No i haven't done any bedding work on this i don't feel it needs it. i eventually put a triggertech in it but the original trigger is pretty good for being factory.
kind of interesting how much better the CX was at 100 than at 50. 100 is pretty impressive You had any chance to shoot more of it at 50? Still getting same results? Ever try the Eley Action? See almost nothing on it out there, but it was nice and cheap. Had to jump on the chance to grab 2krds of CX before I even tested it in my rifle, hope it likes it. Still havent found any SK rifle match for anything resembling a reasonable price, but did grab a brick of flatnose match to try out.
i have been shooting matches with sk rifle match its as good as this rifle is going to shoot. although its hard to find now and the places that have it in price gouge the fuck out of it. it use to be 65 before chynah flu now i've seen it upwards of 150 for a brick. sickening.
Sorry but I’m really late to this vid. Great test as usual. I’m about to buy a B14R and was just wondering after all this time which do you prefer, the steel or the carbon. Which one shoots better, and was there one that performed overall better than the other over time. Cheers Mate
the action out of the box was better on the carbon for whatever reason. if you're going to be lugging it around the woods i say go carbon. shooting prs go steel. the added weight helps. not much if any difference in performance.
Cory I think 🤔 it’s time we get a Voodoo 22. People are trying to compare Bergara b14r to a Voodoo. Voodoo is a custom rifle. B14r is a factory rifle. Have you Ck out element optics. If so you should. Quality optics stainless steel turrets. Are you in Ohio. They have that Lapua service center there. Trying to go in April. Thx for videos. 👍🏻
So since this video i've done several upgrades. i'm going to make a part 2 video probably this weekend if i get time. i have shot in several matches with a lot of folks who shoot vudoo and EVERY single one of them has had some sort of feeding issue. accuracy wise sure i bet the vudoo is a little better but its more than twice the cost. and when i say every one of them i mean every single one. Not sure if its attributed to the mag or what but that would be very frustrating to me. be on the lookout for a part 2 on this rifle i think you'll be surprised.
i have never held one so i cannot speak on it from personal experience but i have had a cz. the action is good but thats where it stopped for me anyway. but there is a TON of aftermarket for them now though. but the b14r is ready to rock out of the box. and the cz market will never be as good as the aftermarket for the bergara since its a rem 700 footprint.
no i don't clean the barrel between just shoot fowling rounds. Ive done it before and it doesn't seem to make any difference. 10-15 rounds will usually do it if the ammo type is somewhat similar. I have yet to feel a hot bolt action 22 barrel especially a carbon one so thats not a factor.
How does the T1X MTR, Ruger American Rimfire Target, & This rifle compare? Accurace finish and what you get for money (Before diminishing returns) - Lovely video as always
they all have their advantages and disadvantages. the t1x has a good trigger and a great action but the extraction system is poor quality and will wear out over time. the feel of the ruger is great and the action is nice and smooth but lacking accuracy. all in all for what you get in my personal opinion having owned a lot of 22s including a rimx, and currently a vudoo the bergara is the best *for the money.* mags are cheap unlike rimx or vudoo, 700 footprint so aftermarket is endless and they're readily available. the t1x you need to replace the stock and the ruger you'll need to replace the trigger. save yourself some hassle and go with a berg.
Wow. I have the same rifle and I get slightly better accuracy at 50 yards (SK standard+ and SK long range match) but my 100 yard groups don't come close.
Great video, I recently found Ballistic X. Its an app for measuring groups, it takes a little of playing with it but its great. Once you learn how it works its a time saver. 👍
depends on what you want to do really. if you're in to shooting some type of NRL with obstacles i say go with the steel the added weight will help you stay a little bit more planted in the obstacles. if you're hucking it around the woods hunting i say go with the carbon version, its significantly lighter. BUT both shoot equally well.
Hi, again, Corey!.... well, I have decided to buy the carbon fiber barrel version! Now I need your suggestions... how can I mount an Area 419 Arca swiss rail under this rifle's forearm? Area 419 says mount their universal 12" rail with m-loks nuts (if m-lok slots are available)... or they recommend you drill the forearm underbelly and install using their t-nuts... which is a bit scary... not crazy about drilling my stock's fiberglass resin. Have you mounted an Arca-swiss rail to the B-14r, or do you know anyone who has done so?
i have and the holes in the original stock you can use. the action screw that comes with the kit will need to be trimmed a little bit because its too long but the holes in the fore end align with the rail so no drilling is required. thankfully because i was in the same boat as you i didn't want to drill in to the stock.
Sorry such a late comment but just been researching Bergara B14r. Really like your reviews. Question for you. Is the carbon B14r as nose heavy as the steel B14r? Thanks

