How could you not love a guy that tells you your beauty is the gossip of the world and looks at you like he means it. Hurrem wrote poetry to him as well. Being from a family of artists I'm pretty sure it was there mutual poetic natures that make them fall in love.
even hurrem didn't expect to be appointed as harrem organizer. here it looks like hurrem doesn't have any obsession except trying to survive and sincerely love suleiman
I agree. It seemed as if Hurrem expected maybe Gulfem would be put in charge, and Gulfem would be a good choice. Hurrem was more focused on getting rid of Mah, since that meant any power Mah had would be gone.
Exactly!! Many of her enemies assumed she wanted the throne, but she only wanted to her her children safe till the end. Thankfully she told Gulfem this and Gulfem realized there was more to her than she thought.
I love how Hurrem didn't even think she got appointed. She thought it was Gulfem lol. Proves she never cared about the power, she just needed it to survive and keep hers kids safe
The realization Ibrahim gets when she says "theres one difference what cant be changed! Im a free woman and you r a slave!!"dang! On point! To shut ibrahims big mouth.😂
This scene might be the most powerful scene of the whole series. This is something Kosem Sultan series couldn’t even come closer to. Truly magnificent ❤
I think Hurrem did not fully expect to be chosen to rule the harem right away, she obviously wanted to but not fully convinced that Suleiman would appoint her right away. She must've thought Gulfem will have a higher chance than her. She just hated Mahidevran and how she treats her and her children, that's why she did all she can to get rid of her.
I realized more than ever, all Hurrem desire is to protect her children and yo bask in Sulieman’s love. She understood that in order to protect her children she has to become more powerful than her enemies!
Yes Nigar and Hurrem have been able to put together such a great team as they are very clever womens... It bothers me when we know what happened next between this two womens :(
@@hurremsultanas Ibrahim beat, choked, and SLAMMED Nigar into a wall multiple times in an earlier episode. How the writers decided she'd fall in love with him, I have no idea...

I agree 100%, Ibrahim and Hurrem together would've been a force. Sadly he supported the wrong Sultana. In the end Ibrahim was smart enough to help Mustafa rule with his brothers and with a Stepmom like Hurrem backing you Mustafa would've been fine. The only problem was Mahidevran.
Actually in real life, Hurrem did become Haseki and ruled the harem until her death in 1558 She reign as Haseki was very successful because she did keep order in the harem and made sure it was managed effectively.
While watching this I released another of Mahidevran mistakes was choosing Fatima over Gulsah. For all her faults and there are many Gulsah was loyal to a fault. The only reason she swapped sides is because Mahidevran tossed her away. Fatma on the other hand was only loyal to her self. If her son had survived I don't dought that she would have tried to kill Mahidevran possibly even Mustafa.
There’s a quote by some famous CEO that basically says you never fire the guy who’s made a million dollar mistake and replace him with a new guy, because the guy who makes a mistake rewards forgiveness with loyalty. A new guy makes it a two million dollar mistake. Same principle.
Can't believe i watched this as a kid years ago. Even then, i was amazed (also half scared, actually) by the steps hurrem took, amazed by how clever she plays politics in that place.

Hurrem reworded loyalty while all Mahidevran would do is orders. Also, when Hurrem found out about Diana she took her in. Same as with Sumbul. She also takes in the smartest servants that have a mind of their own when needed. Gulsah wasn't the smartest but at least she was loyal as heck. That kind of loyalty isn't to be thrown away so easily.
Mahidevran isn't very clever. Whenever she has a problem she goes whining to her former lover and doesn't understand that this is getting on his nerves. Hurrem is way smarter. Contrary to Mahidevran she never complains but just states facts in a way that make Suleiman take her side. Gosh, what a career! From slave to queen and manager of the harem. A pity her sons couldn't be like her. Instead they fought each other. The design of Hurrem's crown is very unusual. I have never seen a similar. Beautiful!

