22:24, in the comics Mother Askani is Rachel Summers. She is Scott and Jean's daughter from the Days of Future Past reality. Rachel met them when she was a young women and fought alongside the X-Men for a time. Eventually she grew to considers Scott and Jean to be her parents. Rachel and Clan Askani pulled Nathan into the distant future to safeguard him. Like Jean she is able to play host to the Phoenix. In the comics, Mother Askani who pulled Scott and Jean's minds into the future so they could raise Nathan for a time. They were put into ready made bodies that matched their mutant abilities. For about a decade Nathan knew them as his foster parents Red and Slim. Then when Cable came back to the 20th Century (their present) he recognized them right away as Red and Slim. But because they didn't recognize him, he kept it to himself until a later time. Looks like a lot of the old classic storylines are going to be rolled out for next season.
I honestly cannot put into words how phenomenal this finale and, frankly, this entire show have been. This show quite literally is possibly the best thing Marvel Studios has given us ever since Endgame! PEAK MARVEL MEDIA!
They're definitely giving us Onslaught they set him up perfectly. It took 2 years from the comic to Onslaughts actual introduction and he manipulates people before showing so I'm happy they don't rush him. They need to hire that dude back and greenlight 10 more seasons and 10 spinoffs lol. This is amazing. I'm even more happy finally Apocalypse is going to be given justice like in the classic TAS or even Evolution. Wolverine and the Xmen ended on this cliffhanger and I'm still tight about it but now we get it in the universe that I love the most... 11/10.
Most people don't respect Jubilee's power because most people can't even correctly tell you what Jubilee's power is. And she does not have the same power as Dazzler.
Y’all overlooked the fact that stopping the magnetic field of the earth was a bad move If it was a permanent situation then the world would be in complete chaos forever
That forever wouldn’t be long, as the magnetosphere is what protects us from solar radiation. Magneto may not have realized it, but he was dooming ALL life on earth with his actions.
@@aFrostySkywalker How though? Reversing the poles like he did messed with the entire planet, and everything on it. If it gets anywhere close to the Laschamps Excursion, you get affects like the ozone layer being destroyed, electrical storms raging across the tropics, solar winds generating spectacular light shows (auroras), Arctic air pouring across North America, ice sheets and glaciers surging and weather patterns shifting violently, as well as life on Earth being exposed to intense ultraviolet light, which can lead to mass extinctions without protection like deep caves. Unless he takes _every_ mutant onto Asteroid M and heads into space *FOREVER* the mutants won't be _fine_ unless Magneto reverses it.
By killing the magnetic field of the planet, Magneto was essentially exterminating all life on Earth. Radiations would sterilize the whole world without the protection of the magneto sphere. This is why Magnus got his Asteroid M back. It was the only safe place he could shelter a few mutants. The rest of all life would have died off. People love Magneto. I love Magneto. But never forget he's a genocidal terrorist. He's cool and badass. But also dangerous to the extreme.
Season 2 is gonna be off the chain. Was that a Celestial dome that they showed at the end? Maybe the X-Men goofed and gave Apocalypse the upgrade that made him such a menace. Also looks like Scott and Jean will get a chance to raise Nathan for a bit.
Apparently, Kevin Feige told them T'Challa was off limits, which is weird as hell because T'Challa was the 90s cartoon Black Panther. I am sick and tired of that tryna "humble" the Black Panther franchise.
Super heroes sitting around is the best part of super hero stuff. The CHARACTERS, that's the WHOLE of X-Men, interpersonal moments. Like, yes we need MORE of that, we need more out-of-costume stuff, then the punchy-punch stuff for the 12 year olds. You said Fast and Furious is kids playing with cars on the couch, but...that's why those movies aren't good. They're JUST sugar, Marvel comics were always ABOUT something, their character's lives most importantly. The X-Men is a social drama with action beats and has explicitly been that since the 90s. Them sitting around talking and then throwing hands when the talking is done is what the X-Men ARE, you want action-first movies, that's the Avengers, the co-workers who get together to do the job, the X-Men LIVE TOGETHER it's about THEM, not so much the action, even if that is there a lot. The action comes in when the drama is FINISHED, or during it, but the drama, the emotion, that's first and foremost.
The Askani are a religious order of rebel fighters, with some time-travelers returning to the modern era, in the late 37th century, dedicated to upholding the X-Men's beliefs and battling Apocalypse. And as far as Showing Rogue's real power, they have not even scratched the surface yet! Also!!!! Apocalypse (En Sabah Nur) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. He is one of the world's first mutants, and was a principal villain for the original X-Factor team and later the X-Men and related spin-off teams. Created by writer Louise Simonson and artist Jackson Guice, Apocalypse first appeared in X-Factor #5 (June 1986).[3] Apocalypse is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe where he is the husband of Genesis and the father of the original incarnation of the Horsemen of Apocalypse.
It's been great watching your reactions, thanks for all your work getting them out to us so quickly. This is my favourite on-screen version of X-Men, not just animated, including the films. It's not panel-for-panel, it's an adaptation and retelling so of course there's bits I like more than other, bits I'd love to have seen (compare Emma in E for Extinction with Ep 7) but I think the creative decisions here really work.
I know that the reaction meta for a lotta folks is 'release as soon as possible' but a lot of times I feel like these reactions could use a little polish. Missing the end-credits scene tells me how fast this got pushed out. I also think we're going a little hard on the counter-culture aspect of "We love Magneto and he did nothing wrong" when the dude decided to defend himself by ending civilization across the planet. He was a victim, sure, but it isn't like he debuted in this season and never did anything wrong his whole life either.
In my opinion, Charles and Magnus should not be leaders. They should be mentors and councilors. Cyclops and Storm need to lead. Everyone else is either too hot-headed or too contemplative. Also, Magneto is to blame because if he hadn't exacerbated the static in the original series there wouldn't even be a "Magneto Protocol." Being right about who hurt you doesn't give you the right to punish the world. That's the same mentality of the oppressors. When Cyclops had enough of humans, he did a much better job. Magneto may have been right, but he still did the wrong thing. 🖖😎👍

They showed what the avengers were doing. I mean the show has plot holes but I don't think that was one of them. Also interpreting somebody telling you that you're entitled to your opinion as "passive aggressive" is wild.
@@SonicBoyster Iron man ALWAYS goes rogue because he thinks he knows better! Now that the mutants are fighting, he wants to be diplomatic!?! Nah, Magneto wouldn't like that either. Wild? Really? @@heafie How much of these problems are just the same that are inherent in comics in general? Within Marvel (and DC, where I generally reside) there are _multiple_ examples of a character in one book facing off against some world-changing antagonist without any support, despite the fact there are numerous other heroes in their world. And in another you may have them all hanging out, and taking on a villain together. This is an X-Men show. They're the focus.