I don’t care what brand I rock, as long as it’s accurate, and doesn’t hurt my wallet too bad, that’s a win win in my books.
@@tjordan4436 totally agree. this rifle for me anyway has been 100% spot on. its rare i get a flyer and after about 4-5 thousand rounds i have still have to have a failure to eject or any malfunctions at all. and its only "only" 1100.

Which is more accurate between the carbon and the steel barreled ? 🤔
its really a toss up. depending how you want to use it if you're gonna shoot NRL type matches go with the steel since its heavier and will help on obstacles, if you're gonna be hucking it around the woods go with the carbon version since its lighter. both shoot extremely well
Great video
Would the steel barrel shoot tighter groups
Than the carbon barrel?
I’m not shooting NRL matches just long range 50 to 300 at the range
no they were pretty similar for me. if you plan on huckin it around the woods get the carbon. if not get the steel, save a little money. same performance.
That rifle performs better at 100 than 50. My CZ 452 American consistently shoots low to mid .3’s @ 50 with most lots of Center X, but it shoots the same Ammo right at an inch @100.
yea it shoots well. i've had it out with center x a few times after this and it seemed to shoot it really well also.
Going to buy one of these this weekend. Did you have to glass any part if your chassis? We put a Trigger Tech Diamond trigger in my brothers steel barrel version and it’s amazing! Thanks for a great detailed review!
No i haven't done any bedding work on this i don't feel it needs it. i eventually put a triggertech in it but the original trigger is pretty good for being factory.
kind of interesting how much better the CX was at 100 than at 50. 100 is pretty impressive
You had any chance to shoot more of it at 50?
Nice job, so if you had to choose between steel barrel or carbon which is it. Say they both had same action and trigger.
with doing all the prs and nrl stuff i would go with the steel for the little extra weight. carbon just looks cooler lol
Where did you buy the bipod rail the screw holes line up with the the Bergara sling stud screws
its made by area 419 its called improved rail section or something. the factory holes line up and it has a place for a qd sling attachment
Also do you prefer the CZ MTR over the Bergara B 14 R
Or are they about the same in accuracy
i have never held one so i cannot speak on it from personal experience but i have had a cz. the action is good but thats where it stopped for me anyway. but there is a TON of aftermarket for them now though. but the b14r is ready to rock out of the box. and the cz market will never be as good as the aftermarket for the bergara since its a rem 700 footprint.
The gun shoots, bergara's are very accurate rifles. Hard to beat, cz's Tika's Anne's, rem x Cooper, kimber, Winchester, remminton, Walter's, etc.
best gun for the money not even close
Do you clean the barrel between ammo selection? And/or how many shots of next selection before it dials in? Do you let the barrel cool between?
no i don't clean the barrel between just shoot fowling rounds.
@@coreyd1474 Thanks for your quick reply and your help :)
@@GARR0N any time! good luck.
Wow. I have the same rifle and I get slightly better accuracy at 50 yards (SK standard+ and SK long range match) but my 100 yard groups don't come close.
out of my last 3-4 22's i have not had any luck at all with sk long range at 50. i can never seem to find a good day to test it at 100 yards +
Great video, I recently found Ballistic X. Its an app for measuring groups, it takes a little of playing with it but its great. Once you learn how it works its a time saver. 👍
i use to use it but it takes way too long to do this many groups. way faster to just measure them.
Any advantage with the steel barrel compared to the carbon ? I shoot lefty also. any advice would be appreciated
depends on what you want to do really. if you're in to shooting some type of NRL with obstacles i say go with the steel the added weight will help you stay a little bit more planted in the obstacles. if you're hucking it around the woods hunting i say go with the carbon version, its significantly lighter. BUT both shoot equally well.
Where do you order that fancy ammo at? I can’t find it anywhere.
Awesome video! Thank you soo much for sharing content!
i could give you a list of about 20 sites but doesn't matter its not in stock ANY where, at all.
Outstanding.
thanks for watching.
Is there a Runner that can safely be attached to this carbon fiber barrel ?
what do you mean by runner.
@@coreyd1474 My eyes are bad - I meant Tuner - lol
@@kevinschallau1997 on the carbon barrel it would be iffy IMO. i have never seen anyone using a tuner on the carbon version.
My pump .22 with Remington golden bullets shoots that good…haha good video
i''d take that bet all day every day :)
Thanks
no i think it comes about to about a pound lighter than the steel version.
mine likes SK stndard +, CCI SV, Lapua Cx
I still need to try sk standard
Is the bolt knob threaded? So you can pick which one, you would like to use? Thanks and Great video.
thanks for watching. no it is not threaded. in my opinion its a good size. not oversize but you won't miss it when you go to cycle the bolt.
I have 4 lots of sk rifle match, have yet do come to a conclusion though.
Its good stuff.
I'm new to this so maybe someone could help answer this, but why does it seem like the fouling groups are tighter than the right side groups? Wouldn't you think the groups get tighter the more you shoot? Thanks for the great videos and help!! Keep up the great work!
in some cases you're definitely right. i think the barrel is fairly fouled at around 15 rounds. just the nature of 22 i guess
@@coreyd1474 thanks for the info!! I'm really digging your channel/videos. I'm just getting started in the precision 22 game and it sure is a blast. I just purchased the B14R carbon and can't wait to get out and shoot it, just not in -15.
@@Matt-zn4zp hopefully it doesn't disappoint because this one sure didn't. zero issues what so ever. i'm in ohio and the last few matches we've had have been in the single digits lol makes it hard to go out and practice.
@@coreyd1474 another quick question, sorry...do you clean your barrel between different brands of ammo? Or just shoot a few groups to "season" the barrel to that particular ammo? Thanks again!!!
@@Matt-zn4zp no, just give it about 15-20 rounds or so to foul