@@enieniz Exactly. She basically told him to be cautious cause he was the first in line to the throne. That's smart cause Hurrem and others did want him dead. She even told him to be cautious of his father, because Sultans did kill their children and Suleyiman signed his death warrant in the end. She also told him to be fair above all else and to look after his people- that's the most important thing for a future ruler to do. She also told him to be generous to the poor- how easily so many rulers overlook their most unfortunate citizens. So what exactly did she tell him that was so bad? Become a better ruler than your father? Everyone should want their children to grow up and live better and do better than they did. Suleyiman should have been telling Mustafa this himself. After all, did they not want the dynasty to grow, thrive, and continue on stronger than ever after they are long gone?

Anne Boleyn and Hurrem had two completely incomparable situations. If Anne had as much sons as Hurrem did then she'd certainly be an unstoppable queen, but (through no fault of her own) couldn't give birth to one and Henry wasn't as in loved and understanding as Suleiman (who'd still love Hurrem even if she hadn't had a son).
@@princess7jasmine look at llivia Drusilla, she gave emperor Augustus no kids, yet she was unstoppable, why, because she was smart enough to not make enemies to those those the Augustus, Anne made enemies with those close to Henry, she was quick tempered loud and impetuous and she had no allies or son's. Anne got in her own way.
@@chykim1 Again, drastically different circumstances. You also forgot to factor different culture, religion, and personalities of their husband. Henry was literally the last male of the Tudor dynasty, hence his obsession with having a son, so Anne was going to meet the same fate one way or another. And if you watch the MC show, Hurrem on the show acted far worse than Anne. Ottoman culture also allowed Suleiman to have a harem of women, so if Hurrem was like Anne Boleyn then he can easily sleep with other women and break his vows to Hurrem.
@@chykim1 Henry VIII would have gotten rid of Anne even if she didn't make enemies of people like Cromwell if she didn't give him a son. Catherine of Aragon was enemies with Wolsey but Henry VIII didn't divorce her because of that. He left her over the lack of living sons. It is ultimately the same with Anne. Your comment does a great injustice to Anne. Roman succession law was very different from the laws in medieval and early modern periods of England (and Europe) at large so comparing Drusilla to Anne or Hurrem isn't a good comparison. Having a son was much more important for monarchs during the early modern period than it was for an early Roman Emperor. The Romans were also much more open to adopting heirs if they didn't have legitimate sons however, Henry VIII couldn't even manage to get Henry Fitzroy legitimized as his son.

In real life, she went through wonderful good things. None of the 🤡 in this series have access to her except Hafsa and Gulfem and they loved, loved her.
Mahidevran never understood that if she just accepted that Suleiman had chosen another her life would have been better. Ok, but I have to admit that this trap for Mahidevran was really poor planned 😂 I can't believe that Suleiman believed it. Like, who the heck would tell assasin to scream his name while killing - litteraly everyone could hear it. Of course, there was "Kösem Sultan 's greetings", but at the point when no one could defy Kösem as she was a regent to Sultan at this moment and Dilruba and Halime were murderers of previous Sultan.

To be fair, I think Suleiman was more inclined to believe it considering the debt troubles that Mahidevran was incurring coupled with her ego that she wasn't afraid to flex after she took charge. She was already making enemies of almost everyone around her, so clearly she was desperate to regain control over the situation. So it's not entirely unreasonable to think that she would do something like this if she thought she could get away with it, hence the loud proclamation from the assassin.

