the fact that richard just surfs all the rograkh discords in his spare time is just hilarious to me

I love Phil sometimes.
“I hate this card and the design but it’s really good here.”
He doesn’t like being the bad guy but really enjoys doing the bad guy play lol
"Won't play ugin" makes everything ok 🤣.
He's great because he keeps things at a casual level even if he throws in a few of the spikier cards, unlike some others who make full spike decks to pubstomp
@@adamfiliatreault3393 yea my buddy running Tef pro, armageddon, expropriate, ect is exactly like that...
You better smash that like botton or I'll steal your commander and/or other permanents!
Then play Empress Galina instead of Jin as your commander. Copy her activated ability with things like, Rings of Brightheart, lithoform Engine, and Illusionist's Bracers. You know you'll love it ;)
Jokes on you. I'm playing Dralnu, Lich Lord.
@@yorickkuiper2999 jokes on you. I’m playing Keiga clones
@@ayllipkhieu8659 how is that joke on me? I mean just take keiga, murder it and take something else you got.
If you meant it as another option for a steal commander, then I guess I still rather play Galina since she doesn't need anything else but herself to go off multiple times (each round 1 permanent) if none answers her. Plus Galina can steal any legendary permanent.
Galina even drops the joke on you by stealing Keiga when you try to copy it, so it won't die. And if it does I'll take the copy keiga with the original.
@@yorickkuiper2999 why’re you so pressed? I said everything in jest. Just followed the same format as the comment above mine
Having Seth not get a single shrine trigger was pretty sad.
Tell me about it.
After 2 full hours to rotfl
Put some line breaks so people that will watch the video don't get an spoiler like that
Dunno who put Doggo as creature type on Yoshimaru in the deck screen presention, you are a treasure and we don't deserve you.
I think Richard was forgetting that protection from all creatures = unblockable. Could have put that on several times while he was fussing over being blocked.
People casting into Jin is one of life's great pleasures. Especially online when they just stop playing for a bit and read the card.
Ever since playing against ixilans binding prison decks in standard has taught me to always read my opponents cards even if they don't make sense to me for a few weeks.
Cage of Hands is such a flavor win to paralyze the good boy with tummy rubs.
"I want it to be an hour long game, I'm an aggro deck"
_checks timestamp_
Oh No
So the complaints about og duals is weird to me. It's so easy to replace them in a decklist with a budget dual. Serra's Sanctum on the other hand, is unique and would weaken the deck significantly. So from a budget perspective I'd rather see the lists I could recreate on a budget. So plateau is fine, but Sanctum is a bit too much
I think the complaints are mostly to meme on Tomer.
The budget should be in tickets and not in dollars anyway, since they're playing on MTGO. Dual land prices are reasonable in tickets!
just play both :^)
Include Duals, they are cheap online, just do it. $1000 = $1500. Also agree 5 color needs it the most use them Seth.
It slays me that Richard could have played the 2 mana flash aura, grabbed flickerform, and then saved his doomstack.
It was the biggest punt of the whole match, and he would have had enough mana afterward to exile his lightpaws again. It was very painful to watch, but it's part of the issue that comes with building and playing a new deck each time. You fail to gain any mastery over any one kind of commander that would give you the knowledge required over many games to pilot our deck effectivly.
It kills _me_ how many times he hovered right over Ethereal Armor and All That Glitters while trying to figure out how to kill people. Aaaa I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to yell at my screen this much.
He straight up said “I’m out of enchantments” when those were still in there! AAAAAAAA
Haha such a great Edit changing the Doggo's creature type during the Deck Breakdowns
Tomer's right imo, the abu duals are fine in this pod.
Richard, still good at magic.
Duals don't effect the board or gameplay the same way something like jeweled lotus. There's plenty of ways to substitute a dual with next to no drawback and has even less effect on the gameplay of the pod unlike fast mana like jeweled lotus or other zero mana artifacts!
Phil, really bad at magic..
@@johnvoorhees3441 chill bruh
On this week of "Punt or Bluff?" the crew is back with their neon graffiti. Will Tomer's goodest boy win the day or will Phil just steal the goodest boy to win the day? Tune in to find out!
Hey man, just want to say I appreciate the dedication in writing these promos!
Tomer - ,,No big highmakers, just aggro''
Me - frantically looking for Kaldra in the deck
Kaldra is aggro ;)
I saw it in the deck intro, sneaky Tomer...
Congratz on the 50k, crew!
