"Benjamin wasn't black. He was from new Jersey. I went to my senior prom with a Yankee! "😂👍🏼❤
The first time I heard that, I screamed loudly! LOL Good thing I wasn't in the audience! LOL
Dorothy's reaction is priceless..🤣
The best ever, Will aware. Kills me everytime, which is about 1M.
lmaoo that fact that being a yankee was worse!
Ha Ha Ha
I waved politely over his shoulder with my foot 😂😂 damn
I do not have this skill in life
Blanche was implying that they were having sex in the missionary position but with her legs resting on his shoulders.
Okay. Thanks for the description?
See, I interpreted it a little differently...
That's what I thought I heard lol
Interesting Fact:
It was not originally scripted for Blanche to have a Southern accent. Instead, it was Rue McClanahan’s idea to do so.
Yup! She basically said you don't make the character like you, you make yourself like the character!
Betty White was also supposed to play her character :P
I loved Rue McClanahan as Blanche! She was one of the greatest! I loved how Betty White sent her a greeting card when she was dying in the hospital tha said "I told you I would be the last surviving Golden Girl" and Rue loved it! These girls were a class act, all of them.
Betty White, who was originally supposed to play Blanche, stated she was ever so grateful that Rue took the part, because she herself could never have pulled off what Rue did as Blanche.
We all know that.
Rue’s delivery is just perfect. She played that part so well.
Absolutely.
I love them all so much but I think Blanche’s over the top delivery made me laugh the most.
She was flawless. They all were.
Can you imagine that the part was going to go to Betty White as she'd played a sex mad neighbour previously?!!!! Betty White said that Rue took it to heights shed never do. She is gloriously ott and a joy to watch, and I think an exaggerated version of the real Rue...who did marry several times, and on the subject of art imitating life, she loved cats...she mentioned in one episode that she liked cats!
Flawlessly
Loved this cast so much
"Dorothy, I swear. You snore worse than a sailor who passed out in an adult motel after a night of unbridled passion while I had to call a cab to take me ho-. Nevermind. The point is you snore."
Lmao!!!
Brendan Durham 😂😂🤣
"I'm Blanche Devereaux. That's French for...Blanche Devereaux"
Ha!
Why would you name the house blanche Devereaux
Well, yes, both names are actually French, so...
"I"m about as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo" ~Blanche
That's a great one
Boy, that's really jumpy.
Lol.
Still at the rodeo Blanche?
One of my favorites too 😊
My favorite Blanche line has got to be, “I’m wound up tighter than the girdle on a Baptist minister’s wife at an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast!” 😂😂
Love it
🤣😅🙋🏾♀️
Or..I'm as nervous as a virgin at a prison rodeo.
@@jamesbusjahn6962 that's my favorite! 😀
Yup. Or she's more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
I like the one where she uses her Southern heritage as an excuse to flirt. “I’m from the south, flirting part of my heritage.”
Yes!
tomgallowitz hahaha!
I have said that myself, being from Georgia.
It's true tho~
Meanwhile Rose is like, "What does that mean?" to which Dorothy says:
"Her mother was a slut too."
My only gripe was cutting out my favorite part of the Benjamin story.
"Black? Benjamin wasn't black... he was from New Jersey. I went to my senior prom with a YANKEE!"
I grew up in the Deep South. Trust me, it's a thing that most of 'em can't stand. One of my aunts was 'mortified' when I dated a guy from Washington, never mind the fact that he was a man.
@Tavon Fenwick Well... I'm a guy so saying that it's taboo is an understatement in the South.
Being bi gets different reactions.
I'm concernes that this is an actual problem in 2018...
@@scarlett6015 it's not quite what you're thinking. Generally these subjects are treated with the traditional Southern Charm.
For my family, it's backhanded compliments and rivalries.
No one gets shot over it or anything, and if you're Southern you get a pretty thick skin. There's a reason why the north can't stand how 'nice' Southerners are lol
@@nathanwinters2400 Oh well, "Kill 'em with kindness," I suppose. I hadn't thought that anyone was being shot over it, but I'm relieved either way. But I still can't help but see it as a bit problematic. Where I live, you don't see much division, it's nearly impossible here. So when I see that in the US, I get a bit concerned.
It's interesting to hear that there is truth to Blanche's story!