Hurrem not only made plots, she really loved Suleiman and for me her love to him was the biggest force. She could marry the Lalla Pasha son, leave harem and became free woman, living with her husband in comfortable conditions. But she decided to stya as a slave in harem (even when she was Sultana, she was still a slave) but close to the man she really loved
Mahidevran: Hurrem did it again Ibrahim: *Thinking (You're telling me) Mahidevran: His Majesty dismissed me Ibrahim: *Still thinking (Aww, poor you. You think you have problems) Mahidevran: Do something, prevent it Ibrahim: (Realizes how one woman is smart and resourceful enough to wreck him and her fellow woman who's crying to him at that moment.) Mahidevran: Don't you hear me Ibrahim: (I've had it) Be quiet now. I don't wanna hear you... Ibrahim wasn't kidding that he'd been picking up after her for years. The poisoning, the stealing of the ring, beating, her defying Suleiman and demanding to be free, etc. A one sided alliance. What did she ever do for Ibrahim??
This series is one of the best I‘ve ever seen. The main actors are Oscar quality throughout, even side actors are wonderful. The costumes are magnificent, most of the time adapted to all colours in the set. Good make-up made the actors look natural. The second Hürrem was difficult for me in the beginning but turned out really good later on. I loved when there was always bad weather when there was bad weather between the people. The soundtrack is heavenly.
Fun facts: Mustafa's name means "The chosen" Mehmet's means "The praised" Selim' means "The healthy" It wasn't even intentional (nobody knew what would happen), but their names fit them so well. Mustafa was chosen by the people and tradition to rule. Mehmet was praised by his father and the golden prince . Selim was neither, but he stayed healthy and strong to the day of his father's death (minus the alcohol problem lol)
I will said it as politely as possible. Once again this in my only opinion ( it concerned both history and in the show). 1) I have change my mind on Mahidevran ( even if like Hurrem I don't consider her as evil to the start , the evils are Suleiman, Ibrahim, Rustem, etc) she is not stupid even if she can brought a lot of problem on herself, and she was smart enough to give up her love to Suleiman and realize that he is the true danger to her son( even Hurrem couldn't give up her love to Suleiman and even if she had a lot of doubt that Suleiman would kill one of her son, she stay loyal to him that's why she couldn't protect all her children even if she was very smart). Mahidevran make a lot of problem on herself, and couldn't rule the harem even if she had a golden opportunity to have more power. But now I understand, after the horrible thing that Suleiman did to her, she was in vengeance and was not able to rule for this time because of that... Suleiman know that and seize this opportunity to threw her ( I think that even to the start he didn't like her, he only want the first opportunity to give up on her because he know that she would kill him if she had doubt that one day he will kill Mustafa unlike Hurrem). And then again he try to appear to the "nice" guy... I understand better who Ibrahim is holding ( yes I remember the lie he told to Hurrem when he said "I never kill an innocent men") 2) I love that the show justify abuse and insult make by Sultan to the concubine ( I will talk about it again when we will have the introduction of Turhan in Kosem). In history Suleiman really insult Mahidevran to the face of the world and makes her look as an idiot ( which she was not just like Hurrem, I think that they were very smart but in their own ways ) by create a very good title to Hurrem, free her and let her rule the harem and give nothing to Mahidevran as compensation. I can understand that Suleiman prefer Hurrem give her a better salary but I disaprove that ( even if I think that he wait that Mahidevran leaft the capitale and go with Mustafa but it still an insult for me). But this show try to make Suleiman more "nice" by giving a lot of chance of Mahidevran, but like she make a lot bad decisions he throw her.... But I don't blame Hurrem on this both in the history and show. She had to do everything to allow her children to survive ( a lot of us would do the same if we were in her place). Her carreer remaing impressing.
But Suleiman in real life exciled Mahidevran becouse she beat Hurrem. The penalty for this deed was execution. To the rest of your comment - I agree. Like, even in comments people are calling Mahidevran "slave" As an insult, like it was her choice. They're just like Shah and Hatice in series, whom they despise. People, come on, you don't CHOOSE to be a slave. It is not a reason to insult.

I agree. It seemed as if Hurrem expected maybe Gulfem would be put in charge, and Gulfem would be a good choice. Hurrem was more focused on getting rid of Mah, since that meant any power Mah had would be gone.

Actually in real life, Hurrem did become Haseki and ruled the harem until her death in 1558
She reign as Haseki was very successful because she did keep order in the harem and made sure it was managed effectively.
Exactly, the same can be said for sending Fahriye to kill Hurrem. She becomes very loyal to Hurrem in the end.

One of the most legendary scenes in cinematic universe
If only Anne Boleyn was as smart & clever as Hurrem, she could've kept her head. Hurrem, slowly and methodically, plotted, became the Sultan's wife, destroyed her enemies & made herself a legend who's still being spoken about to this day. Well done👑👑♥️♥️

Hurrem was a Sultan thanks to Suleiman and also had the title of Haseki (only favorite or only wife of the Sultan) she was above anyone in the Harem and only had to bow to Suleiman historically. Even his sisters needed to bow to her, but the TV show changed this because the show was getting backlash in Turkey for they power Hurrem exerted in the series

I can't believe that Suleiman believed it.

