish! I have a feeling that your fish dinner had been around awhile and had been thawed out and refrozen several times. Perfect way to go bad and cause food poisoning. Good report. Looking forward to your upcoming vlogs after things get somewhat back to normal. ♥️🛫🙏🏽🌎
Anyway there is no justified price in flying business . All of them are a complete scam and nearly nobody will pay for if it will come from their own pocket . Went to Dubaï and saved 4000€ (for 2) for not flying in business and did so many things there with all that money which worth to stay a total of 12 hours in eco...really worth it .
Doesn’t make sense flying First Class from LAS to LAX. It’s basically coach snacks. Same with Alitalia. I flew this same rout LHR FCO and it was the same snack......what a shame. Airlines having shitty service these days. Not like the good old days where they gave you a hot towel
Not all short haul European business class meals are bad. I flew from Istanbul to Ljubljana with Turkish Airlines and it was one of the best airline meals I have ever had.
Shame! TAP should at least apologize for that and try to compensate you, instead they excused! Business class passengers should received better respect
Antonio, I did not ask for compensation or even complain in all honesty. I told them what happened to help them take measures so this does not happen again. Yet, I received a very arrogant and irrelevant response. For me the response was worse than the incident itself
@@MyTrips_Aviation They sould look that as serious issue! As traveler I get worried if they say: No one else had problems, it's the way to show empathy. It's just my point of view
You are expecting first class food and service so pay for a first class seat. Eat at a nice restaurant after you land. You are paying for transportation not to be waited on.
You should take an Air France flight to an african destination! Than you definatly know what a really really bad service and food you can get on an International flight!
Probably you are not a fish fan , am I right? That indeed can be complicate on a flight where you are the only business class travelers with TAP.... My experience however is that TAP business class food wins on any Lufthansa group catering served in business class. Even with a Lufthansa ticket if possible try to catch a TAP Codeshare flight for that reason....
Lars I am a big fish fan actually and I can tell when a fish is not good...Unfortunately, based on my experiences with TAP I can't agree with you about them. However, I do agree with you that Lufthansa's catering (and overall service) leaves a lot to desire...

I feel sad sometimes at this pandemic as I alway saw the SQ staff now working at the mrt station as a ambassador without saying good morning sir or ma'am I miss. I maybe in the minority as I like fish, however in my opinion TAP’s meal is not the worst. It looks like the main course is dry salted cod (not to everyone’s taste but typical portuguese cuisine) and the starter looks like some smoked fish. Regarding the food poisining and TAP’s reply I agree with you - unnaceptable!
Don't get me wrong, I love fish and I eat a lot of it. TAP's fish had gone off, I assume due to incorrect storage during the long delay. Because of the food poisoning and mostly following their response to me, this was the worst meal I've ever had on an aircraft
I got really mad with their response and I didn't even complain, I just told them that something went really wrong with the way that fish had been stored during the long delay...
I do. I wonder though whether the airline realizes this when they sell a premium ticket that does not include lounge access and premium service onboard the aircraft...
The reply from TAP was so funny. Cause you are the only pax in business class so obviously no other pax have eaten the fish except you. That response was totally ridiculous.
I flew EVA biz class out of Bangkok to sf thru Taiwan, they only gave me one choice and it was food I could not eat, then I ask for a glass of red wine and she siad! NO HAVE!! 1700 USD FLIGHT SUCKED!!! NEVER AGIAN EVA!!
so terrible…! you pay and you got Nothing...these companies offer poor salaries but cash in profits... well, now it's gonna be a bit different...there wont be such a flow of passengers for a while..
It is unbelievable , you were the only passenger of the business class and they replied no other passengers had problems with the fish. Thank you for posting this video.
My exact sentiment! But hey, they are not exactly wrong either.
Funny.... no other passengers were affected. OF COURSE, you're the only passenger. OMG.

Even FA on Ryanair was decent when I flew from Copenhagen to Bologna and meals were good
7:21 Coming soon, new decals for the engines! Expo 2021, lol
Hehe, everything is cancelled this year!
