There are multiple sources of the leak that can appear as fluid at the pan gasket so needs thorough inspection. Some customers advised to change pan gasket (repeatedly) to find that leak is actually elsewhere.
Have recently had this problem, as it would only leak after sitting for more than 1 day, and the more days it sat the more fluid there would be on the ground. After raising it up the fluid was sitting on the front left trans pan, but that doesn't mean it is leaking from the pan, because it is NOT. It is leaking from the "plug" just above that at the front, and is dripping down to the pan, so it looks like it is coming from the pan, but it's not. After it sits the fluid rises and leaks.
Dude. mine just sat for 6 days and started leaking..... THANKS
Thanks you!!!
"Lifetime" means up to 100k miles there after BMW no longer under warranty.
Hey bro does the pan come with a gasket?
thats funny he said they recomend to change it every 50 to 70k miles , i though BMW says is lifetime fuild...
bmw considers lifetime to 100 000 km
*Every 40k miles according to ZF transmission
do u get a warning for the leak??
Nope