Agreed..there are a lot of cards that could be played better by Hurrem...this is just a plot hole to poorly empower her character.

Fun facts:
Mustafa's name means "The chosen"
Mehmet's means "The praised"
Selim' means "The healthy"
It wasn't even intentional (nobody knew what would happen), but their names fit them so well. Mustafa was chosen by the people and tradition to rule. Mehmet was praised by his father and the golden prince . Selim was neither, but he stayed healthy and strong to the day of his father's death (minus the alcohol problem lol)

@M S What mean? O.o
@M S ah thx :)
I understand better who Ibrahim is holding ( yes I remember the lie he told to Hurrem when he said "I never kill an innocent men")
2) I love that the show justify abuse and insult make by Sultan to the concubine ( I will talk about it again when we will have the introduction of Turhan in Kosem).
@@nielubieinceli Hello Anna Robak. Yes I am agree with you of people using the insult of slave. But the historians don't know if Mahidevran really beat Hurrem even historian who support Hurrem like Leslie Pierce don't think that Mahidevran beat Hurrem. Plus, it make me impossible for me that Mahidevran can beat Hurrem because of the presence of eunuchs and kalfas in every corridor and that it seems she was a very clever women ( she had a lot of good spies without the love of the Sultan, she help to managed sucessfully a lot of provinces, she was very popular,etc...) to make a stupid move like this. I think that event is juste fictionnal like that the one who said that Cihangir love Mustafa( they were not close at all, and I don't think they meet each other).

08:39 Mahidevran advices are still good.
Mahidevran can't fight her own wars , always running to Valide , Ibrahim, etc for help
If your husband loves someother women, what would a poor lady do??!
@@MP_797 what husband? She was just a concubine.
@@JJ-bo6nc I see!! Concubines are not human?! Everyone has blood ,flesh and Emotions. Only People who need power doesn't care about other's emotion as like Hurrem.. Because of her understanding as Concubine she tolerates her son's death planned by Hurrem, Your so called (witch) queen!! Who changed the Fate of Mustafa who is the legal heir for throne?? If you have brain u wud have understand the cunning Hurrem
Even the fatima didn't bow to the hurrem and they all felt it was ok

@Alise Yucel Hello ! Its my mnew account I'm kidding, I have a syndrome . In facts I am a huge mehidevran ibrahim fan, and I cant live without watching them. She is the greatest, smartest Sultana, best mother and best wife. Solomon and mahi love so beautiful! I will always
So proud of her a true gemini girl❤❤❤❤❤
Queen Hurrem!!!
How could she blame hurrem for her own doings.. pity mahidevran
10:00 the necklace hatice sultan wore, wasn't it the necklace Suleiman gifted it on occassion of her marriage with Ibrahim? Sultan made it with his own hands
15:58 she bowed to him while being a sultana with no self respect.
Ibrahim bow hureem and mahi bow Ibrahim
I love magnificent century. Hurrem good actress 😍❤😘
The moment mihirmah realized she will be more powerful than her mother
Ibrahim has no say, I don't get why she runs behind him, Ibrahim can't involve in harem business
Because it's how she try's to fix all of her mistakes by running to either Vaild or Ibrahim. Vaild was finished with her before she died and now so is Ibrahim.
Hurrem personality is the best thing a true leader ❤❤❤❤
Hurrem did love Suleiman..the man..not the badshah/ King ..
29:22 When Mahidevran looked at Gullsah she was like "You traitor"
I've waited for this episode like foreverrrrr
Mahidevran's biggest mistake was to put her son at the forefront of the firing line to be the future Sultan. He had all the qualities and had he been taught to stand back - he would have ruled the world indeed.
I wonder....the poems...the lines and praises Suleiman recides for hurrem from his heart....each time he gets near her.
Yet never have i heard of such things for Mahidevran....wat a pain for her it must be.
She must attracted sultan with lovely fairy red hair. Natural red hair girls have radiant skin tone some also have ocean blue eyes. She must be truly beautiful.