I'm a French Canadian and back in the day, some considered it was taboo for the French and English to mix and date, but I think it was because of a difference in religions (catholic and protestants). I joked with my boyfriend that homosexuality is very acceptable in our modernized community, but they might have a problem with him being English!
"That's cuz you've been busy Yankee-Doodlin'uh" 😭😭😭
I need to find a time to be able to use that one.
I want to use that as a ringtone or something.
Interesting. For a person in particular or your overall ring tone?
LMAO
@@StayGoldenGirls OVERALL 😂
Blanche was comfortable in her own skin & she gave zero fs.
Truth.
Tony Molatto what’s ‘fs’ ?
chicagodaddy1 fucks
that's why i love her!
I tried to handle the whole thing like a lady I waved politely over bobby joes shoulder with my foot 😂😂 Dorothy and roses face 😂
Never has there ever been 4 people so perfectly casted in a show.
💗💗💔👍
Ehm, Sex and the City?
Married with Children
I love Lucy
By far, my most favorite show ever put on television. The writers deserve all the recognition and praise ever. This show, raised me. ❤ R.I.P Ladies, you are forever loved. 4:22
"In English Jethro!" 🤣🤣🤣 Dorothy has no chill.
Ha!
I love her heels clicking on the floor. lol
Yes!!!
Every episode! ❤
Kat G l love that too!
About Blanche's Benjamin was a Yankee story: I have a friend who grew up in Atlanta, and he told me that he was about 14 before he realized that "damn yankee" was in fact two words. LOL
Love it!
LOL!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At first I thought it's just a name of a band, Damn Yankees. I never thought it's a swear word for Yankees 😂
lol!
😂😂😂
"I didn't care! I knew what ecstasy was!" Lol oh Blanche, gotta love her 😂❤
“I waved politely over his shoulder... with my foot”. Funniest thing EVER! I literally choked in my food!😜😜😜
;)
What? No scenes with Big Daddy or Clayton? Those are some of her most southern moments.
Not on this one. I am saving that for a special list about Blanche and her family, since we have Clayton. Virgina. Big Daddy. Want to do some Devereaux family tree.
Oh fiddle dee dee!
Fretnung.
@@s292010 Fiddle Dee Dee??? (In my Dorothy voice) 😂😂
LMAO!!!!! lol
Rue was fantastic as Blanche. Well deserved Emmy 💜
Truth.
Best one from Blanche...’I hate phone calls in the middle of the night, they make me feel as nervous as a virgin at a prison rodeo!’ 😂😂😂😂
Boom
I do declaaare, your Blanche videos charm the morning dew right off the honeysuckle!
Thanks for helping keep my favorite Golden Girl alive! ❤😍😇
Ahhhh interesting I love it!!
Another Blanche line I love " I'm as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo" ❤
"Boy, that's...pretty jumpy."
“Sleepin’ with ya bruthas is suthern.” I love that line, though it’s not true.
This is really late!! But, she meant brother with brother, that's the guilty secret!!
Mmmm, nooo.... 🤔
In Alabama, it's heard of.
It ain’t? Are you sure?
Oh please 🙄 incest is best in the south, who do you think you’re lying to??? But, the Appalachia’s have you beat lol
They cut off the best part: "I went to my senior prom with a Yankee!" 😂
Okay
There was an episode when Blanche dressed up as a Southern belle when her daddy came in town for a visit.
Was that episode called "Big Daddy"?
OMG when she said "come sit here betwix us" 😭
Blanche: Oh fiddle dee dee.
Dorothy: fiddle dee dee.
I think Blanche needs a hobby
And to think that that accent reminds of Celine Boudreaux
I like the one where Blanche explains her date in southern talk and Dorothy interprets
That is a good one!!
“ I tried to handle the whole thing like a lady!... I waved politely over Bobby Joe’s shoulder with my fooOoot!” I’m dead. 🤣
Ha
I remember a couple of years ago when I was 12, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up in the middle of the night to find the Golden Girls on the TV and I've loved it ever since ❤️
That may have been the best thing that ever happened to you.
I must've been slow when I was 12. I didn't understand most of the stuff they said until I became an adult. Good for you though.
Her and Dorothy are my favorite 💖💖💖
She not Her. Fix it!! GN
Mines too!