Phil looks like the main character in a Wes Anderson film
😆
There is 8 swords made so far. The two left are a green/red and a black/blue sword to be made. The gruul one better remove an enchantment and let you impulse draw or else it won't be as good as what I suggested
The small touch of editing Yoshimaru's creature type was great :)
"1 hour game baby!" Checks the video time. Yeah Tomer. One hour. 🤣
Just like the old 30 minute Top Ten Cards From [set] for Commander
Love the intro, really I do not know if you have done it earlier already but wow. Love it, that smash editing
I started watching this entirely cause I wanted to see the shrine deck and then he didn't get his land drops and got knocked out first
Thanks for letting me know. Back to the search bar 😒
This is the 2nd WUBRG shrine deck ive seen miss all their land drops and just ultra brick. Is this just bad deckbuilding or the shrine curse..?
@@spideysquestionablyusedcha5069 I have a shrine deck that I haven't been able to play with my friends yet but in test hands it doesn't seem to have any issues
- After Tomer experiences 1 bad wipe from Richard -
Tomer for the rest of the game: Let them fight
I dunno, but it does seem like Tomer is the most sore-loser type out of the bunch. others are fun but Tomer seems to get pretty negative
I don't see anything wrong with playing original duals in decks like this, because if someone wants to build the deck they can substitute many cheaper options without changing the deck significantly or preventing it from working.
It's different if the super-expensive card is a build-around. A deck that depends on something unique like Tabernacle, Bazaar, etc is a fun idea, but it's a feels-bad when someone looks into building it themselves and finds out that it really doesn't work without the key expensive piece, and there's nothing that effectively replaces that.
just proxy it?
4:12 17* shrine, 5 in the original cycle, 6 in the M21 cycle, 5 in the neon dynasty cycle, and 1 in the neon dynasty set booster
I love how Richard keeps getting away with it. This episode perfectly encapsulates the monowhite spirit of the 'little guy' coming back from behind against all odds.
I would love to see another kamigawa episode, I’m in love with this set and your videos!! 😁
Well, I've got some good news for you 😄
Tomer's deck couldve also ran the Enduring Renewal combo since 2 of the pieces are commanders. Just a mention for those looking for another combo piece.
What a relief
Thanks for the good episode. Have a nice day.
OG duals do nothing significant compared to shocklands. Fetch lands are what warps manabases, and so long as there are typed untapped duals, OG duals will be a minor difference.
I just built a paper shrine deck. Nice to see one on the show.
I think Seth's argument for why you shouldn't run duals is kinda exactly why they should be allowed; they aren't that much better than the next best thing. They just make it so you lose a lil less life on average and power up your knight of the white orchids and skyshroud claims. as opposed to things like crypt that will completely warp a game because of the fast starts it allows.
also imo anything above 500, unless its cEDH is practically the same.
We do need duals (yes *all* of them) reprinted in paper so multicolor decks don’t have such a high cost compared to mono.
Tomer I hate to tell you there is a difference between a $1000 deck and a $1500
Mathematically it’s roughly $499.99 difference give or take $0.01
Phil is the new crim. I love it.
I'm in love as whale.
The main difference being that Phil apologizes while Crim revels in evil.
what a relief 😌
PLANT GIVEAWAY!!!
They're trying to go back on their campaign promise. We need to hold them accountable. WE DEMAND A PLANT!
I was *stressing* watching Richard hold up that Nykthos for so long. I was rooting for him to win as a Light Paws fan, and loved that stack during the last few plays. Gg
Yoshimaru is sweet, but I'm a bigger fan of playing him with Sakashima of a Thousand faces and other clones to make an army of doggos.
i do wanna see shrines back!
What program/website do you guys use? I've never seen that before.
Aminatou’s augury is severely underrated! It isn’t a staple but it’s a really fun 8-drop that can hit or miss and boy oh boy, what a great hit in this game! 😍
Phil is slowly turning into Crim
Clash on! :)
1:05:15 Phil:
me: checks decklist
me: realizes Flickering Ward is almost as expensive as Scroll Rack
me:
Like how you did with the 4 innistraf angel sisters, it'd be neat to do smth like that with the vehicle commanders, there is boros, przov and azorius now, maybe use the second azorius vehicle commander, or find a selesnia option?
Tomer's beaver shirt is great, I want one
What website do you guys play on
I like Kediss, Emberclaw familiar as Yoshimaru’s partner myself, that way you can group slug the table while commander damaging out one player. Downside is you become the whole table’s enemy on turn two or three, every game 😅
unrelated to the episode but what do you think of doing a week where you play idk 5-10 cards you ranked good or bad in tier lists to see how they hold up?
Holding on to ottawara and not make your land drop seems really bad.
What program is this? thanks
1:19:45 you could've cast Sublime Epiphany to counter the ability of the Flicker, Phil!
Phil role-playing mono blue this week.
Spectra Ward doesn't remove auras. Light paws attaches them without targeting, getting around the problem of it having pro-white.
Nice one Phil gottem
Theres a lot of valid criticisms of Jeweled Lotus, but "it helps the person who cast it a lot and doesn't do anything for anybody else" is so silly. That's true for basically every card? If you think that's what Commander cards should do why does everybody poopoo Secret Rendezvous?