I’d be ok with bag of chips and soda for one hr and 25 min flight
you feel me? lol not complaining at all. especially if i ate before the flight.
Some of them do not look like they are business class seats tbh
TAP meal service was atrocious and their response to your case of food poisoning is disgraceful. But I had to laugh when I saw the meal served by Air Serbia- much different than the menu. It looks like take -out from a donut shop.
I'll never fly TAP
The United Airlines flight was a short, domestic flight, so it had no meals. Just snacks
@@MyTrips_Aviation Thanks for responding
couple of questions, How long was the Emirates flight and what time was take off ?
They served dinner prior arrival at BKK and then only breakfast in the BKK-DXB
also the flight is only 6hrs from BKK to DXB. i would think the norm is one meal plus a light snack
And this is called "first" or "business" class?
@@MyTrips_Aviation very unprofessional on their part
To be honest whenever I rode in emirates airlines...this never happened with me like everything was good including meals...so I thought this as best airlines but now..........
Okay wow thats brutally honest. I love the european turkish Airlines Business class and they offer a 3 course menu at the european flights. I get 2 free upgrades in the business class for the route TXL-IST-TXL and it was so good 😍. The menu was very delucious 😍
"Imagine if you're the FA on this flight. Do you serve burnt items to passenger." Mays, unfortunately is this or loosing your job...
You are right...
I agree it's good to eat in the lounge but the service on board is part of the process and the price you have paid. I always look forward to that meal
Business class are the new premium economy class these days, the world Business is still used to attract the potential buyers who will love to pay premium sum for luxury experience,
Ashwin Raizada not nearly as good as they used to be,you know what happened to the dinosaurs!!
My last experience on TAP European Business out of Lisbon in Nov 2019 was disappointing. The food did not smell or taste fresh!
What do you think of Sri Lankan Airlines and Oman Air?
Oman Air - I have two flight reviews on the channel - fantastic both. I love this airline.
Sri Lankan Airlines - I had serious problems with them due to an incident last year and I have a legal dispute against them. I don't have the best opinion unfortunately...
@@MyTrips_Aviation Sorry to hear that. Ill be sure to check your reviews on Oman Air. keep up the good work tho. :D
Thanks a lot, very kind of you!
What you describe may be a deal but it's not a business class product under any circumstances
@@MyTrips_Aviation It may be a business class product but it is merely living up to the price you paid. One way train tickets (second class) in Europe are often more expensive than that.
For a short hop from LAX to Vegas you just pay for the more comfortable seats. But those other meals hearken back to economy class during the 80s.
Maybe they were having problems but Emirates should atleast hold themselves up to a better standard.
original sea salt? is there fake sea salt?
Emirates only serve 1 meal on-board mean for breakfast. What about dinner? Long haul flight must have 2 meals on-board.
Top 5 is short haul flight. How can crew serve Full Main Coarse in short haul flight
Very sad paying so much money not getting good hospitality then service provider is not up to mark in customer care.
I'm astounded at Emirates!
Do you finance your trips yourself or your company?
90% are funded by myself
why did you focus on the flight, and less on the meal
edit: okay, I know you wanted to make some context in all of the meals
@MyTrips That last flight (TAP Airlines) was really bad, huh. Can’t believe they “ran out of the chicken dinner” on your flight. And sorry to hear you got sick from the fish dinner. Hope it never happens to you again. Happy landings. 🛬
Im surprised at air Serbia, Alitalia ,emirates and tap ! I flew with Austrian , Lufthansa, lot polish airlines and I was offered twice as more !, also one advice never have fish on the plane , salmon is ok for starter which Lufthansa gave us and Turkish economy does as well
I got stomach issue from Spicejet airline flight food from Dubai to Mangalore returning.
PS: hope you make a best business meals vid as well:)))
Hello again. The prices are always one way unless i state return!
@@MyTrips_Aviation oh thank you! Then some prices are really quite high compared to what you got. Btw, the TAP fish meal already looked sick before it was eaten I think..and just looking at this watery fish-vegetable -water on the platte..what an horror!
The Alitalia meal seemed actually good!