it does not unfortunately.

Yes sir I do. This is my comp gun. I've since added a trigger and an arca rail and a gen 2 razor

Was there a accuracy difference in you’re carbon or steel
i recommend steel. not much accuracy difference and you save some money. carbon looks better tho IMO
Ended up getting the carbon
@@juanrojos78 they definitely look better IMO
What adaptor did you use from a swivel to a mount for your atlas bipod. Trying to set mine up with an atlas bipod. Just bought this exact rifle and need some input.
its not a stud adapter its an american defense qd piccy mount
50 yards - OK, 100 yards - impressive!
its pretty impressive all around IMO
Thank you
thank you.
Compared to the steel B14 which one is more accurate?
pretty much about the same. carbon looks cooler tho lol
What ADM model is that? I just ordered one one and I'm concerned it will be too high on a CZ 457 application
all my adm mounts are SL-RECON i think its the lowest they offer

yea to be honest before i started being around people with vudoo i had one in my cart ready to order. again don't get me wrong they are a little more accurate and quality rifles i just wouldn't be able to deal with having all those feeding issues for the money. I get ammo from there whenever they have what i'm looking for in stock.

Ok lot of money for Nexus it’s made in Japan Side by shooters. I’m done with Vortex never again. These all scopes have Stainless steel turrets even in their Helix. The Nexus side by side next to a Nightforce blew it away. There made in same factory. The Bergara b14r gets better as I shoot it very happy with both. Please Ck out Element Optics you will thank me. yea these are great rifles for sure! i put a gen 2 razor on this one so i'm all set on optics but those do look good the one you have!
Eley Target is subsonic.
you're right although i get some that crack from time to time.
SK Rifle Match rarely disappointing.
do you ever weigh your rounds and group them together? thinking about giving that a try to see if it ups the performance any.
@@coreyd1474 I did that on some CCI SV because the good shooters at my matches do it. Personally I didn't see much better groups from the CCI that I separated into tighter weight groups. Give it a shot. I'd like to see what you come up with.

Ok boomer...look at what all the prs/nrl pros are using! Pretty high rings are normal nowdays...low height over bore only helps if not using math, and dialing elevation...higher height over bore actually had MANY advantages, for example you have a better line of sight for the path of the bullet...maybe do some research before telling another good shooter they are wrong!!!
