- Dorothy Zbornak, Sophia Petrillo, Blanche Devereaux, and Rose Nylund may not have celebrated Halloween (what's up with that?!), but that did not stop them from putting on some wild costumes over the 7 seasons. In honor of Halloween, and all dress up, Stay Golden rounded up the 13 Times The Golden Girls Got into Costume. Things got pretty wild!

I like the episode were Blanche gives Sophia a make over, especially when Blanche says, "I took and 84 year old woman and made her look like a 65 year old drag queen". 😂

If that episode was around 1987 or so, Betty was 65 - not in her 50s. She was born in 1922.

The youngest, Rue Mcclanahan a.k.a Blanche, was in her 50s (which, by the way, isn't old at all!), but Betty White was the oldest and in her mid-60s ...which makes her legs and general shape even more impressive! 👏🏻 Whenever I see the rehearsal scene from the last of the episodes above (the cabaret dance), I go "Lordly lord, check out those straight, smooth athletic legs!" 😲👌🏻

The Sonny and Cher bit will always be my favorite. A wonderfully random moment made even better by Blanche's accompanying Cheech and Chong comment, and cemented in the history books with Sophia's "I'm Sonny Bono, you idiot!"
But the nun scene is a *very* close second.
No shame in the old Halloween costume game. I, too, once went in an old soccer uniform when I procrastinated a bit too much, and another year found myself wearing one of my lab coats in a sad, last-minute attempt to dress as "Sexy Lab Assistant." (Hey, it was college. It was acceptable back then ☺️)

@@StayGoldenGirls There was an episode where Blanche was engaged to a rich man. When they're on his private plane, the boyfriend and Blanche are talking. He turns his back while talking to her, and she goes to adjust her seat. The back of the seat goes all the way down, and Blanche is struggling to reset it while the boyfriend has no idea what is going on. I was choking so much from laughing while watching the scene that I had to stand up to stop from choking. Ruth McClanahan was brilliant. All of them were.