Polar opposites hahaha
"I waived politely over Bobby Joe's shoulder with my foot"
Pure gold, just priceless!!
❤️❤️🔱
Rue was so beautiful. I had the biggest crush.
She is my crush too! 🔥🔥🔥
Blanche was fantastic!!! Rue took that role and ran with it.
She is awesome
This is great! I have one for you that's one of my favorites. From the episode "Till Death Do We Volley", Blanche begins to tell a story about acceptance.
Blanche:
Fine. Anyway, I was about eight years old when I first met Cathy Lee on the playground. We became fast friends. Just as thick as Louisiana blackstrap molasses on a stack of johnnycakes as high as an elephant's knee---
Dorothy:
On a riverboat floating down the Mississippi delta... FINISH THE DAMN STORY, BLANCHE!
Yes!!
XD i LOVE her!!!
And yes, many of Blanche's "southern" moments doubled as set-ups for Dorothy one-liners.
“That was something I had to accept.”
Blanche: "I'm sorry we don't all come from places as socially acceptable as Brooklyn, Dorothy."
"That was good, Blanche. Now do Brer Rabbit."
"In *English* Jethro! In English!!"
💚 💚 Love Dorothy's salty comebacks!
I hear you.
"In English Jethro! In English!" 😂
Yoooo
Blanche Devereaux is as Southern as Southern can be! No question about it!
By far, my most favorite show ever put on television. The writers deserve all the recognition and praise ever. This show, raised me. ❤ R.I.P Ladies, you are forever loved.
❤️❤️❤️
I love the part when it was raining.
Blanche: "Oh I love the rain. It reminds of my first kiss".
Dorothy: "Aww first kiss in the rain."
Blanche: " No. First kiss in the shower."
Yesss
Blanche: [telling a story about her friend, Cathy Lee]. The two of us became fast friends, just as thick as Louisiana blackstrap molasses on a stack of johnnycakes as high as an elephant's knee-
Dorothy: ...on a riverboat floating down the Mississippi delta... FINISH THE DAMN STORY, BLANCHE!
Blanche: Anyway, it was at a Southern seafood fry that I first dragged Cathy Lee over to meet my parents. Well, my mama took one look at Cathy Lee and forbade me ever to see her again!
Rose: Why?
Blanche: Her mother was not in the Daughters of the Confederacy. Oh, how my heart went out to poor Cathy Lee, standin' there while our servants snickered at her servants. But Mama told me to break off the relationship or I wouldn't get brand new ridin' boots for Christmas. So I did.
Dorothy: Blanche, how is this a story about acceptance?
Blanche: Oh - because years later, to get back at me, Cathy Lee slept with my daddy! That was something I had to accept. Mama accepted it too. Along with a brand new Cadillac El Dorado for her birthday. You know, my family had a few dollars and I loved them dearly, but when you get down to it, basically they were trash.
Haha!!
I am so glad you posted this entire scene; it's one of my favorites!
👍😂I don't remember this but I'm loving it! Thanks!
Sounds like a Blanche thing
One of my favorite scenes was when Blanche wanted to join the Daughters of the Confederacy or a similar organization and she had to prove her Sothern Heritage...then she found out one of her ancestors was not only a Yankee from Buffalo NY...but Jewish as well. Dorthy's snide comment was priceless. "Instead of Fiddle-dee-de, it's more Deedle-deedle-deeda-dum" (last part is sung to "If I were a rich man")
love
I love the Golden Girls 😍😍
Me too!!
I absolutely love those bright colored clothes that Blanche wears
They are fantastic.
She’s so iconic. I love her.
:)
“Blanche, wake up. My wife will be home any minute”
“OH- WHERE’S MY SHOES!?”
And that scramble!
Blanche: "we mature faster in the South I think it's the heat''
Dorothy: "I think its the Gin!'
forgot which episode it was from but every time I see Blanche I hear that exchange for some reason LOL
Ha
One of the funniest shows ever. What a gift to have this show.
Sure is
My favorite Blanche line is from the episode with her sister. Her sister says, "You have a lovely home," and Blanche says, "I heard the way you said, 'lovely'." I still quote it, and now my daughter, who has never seen the show, says it, too.
