SOPHIA: Picture it: Sicily: 2020. I was sitting in my house. ROSE: Then what, Sophia? SOPHIA: That's it. We sat in our houses. It was a pandemic. BLANCHE: Ooh, I bet there were a lot of babies born that year. ROSE: Why, Blanche? DOROTHY: There was a stork invasion, Rose. ROSE: A stork invasion and a pandemic in the same year? What are the chances? SOPHIA: The same as Dorothy getting a date on both Friday and Saturday night. DOROTHY: Shady Pines, ma! SOPHIA: Good luck with that, pussycat. They're on lockdown. I always enjoy watching Dorothy and Sophia in scenes together. They made such a good and funny mother and daughter in the series. I especially loved Dorothy's reaction to her mother's stories. Thank you for the video. The golden girls always lifts my spirit. Stay safe and stay golden.

Iconic. Sophia Petrillo will go down as one of the best female characters in television ever. PS: I'm currently watching Hot In Cleveland with Betty White and it's awesome. Highly recommended.
@@suzawilo yes! It's a little corny at times and off putting but the performances are perfect and betty white is just hilarious. I'm currently on season 4

And that man....was *famous person*" and then the sound of Dorothy slamming in frustration. And now I can get my fix of such quote re-watches thanks to this video.
#6 "It was the worst of times, it was the worst of times." LMAO 😆😆 Sophia cracks me up at the start of her 'Picture It' stories. I love my Golden Girls! ❤

Sophia: Quality time has to come naturally, it happens when you're not thinking about it. Like-when we're cutting vegetables together, that's quality time. Dorothy: I was hoping for something a little more magical than that. Sophia: Let me tell you a little story. When I was a kid in Sicily, I loved lightning bugs. I'd stand out in the field and watch them light up the night sky. That was magical. That was-spectacular. I tell you, I saw a thousand points of light. It was a kinder gentler America. I turned to my wife Barbara and I said- Dorothy: Ma, what the hell are you talking about?! Sophia: Oh! Sorry, I must've lapsed into George Bush's inauguration speech. Where was I? Dorothy: Lightning bugs! Sophia: Right. I liked them so much, I catched them in glass jars so I could watch them light up whenever I wanted. But they always died. Dorothy: I see what you mean they needed their freedom. Sophia: No, they needed their air. I always forgot to punch holes in the lid. The point is it's the same with all magical moments. You can't capture them forever. No matter what Kodak tells you.
9:55 the way she says 'abodonzza!' to the pizza is funny! BTW, Courtney, this brings me back to hearing my grandma's stories of when my mom was little. Granted she died 6yrs ago and is no longer with us, this Sophia compilation made me feel like I was in her lap again.
You should do a video with Rose roasting the golden girls with snarky comments. I was watching an episode where Rose was just roasting everyone. I was laughing though the whole thing.
Omg I love this channel, and I’m in the process of rewatching the series and had some ideas for compilations! Can you do the best Blanche/Sophia moments or the best Blanche/Rose moments? Like Blanche and Sophia getting scammed in the mall or when Blanche was dating the guy in a wheelchair and pretended Sophia was her grandmother (and Sophia tried doing a southern accent) 😂 And Blanche and Rose had some great scenes like when they danced together!
I've always thought that Sophia came to Brooklyn as a preteen because pre-teen foreigners can usually change their accents to American but Sophia came to America as a young adult!
She says "Abbondanza!" which is the slogan for Mama Celeste frozen pizza. It is Italian for 'abundance.' Furthermore, Sophia's chin flick is akin to giving someone the middle finger.
The girls are having a garage remodeled. It looks like a mess and it's taking forever. The contractor comes in and Blanche is complaining. Contractor: Well do you want it fast or do you want it good? Sophia: Before you answer that Blanche the guy is talking about the garage.
The heater has broken and they're all freezing.(Makes no sense in Florida, but ...) Dorothy joins Sophia in her bed with an electric blanket in her room. Then Blanche comes in and begs to join them under the blanket - she does. Blanche suddenly asks what that noise was. Thanks for posting. The current situation reminds me of one of the original Star Trek episodes where a planet is about to be destroyed by its sun. Most of the people on the planet have gone to a "library" to pick out a year and place in the past to escape to after they step through a time travel portal. Watching Golden Girls is like traveling back in time when things were simpler and more carefree (less political bickering and less political correctness BS). I would love to go back in time to the 1980s. Even the music was much better then.
Dorothy: ma, I have a feeling you're lying. Rose: be positive. Dorothy: ok I'm positive you're lying!. I repeated this scene multiple times and I gotta use that if I'm into the same situation.
