I've flown with Qatar Airways many times whilst travelling from the UK to Thailand, and can honestly say i've never had a bad flight. The departures always on time, the flight itself is pleasant and the crew are some of the best i've seen. I would recommend this airline in a heartbeat. I love your videos tho, very informative.
Just got back from Thailand flying with Qatar in the economy class. Excellent staff and great price. Highly recommend Qatar if you are travelling from Ireland.
I agree. I once flew Economy Class and when I wanted to use the lounge (without frequent flyers member), I was asked to pay around 8 to 12 USD. So I think the high price of Business & First Class is includes the "all-you-can-eat" lounge.
This was the QR business class on my trip from Kiev - Doha night flight a couple years ago. I was asleep before take-off and was awoken on descent. Honestly, I slept like a log. So, it’s actually pretty comfortable.
You made some very good points re: your comparison with Turkish and suggestions for improvements but, even so, I'd be happy to take this flight. Maybe I'm just too used to the product available from US airlines 🤷🏾♂️
Unless you're speaking entirely generally, but if you don't know about how JetBlue is now, Sam Chui made a recent video showing business class soooo far above this one.
I find Qtar’s business class being the best. Remember on my first sector I did not get the meal selection I liked. On the second leg there was a message sent to the attendants saying to make sure that I get what I want. Excellent service!
Kudos to the service director of your first flight for endorsing that information to the officer on ground or to the next director for your second leg. Some won't bother to take an extra step to ensure customer service recovery is delivered. 💙 Glad they recovered you.
Man, this brought back memories of when I worked in Lagos, Nigeria and would fly Qatar business class often. All airlines fly their scrap heap aircraft in and out of Lagos since I guess they always worry some corrupt official will try to seize the plane with no justification. The seats and cabin in general were poor for business class, but the food, drink and service were always great. Matter of fact one time I got completely wrecked on a great red wine because the attendant wouldn't let my glass get less than half full before re-filling it. When I was in Doha Duty Free I found the same wine and figured I would pick up a bottle since I liked it so much... $250 USD per bottle. Yeah, no thanks. I bet the attendant poured out at least 2x bottles into my glass over the course of the flight. She was great.
Lagos flights with crappy aircrafts ... so true! There are certain aircrafts used for specific destinations. Even if Lagos flight is full of frequent flyers with top tiers, still, the older aircrafts fly there. Crew don't enjoy crappy aircrafts, either. So certain destinations are dreaded because of the aircraft themselves. 😅
I have misophonia too and I thank you sooooo very much for not leaving in the mouth noises. I have had it for nearly 40 years, but have only had a name for it for the last 10. For 30 years I was told it was in my head and to get over it. I usually deal with it by avoidance. Love your channel!
I just want to thank you Dan for your videos. They’re brilliant. But even more so your reportage videos about airlines and aircraft manufacturers are superb. I’ve rarely seen such high quality research produced. I myself think that’s your forte but I appreciate everything you produce.
I have never been on a plane before so started watching your videos to find information I need before I go on my first flight in December 2022 to Norway and although it’s not on this airline it is with sas airlines you are honestly helping me so much, thank you x
Thanks for posting these non stop, Dan. I have been avoiding Business class all my life and I am adding this to my list twice, so I don't accidentally even walk through BS class.
I am sorry, but you cannot expect great business class seats on an A320 or A321. I know this from frequent round trips from Kuwait to Dubai, Qatar to Dubai and Qatar to Abu Dhabi. this is the limitation of this type of narrow body plane configuration. it's too teeny and the flights are too short to accommodate luxury flying.
Oh my god I have misophonia too! Flying is actually one of the most stressful things for me because you’re locked in tin position with no control of the people around you. Thank goodness for noise cancelling headphones!
Seemed alright for a narrow-body business class flight, however, when you showed us the Turkish Airlines soft product, you could see that there's a fair bit that Qatar could do better regardless of the fact that the flight is under 5 hours. Great review!
Having only flown domestic US flights a handful of times since the pandemic began, I can only look on with several shades of envy at the 'worst' Qatar has to offer in business class. [But no Bob's Burger's may have been the greatest indignation of all.] Great review and loved seeing the Al Mourjan Lounge in all its glory. Safe travels, Cheers & Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!
My favourite part of every flight/I.F.E. element is simply being in a windows seat, five or six rows behind the trailing edge of the right wing and watching the 'stuff' (ailerons, spoilers etc.) do their thing. AND IT'S FREE! Works for me, every time. Different strokes, different folks, eh? "Time flies and so shall we".
When you showed the playground in the terminal it literally made me tear up because i used to live in Qatar as a kid and we would travel a lot and every time we traveled me and my brother would play in the playground
Planes do not have “microwaves” Microwave technology generates heat through high frequency sound dispersion. This could interfere with the cockpits instruments. Therefore they are not allowed for use on planes. Your meal was heated in an industry standard convection oven.
I have a question Dan, seeing that you have a passion for traveling and flying on countless amounts of airlines. Have you ever thought of being an airline pilot? Or working as apart of the cabin crew? Has that gone through your head? Or do you just enjoy the experience of flying with the airlines.
I've often thought about how fun it would be to try being a flight attendant just so I could get an insight into their jobs, the challenges etc. Before this became my job, I wanted to work on the corporate side of an airline, though - i.e. marketing or scheduling😄
@@ironhorsegladiator5034 I mean, most of them actually have fun as well lol. It's best to have a job that's fun and not a chore. Have you tried having fun? Travelling can be fun! Is an adventure!

And, as you mention, the service in these older cabins remains the signature detail of QR business. April cannot get here soon enough.
Hi Dan! Love your videos, so am very sorry to burst your bubble 😖 but you haven’t actually flown all QR business classes - there is a small subfleet (A7-LAA to A7-LAH) with a different business class altogether - WiFi but no video, more space in Business, different recliners. These were originally destined for Al Maha, but were eventually repainted and integrated into the QR fleet.
Did LON_BKK in Q suites this week, first time in any biz class. Worst food on any airline , and been flying since 1965, Qatar food in economy was better, just inedible stodge. Great job as always Dan 👍🏻 But know that there's an even more cramped and lesser known Qatar Airways experience onboard their tiny A319LR (they only have two of them) which I have had the misfortune of ending up on one of them back in early 2020 just before the pandemic. Qatar's "worst" seat is a nice step up from many of the business class seats on US airlines. Turkish has stepped up their game.