Lovellllly
The episode where they tearing down her grandma house: Blanche when i was a little girl all the boys from the neighborhood would serenade me at the balcony "I see london i see france, I see Blanche's underpants"!😂😂..and when her dad was coming to visit she went into a diatribe about men discussing business with brandy and the women would retire to the veranda sipping julips and trading pecan pie recipies!!
We will be doing a new kinda list with her and for sure it will show up in the future.
@@StayGoldenGirls cant wait!👍
Actually, it was that the men would discuss business on the veranda and the ladies would retire to the shade of an old magnolia tree to sip mint juleps and exchange prize winning pecan pie recipes. I know this because I have watched "The Golden Girls" since I was a child. When I was little, I would stay with my grandma Betty- "Grammy" as I called her- after school and she was a big fan of both "The Golden Girls" and "I Love Lucy." Now, I am a fan of those shows and watching them on Hulu makes me feel as though Grammy is still alive and sitting next to me on my living room couch. Grammy died when I was fifteen; I miss her a lot, but I'm doing okay.
@@michaellovely6601 that's it! thanks!..lol
GOD rest Rue McClanahan's soul!!
Remember that episode in S2 I think, where Rose replaced the Hairspray with Pepperspray and Blanche used it. That whole scene had me dead 😂😂
Yes!
My personal favorite is when she's looking through her family history to qualify for some super southern club and finds out that her great-grandmother was from Buffalo. It made my happy, being an upstate-newyorker, myself!
Oh yesssssssssssssss
Feldman. I’m a Feldman dammit!
There there poor Yankee! 😁😁😁
Gotta love those Golden Girls!
The moment I saw the title I was sure Benjamin's story was in! I love how funny Blanche is. Benjamin wasn't black. He was from New Jersey. I went to my senior prom with a YANKEE!!!
Lots of love to your channel and videos
I am saving that one for a different list. Don't you worry. It was a tough call not to include on this one.
@@StayGoldenGirls Can't wait.
Was just watching Golden Girls on Logo last night when Blanche's gay brother was getting married. Thanks for making this!
Thank you for checking it out!
Sophia: Oh look they're skipping...lol
"Eat dirt and die, trash!"
😂😂😂😂
Blanche was brutal. All of the girls were. Love them all ❤❤❤❤
So brutal.
Blanche's '....waved politely' line is quite possibly her funniest, imo.
❤️❤️❤️
God, she knows how to tell a story. I could listen to her hours. She was a great actrice. R.I.P.
I hear you on that!
@@StayGoldenGirls It's true. I think she can make a hole camp of teenagers listen to her in front of the fire camp with all of the mouths closed and no whisper:))
This show was fire.
Agreed
"I knew what ecstasy was. All she could do was walk around with a dictionary on her head." 💜💝😅
;)
I loved all those southern stories of Blanche
Me too
It's a metaphor like when I say men are blinded by my beauty there not really blinded. They get there sight back in couple of days.. 😁
:)
You missed the one with the short person where Blanche was having trouble not making fun of him and said “unsouthern” which was the same scene as “God, I wish I was dead!” That’s my favorite one! It’s clean and funny! That whole little bit is Fantastic! Did you make this because I commented that Blanche was my favorite in another video?
Also, that whole hanging gag is great! Lol
Yes that is from the same episode where Blanche talks about Benjamin. I love this scene you mentioned. Once she says unsouthern then she goes back to the hall saying "Shrimp?" 😂😂😂
There are more lists coming we will be using that for sure. We promise.
"A Little Romance" 😅
I ended up saying "God, I wish I was dead" when I made a complete fool of myself in front of my history teacher my Junior year of high school. I really don't like to talk about it.
Could never choose between Blanche and Dorothy
Sophie lurking in the background during #7 looking like a Dementor from Harry Potter 😂
Nice catch!
All the ladies were such great actresses that throughout the series they make their anecdotes so compelling.
;)
My grandma loved this show. 7years she's passed now. We use to watch this together at night when I was a kid. I can't believe how funny this show was.
I love to hear about grandma's bringing golden girls to the world.
I have always loved the Golden Girls and I always will. I was heartbroken when Bea Arthur died. And a few years later I found out Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty had passed too. They were all such talented actresses 😓
Such great women
"I waved politely over Bobby Jo's shoulder......with my foot!" 😊..The mental picture!🙄
Ha!
