Blanche: Dorothy, your husband's here. Dorothy: I don't have a husband, call the police. Stan: Your ex-husband. Dorothy: I'll call the police Stan: Dorothy, try to control yourself, it's been a while and I need some rest. (Gets kicked off the bed by Dorothy) Stan: What the hell is that for?! Dorothy: You're not getting in this bed, Stanley!!!!! Stan: Then, where am I supposed to sleep?! Dorothy: On the floor like any dog!!!! Stan: Hi, it's been real.... (Dorothy slams the door in his face. As she turns around and leaves, the doorbell rings again. Dorothy goes back to open the door to face Stan.) Stan: Dorothy, it's me, Stan. Didn't you recognize me. Dorothy: Of course I did. That's why I slammed the door in your face. Stan: Dorothy, we've got a stack of papers to go over before the surgery. Dorothy: Surgery?! Sophia: Finally going through with that hair transplant. Stan: Sophia, not everyone know this isn't real. (pointing to his toupee) Dorothy: Oh please! Stevie Wonder could tell that's a rug!
sadly he doesn't care about her. He's afraid of being alone, and Dorothy is the only woman who unintentionally still tolerates him. It sucks how they made his character. I hate how she ended up very unrealistically with Blanche's uncle. I wish Stan had redeemed himself truly and became a better man and they got back together.
6:37 “Wait a minute…You want ME to live with HIM in the same apartment?!” “That’s right.” “But there are bugs there! And they’ll think Stan is their leader!”
The two of them were brilliant together. My favorite scene with Dorothy and Stan was when they had to share the rundown apartment and Stan starts playing the harmonica. 😂❤
The last scene is truly the best one. Stan giving his blessing to Dorothy and Lucas. He may not have been the perfect husband, but he's willing to let go of the past and move on.
There was a very touching scene, at the end of the episode My Brother, My Father, in which Stan, after having asked Dorothy to remarry, denies what he said and says goodbye, leaving Dorothy sad as Gershwin's "Embraceable You" plays softly. I haven't seen it on any compilation and would love to have it. How could I get it?
@@emanabdelhamid7661 Yes, it's one of my favourite scenes, I'd love to have it, but I can't find it anywhere, not even in all the compilations of Dorothy and Stan scenes.
@@sweethistortea I know, thanks, but I'd like to be able to download that particular scene so I can watch it whenever I want, without having to pay for a platform, but I don't know how to do it.
I didn't realize the bald brothers/bald minority bit had already been used in comedy. I thought it was an original Larry David joke when it was used in Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Earlier in the episode, when Dorothy found out about their debt to the IRS, she told Stanley that she hoped some big, bald convict named Bubba would pick him to be his girlfriend if he ended up in jail. She was insinuating that Stan and Bubba would be getting married and fine china would be an item on their wedding registry.
@@levifout60882 Yup, that's the one. I always enjoyed Stan and Dorothy's verbal exchanges. Dorothy's biting sarcasm, Stanley's lack of insight, and their mutual insults just made their scenes together a pleasure to watch. I think that a lot of people could identify with the exes who just couldn't let go.
Great show, but a couple of things have bothered me about its content. Dorothy mentioned more than once that she was drunk when she got pregnant in Stan's car. Excuse me, but wouldn't that constitute rape? The other thing is that Sophia mentioned more than once that Dorothy was her favorite child. Is that really a good thing for any parent to say or think? I know, I sound like I am overanalyzing, but I am just putting this out there.
I understand what you're saying. Mind you, I haven't binged watched this series in forever, so I might have missed some things, but from what I understand, it seemed like Dorothy and Stan were equally drunk or at least tipsy because she could recall details. So I don't think it was rape, but I would have to go back to see for myself
Uncle Sam doesn't like to hear that....
Aunt Dorothy doesn't enjoy saying it... 😂
Dorothy’s one liners were freaking hilarious. Loved her astounding wit and the way she always used to slam the door in Stan’s face.😂
Bea Arthur was an amazing woman and actress! RIP a legend!
Yes she was
I adore the Golden Girls! They all fed off each other and they all made the show.
True !!!!😁
I just crack up every time the guy behind the desk just addresses at Stan
“Then cut the CRAP Pisan.”
Dorothy: Just shut up and put your hair on!: And let me know where you and Bubba register for your china pattern! 😅😅😅
We have ears, we heard it
lol
😂 love it…. The golden girls was classic !

My favourite line here is “I could vomit looking at you” 😂
My absolute favorite!!!😂
That's how I feel about my ex husband as well.
I don’t condone for what Stan has done in the past but deep down, he cares deeply about Dorothy.

"I could vomit just looking at you " 😅😂I'm dead
Between dorothy and sophia my stomach hurts every episode. Dorothys one liners and non verbal cues were amazing 😂😂❤❤
6:37 “Wait a minute…You want ME to live with HIM in the same apartment?!”

Dorothy has a beautiful singing voice.
"Stanley, you're missing my point. We NAMED it!" 🤣🤣🤣

Larry David stole a lot of material...
“I could vomit just looking at you” 😂
2. Funny iconic TV exes!
We're going to jail 😂😂😂
Thank you for this complication .....I love these scenes

Stanley was such a loser

"Cut the crap, paisan" got a Like

That airhead go take shorthand 🤣🤣🤣🤣
"WE NAMED IT!!" Only funny the first time said.

Sophia never said Dorothy was her favorite....she always said Gloria was her favorite child.
The show was written and Aires in the 80s. There were many things that at that time were not considered problematic but nowadays are.
Seriously shut up