Honestly any flight below 3 hours I don’t expect a meal. I took a 5 hour flight from San Francisco to New York and I got a drink and a biscoff which is fine by me although 5 hours is stretching it
With the tap airlines meal I’m amazed how the pilots didn’t have the fish it would’ve been a very bad mistake if they did
Love the video 😍😍😍 😍❤️
First viewer
Thank you!
Take asian airlines like japan airlines, singapore airlines, philippine airlines... you wont get disappointed. Excellent food & service, even for economy class.
Amazing content as always. Keep up the great work. Stay safe and strong. Much love from New York.
Thanks a lot, I hope you're doing well. NY badly hit like here for us
On the TAP flight, I bet you the crew ate the chicken dinners and you were the only person to eat the fish dinner. ♥️🛫🙏🏽🌎
I'm thinking the same too, thanks
that fish looked obviously spoiled before food poisoning was even mentioned.
Jimmy many airlines still offer the hot towel and provide a good business class product in Europe.
Not all short haul European business class meals are bad. I flew from Istanbul to Ljubljana with Turkish Airlines and it was one of the best airline meals I have ever had.
Turkish Airlines is quite well known for serving good meals, even in Economy Class.
I totally agree with you, I have had good meals on 45 minute flights in Europe
Agree
Being the only passenger in Bussiness Class and you ordered chicken but it was finish.. Who ate? 😆😆😆
I don’t think that a business class ticket pays for transportation only...
You should take an Air France flight to an african destination! Than you definatly know what a really really bad service and food you can get on an International flight!
Agreed.
£177 lisbon to milan - that sounds like an economy class ticket or "economy plus"
One reason I avoid long distance flying. They all served fucking cheese, butter, cream, an sweet.
how disappointing to be served such lousy meals on a Business Class flight
I hope in the future pls try out Singapore airlines, hope they met ur expectations. Take care.
I have flown with Singapore a couple of times but not on very long flights. All my experiences so far have been very good.
I miss flying with Singapore airline as I Singaporeans I alway taking SQ when I in holiday. I feel sad sometimes at this pandemic as I alway saw the SQ staff now working at the mrt station as a ambassador without saying good morning sir or ma'am I miss. Hope u stay well n happy at this period of time take care!!
Try Southeast Asian top airlines like Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Thai Airways, Garuda Indonesia..
TAP simply could have said (we're sorry dear passenger). That menu probably came from a inexperienced FA
I got really mad with their response and I didn't even complain, I just told them that something went really wrong with the way that fish had been stored during the long delay...
@@MyTrips_Aviation sure this not going to be the case when airlines resumes back to business!
Thank you for sharing your travels with us!
Come one man, don't crib. Your company paid for those tickets anyway! 😂
You’re wrong, I paid for all of them from my own pocket
Man i feel you :( your expectations were good turned out to be bad that you got food poisoning :(((
You do realize that Vegas to LA is like 225 miles and you are in the air for almost no time. If you travel across the states it’s better
I do. I wonder though whether the airline realizes this when they sell a premium ticket that does not include lounge access and premium service onboard the aircraft...
Nice video, top quality.
What happened with food on Emirates? this airline is in top5 best airline in the world!
the customer service closely matches the condition of the respective country
The last one reminds me of Airplane
Funny.... no other passengers were affected. OF COURSE, you're the only passenger. OMG.
9:44 well of course no other passenger had problems with the fish because you were the only passenger in Business class!
Just a joke, although it was not funny when I met that fish again in Milan :)
My Trips hah hah hah... 😱😭
Royal Jordanian Long Haul Business Class food is Abysmal
The reply from TAP was so funny. Cause you are the only pax in business class so obviously no other pax have eaten the fish except you. That response was totally ridiculous.
I can't agree more
My advice to you my friend. NEVER EAT FISH ON A PLANE. NEVER....................................
Hey ease up on never eat fish🐠🐋🐟 I don't eat meat🍗.
I do like fish but the truth is I asked for the chicken on that case.
Try the air Algérie business class service, you'll understant what is shitty service