"benjiman wasn't black he was from new Jersey"
"I went to my senior prom with a Yankee"
The way she says Yankee!!!
@@StayGoldenGirls I went to mah senior prom with a YANKEH!!!!
#4: Blanche recalling her senior prom. YOU RUINED THE PUNCHLINE! 'Benjamin was from New Jersey." So? The joke is 'I WENT TO MY SENIOR PROM WITH A YANKEE!!!'
Okay
I don’t know why, but every time I hear Blanche’s Southern belle accent when she says certain things make me laugh so hard. RIP Rue McClanahan
RIP Indeed.
You didn't finish the #4! "... He was from New Jersey. I went to the dance with a YANKEEEE!" 🤣
Sorry you feel that way
@@StayGoldenGirls lol.. It's not how I feel it's facts 😘
She is my grandmother's favorite. Incidentally, she also looks a lot like my "old south" grandmother. My favorite was always Dorothy (because I'm the librarian of the group), and my mom likes Rose. We all sit together on the sofa and watch it together often. It's really the only show that brought all three of us together :-) I'll always be thankful for that. I miss you forever, Betty. Your presence will definitely be missed.
💖💖
BRUH I LOVE MISS BLANCHE!!!
She is amazing
2 had me howlin 😂😂 dorthys response killed me
Rue had that accent down pat! Along with the body language! A lovely lady now gone from us, as has Estelle and Bea. Betty White turned 97 yesterday and thankfully is still with us! But The Golden Girls has been a favorite of mine for a while now, since I never got to see it in prime time due to work, I'm thankful for this great site! It will help us "stay golden!"
Thank you for checking us out!
When Big Daddy lets her down for something and she gets all haughty and says “oh Fiddle-di-di” 😂😂😂😂
"... your sweat words could charm the morning dew right off the honeysuckle ... " ha ha ha .... I think that mystery murder weekend is one of the best episodes of GG
Libertine is an amazing episode
No matter how many times I watch them I laugh 😂 like it was the first time
Because it is amazing
They couldn't have written this show any better, top notch writing and acting.
I hear you
I love them! Wow..
So clever and brilliantly written/improvised, performed. Timeless great comedy
Glad you enjoyed it!
#7 should have been #1. Every time I hear that story I laugh out loud LOL 👍🏾🤣
Well I hear you. These videos do not actually rank them, they are listed in no particular order.
I loved the scene in the kitchen in season 1 with her and Dorothy when Rose had her friend from the psychiatry center the short doctor over. Dorothy is trying to help Blanche to not be as anxious and then Blanche says that if she feels uncomfortable then the guest will feel uncomfortable and she couldn't do that because "it would be unSouthern" and Dorothy says to her "that's a good belle"
Yes!
Classy lady. She turned every act up.😍💖
Yeah she did.
"That was good Blanche ... now do Br'er Rabbit." LMAO!
Yes!
From The Flu Episode,Blanch to Dorothy, I Like to Know What Other Electrical Appliance You Using Under That Blanket.😁
They are incredible actors. Just incredible
Absolutely they are/were.
I enjoyed Blanche's occasional rants. She went hellfire and brimstone after a man had stolen from her...to which Dorothy responded "When you pray, the kitchen almost becomes a chapel." lol
Yes!!!
"He was sent up the river on a morals charge.." That one gets me everytime
😂
Ha
You forgot "just as thick as black strapped molasses on a stack of Johnny cakes as high as en elephant's knees"😂
We will be doing more lists promise saving it for future.
Funny, I thought I'd seen every GG episode (and most of them more than once) but I don't remember that bit about Ben saying "Hi, Blanche, stay away from my grandsons!"
Yay for surprise a
After much deliberation I have decided that Blanche's season 7 hair is my favourite Blanche hair.
It is a good look
I love that they all came from different backgrounds, the tough NYC gal, the southern Belle, and the farmer's daughter.
❤️♥️
Number 5 was so hilarious.....that whole episode
:)
My favorite Blanche Devereaux Southern-bell moment:
“Doctor Newman is a guest in our home. If I’m self-conscious, he’ll be ill at ease. I can’t allow that to happen. It would be... un-Southern.”
