I flew Qsuite on New Year's on a standby ticket and got the last business class seat on the plane. It was an unbelievable experience. Really felt like first class. The small touches, from the chocolates, the PJs on a 7-hour overnight flight, the pillowcase, mattress topper, everything felt magnificent. And it is by far the most spacious business class bed I've ever tried.
So from your experience , could you compare Qsuite with the one in Finnair Dan reviewed in his previous video?
@@nobody....168 Qsuites are easily the best business class one nonstop Dan is the reason why I fly commercially. Though their first classes can have more privacy to them.

13:40 One of the reasons the Adelaide - Doha flights are often full is that since the pandemic, there are a lot fewer options to travel from Adelaide to Europe. In terms of flights that you can use to reach Europe, we used to be served by Qatar, Emirates, Singapore, Malaysia, Cathay Pacific and China Southern whereas now we only have Qatar, Singapore and Malaysia (currently 5 days a week), so Qatar has been in high demand. ;)

My fave flight review, ever! I could even enjoy 20 hours in economy. Sharing this incredible front-of-the bus experience makes travel worthwhile all by itself. Note: Count me among those who prefer the lower cabin door!
3:25 - this old style business class was one of the best in the industry when it was new. In 2010 I had it from Dubai to Doha in a brand new smelling 777. And even on longer trips (FRA-DOH) in 2015 and 2017, I enjoyed the enormous amount of space of this seat. It's not at all bad, but certainly inferior to the other hard products. What I like about Qatar Airways is that they improved the product on every trip. My favorite airline.

Feel for us New Zealanders. We’re off to Miami in a month and the best way to get there (timetable and price) is via London! We’ve flown to Europe with Qatar, when their nonstop AKL-DOH was operating. It was their old style business class but very good. Economy for 18 hours nonstop looked brutal!
Terrific video Dan. We plan to take that same flight to Europe next year (though hopefully without the ADL sector). That is only about 17.5 hours! I think we should get the Q suite as hopefully they will be back to normal scheduling by then. Cheers from Kiwiland!

I flew my first Qsuite from Doha to the US in december, while flight was great CONSISTENCY did hit me, the amenity kit came literally in a box (missing this one in a lifetime souvenir), they had no chocolates and i got the "holidays menu" which was way shorter.

Doesn't surprise me that the flight was full between Adelaide and Doha, I've been on 4 flights between the middle east and Australia since the start of 2022 and all four were fully booked. I guess Aussies are desperate to go on holidays after we were locked down for several years.

Interesting your comment about amenity kits and blankets. I flew QR915 777 Qsuite during the World Cup and got the World Cup themed amenity box and the normal blanket. Likewise Oryx One was the full range. Strange.

I love the QSuite and flew in it from both JFK to DOH onwards to AKL and from Narita to Doha onwards to JFK. It was the most beautiful trip i had. For 2023 I have an even longer trip in QSuite planned. Going from AKL to Doh and onwards to Dallas (20hours and 17hours flight) - so excited!!!! I could not sit in that seat for too long.
I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate your detailed reviews! Keep them coming! Would love to know which you would choose for an upcoming flight to Singapore (business class): a) SQ's non-stop from EWR leaving in the AM; or b) Qatar's QSuite from IAD departing the evening before with a 3:50 layover in Doha. Great video Dan. With regards to Australian forced deplane 13:30 - it’s a customs requirement. Countries like Australia and New Zealand are particularly tough but not without reason. Australia is completely free of many pests and diseases simply by being strict in borders. By deplaning they can also double check that nothing has been brought into country illegally that has not otherwise left the plane (they tend to catch people who do smuggle). Smuggling btw could include many items countries throughout Europe wouldn’t be concerned with.

When they see a dude with camera recording, cabin crew tends to pay extra attention to them to make it look better than what it is. Not always but most times.
I took QSuite from Doha-Madrid & im going to do a CRAZY but worth it trip just to enjoy the Business class, I will do Atlanta-Doha & then a 3 hour layover to then proceed onto Doha-Auckland… have it booked for September

That Oryx One complaint is interesting because I feel like I had the same issue on my flights from Australia to Doha (and return). There was a surprising lack of content and I ended up watching old Frasier and House episodes. It was my only issue with an otherwise fantastic set of flights

Hey, I'm a new subscriber and I'm LOVING your channel. Currently on a binge of your first and business-class videos and I was actively looking for Qatar. I traveled from Tehran to Doha and then from Doha to Philadelphia in August and although I was supposed to fly with an economy class ticket because I simply couldn't afford business class as a student. However, they canceled my flight last minute and get this, they told me that they can not reschedule me for another flight in the same time frame and I have to book my ticket for a month later!! As a student who had to be there, this experience was extremely stressful and irresponsible of one the best airlines in the world, to say the least. Long story short, the only way I could still attend my classes on time was to upgrade my ticket to business class by paying the fare difference which was a huge inconvenience for me, given that this whole thing was their fault. All that being said, the business class experience was priceless. I was on a 14-hour flight which is damn long and exhausting but the service was sublime. The crew was so kind and warm that they even took extra care of me when they realized this is my first time traveling such a long distance and the food was amazing. If I only had the money to buy business class tickets in the first place without the inconvenience they caused me and if the customer service was a bit more helpful and polite, I would always travel with their business class, especially for 7+ hour flights. Wish they work on their customer service though, that's where they really suck!
In 2017 I flew the Adelaide to Doha leg on my way to London. It was my first ever international flight. Of course I was in economy as it was the most affordable. The staff were so lovely! They helped me through a panic attack (I was anxious about leaving the country but it was so worth it!)
I took this same routing in February. Loved the Q-Suite, however, the snoring and flatuance was bad. I asked if they could manually turn on air filtration and was advised it’s on an automatic schedule.

Hi Dan, I love your videos, you're the best flight reviewer ever ❤🥰. I would like to suggest you to try Latam Airlines brand new business class, it looks really amazing. The cabin is very cosy and has a surprisingly modern design, which includes elements of Latin America. It has a small table made of real marble! Super fancy! It is my favourite airline because the staff is always very friendly and helpful. Im sure you'll love them.

I'm noticing on your flight a lot of similar things to my January '23 SIN-DOH-CDG in the 777-200LR Q suites. Usually I have zero complaints about Qatar especially in Q-suites, but on my flight SIN-DOH my Qsuite door was broken and kept rolling open. The crew were slow to come to the seat to try to do something about the door. I also do not like the 777-200 plane. I can't explain why. Maybe it just feels old to me, especially the inflight map.
I had the same dessert as you (based on your previous recommendation) and also found the syrup to be quite flavourless. The crew also were not as attentive overall as usual. I had also been downgraded from 1st - business in DOH-CDG due to the equipment swap from 380 to 777-200. In fact, both legs had equipment swaps (SIN-DOH from A350 to 777-200 and DOH-CDG A380-777-200). There were no options other than accept the downgrade or fully refund the QR Avios. So that was another issue. On the plus side, they gave me Al Safwa access for free based on the original ticket.
For the amenity kits, I also got the same as you, except it was a handbag rather than a backpack - so it's gone to some colleagues. That was on SIN-DOH, DOH-CDG I got a box with Dyptique.Aside from that, all the football stuff is gone.
Overall, compared to a couple of years ago the quality and service is definitely worse. However, as you say, I would still rather fly that than Swiss or Austrian :) I love Lufthansa business so I would fly them over Qatar now. I'd also fly SQ instead. Wasn't impressed with ANA (have flown them in business 3 times and I found it quite plastic and cheap overall). Maybe the Room would change my mind, but the latest flight was 787-10 NRT-BKK and the crew were just...not friendly. They woke me up 3 times as my mask had slipped beneath my nose while sleeping. The Japanese food was also not great - the fish was hard and rubbery, and the rest lacked flavour.
Next up for me are Oman Air and Eva Air, so looking forward to comparing them to what I feel is the reduction in quality overall in Qatar Airways.

Hey Dan. If possible do you think that you could do an updated British airways a380 flight in economy class? I’m leaving America for the first time and riding a jumbo jet for the first time and I’ve been blessed enough to select the a380. I know you won’t be able to make a video on it by March but I’d love to compare my experience to yours. Keep flying safe and keep putting us on to these airlines.
US does the same thing, when Air NZ used to run the AKL-LHR route with a stopover in LAX, you would have to get off the plane, go through customs to enter the US, then go through customs and security again to board the plane you were just on

i really hope you reply to this comment me and my family were moving to the uk with qatar. we were supposed to take q suite after our b 787 but got some dissapointing news once we got to doha airport. on our b787 flight they changed our seats. its wasnt so bad but they changed our plane for q suite! the worst part is that a q suite plane was right beside ours we took a b-777 isntead but we never got to get the worlds best business class experience thank you for cheering me up dan.