Its annoying for being yet another "whoops I'm scariest at the table" 1-of in the format where Sol Ring and Mana Crypt are both also legal imo
So j lotus is plus 3 mana, sol ring while plus 1 reqs 1 mana to play
@@Someone-lg6di Jeweled Lotus provides 3 mana on the turn you play it, but Sol Ring gets you +1 mana the turn you play it and +2 mana each turn after. It takes 1 turn of Sol Ring being out to make it "as good" as Lotus and is strictly better if it sticks longer
And sol ring costs about $2, to jeweled lotus’ what is it now?
@@Lucat27 Jewled Lotus sits at around $80 - $90. Mana Crypt sits between $120 - $180 and is the stronger card. Price and rarity certainly is a totally understandable criticism to level at Jeweled Lotus. No piece of cardboard can justify costing that much.
But in terms of gameplay, it's objectively less powerful than Sol Ring and Mana Crypt in most cases. Not saying it isn't powerful, but they're *more* powerful
Tomer: "...the bad lands. I mean, some people like them, so that's cool."
Good looking out for the views/viewers ;) lmao
22:05 - I know I'm late, but I don't think the Gold token difference is relevant for Improvise. The way improvise works is that it's an alternate payment method for generic mana costs. However, when casting a spell you get one chance to activate any mana abilities (only if the cost to pay includes mana), and then you have to pay the costs using whatever mana you have in the mana pool at that moment and/or any alternate payment options available (e.g. tapping things for Improvise or Convoke, or paying life). Both Gold and Treasure would be sacrificed at that point, preventing either from being used for Improvise.
Huh, that's true.
601.2g. If the total cost includes a mana payment, the player then has a chance to activate mana abilities (see rule 605, "Mana Abilities"). Mana abilities must be activated before costs are paid.
However, you could still tap a Gold for Improvise and sac it for mana to do something later in the turn, which you can't with a Treasure.
We all agree that Phil is an evil player, but he's a lovable dude, so it makes it ok. Krim is just evil.
On the topic of duals. Play what makes you all happy and keeps the games flowing I say.
I play fade away, gets em every time
Could we get deck lists for all these? I really wanna try out The Good BOY and Shrines
The decklists are available in the article linked in the description.
My current Shrines deck is actually a Sisay deck (the 5-color Commander). I'm actually really happy about getting another 6 Shrines and being able to make Shrine enchantment creature tokens.
That'll fit right in with using Maskwood Nexus to turn the tokens into every creature type, and then using the land to tutor out Gods.
In the meantime, I'm getting mana, drawing cards, and draining life from everybody else. Plus, if I've got out at least 5 enchantments, paying WUBRG for Serra's Sanctum breaks even.
PS: The black shrine doesn't kill creatures. It drains each opponent, and then you gain life for however much life was drained out of 1 player (i.e., I have 3 shrines. I drain each opponent for 3, and gain 3 life. It's not life gain equal to the total life lost.)
By the way, Mirri's Guile would be good for the 5-Color Shrines, since it allows you to look at the top three cards of the library and put them back in any order.
Remember turn 1? ... I was full of hope 🤣
If you helm of the host gin, would the copy trigger at the same time or could each counter one thing each turn? Pretty much being able to counter 2 per turn?
Theyd trigger both at once and double counter the one spell.
Were can I find Phil’s decklist with extra turns? Can someone help?
I don't have an edh decklist with Jin and extra turns, but I've made a gameplay video about it:
ruclips.net/video/Jln6XprD3qw/видео.html
Norin the wary for tomer’s deck or too slow?
Awesome
Do we get the plant now?
This episode looks like a hot mess I'm very excited : D
I've heard Light-Paws is very strong but kind of boring and "same-y"
Generallt speaking tutor decks, can be samey.
Lol, the deck I came to watch went out first lol. Love the table talk, good game guys. Wierd game, but interesting.
A like for the editor
Bigger difference in 500 to 1000 than 1000 to 1500
I see that Legendary Creature - Doggo
Ginger Taxes is great.
I really want to make a light paws edh deck cause I pulled a foil alt art one from my bundle
You guys got to talking about budgets near the start. Have you ever considered having each person build their deck with only the 64 free cards and free bot credit cardhoarder gives you for a new account? Could be a fun "Free Deck" week.
I agree with Tomer, but also that I'd rather there be a price cap in what's played. I'll never purchase a mana crypt nor a platue
"One hour game! Calling it now!"
2:11:52 later...
I am making the Gin Deck. Its just so awesome
1:20:00 wasnt there a sublime epiphany in the pile to stifle the flicker form?
or even better, stifle the return of the lightpaw pile
@@moersertrupp now *that* is some real nice spice
The only way is to give it flying! *hovers over protection from creatures for like a minute*
Hold on, a commander clash that isn't 3 hrs long?
Phil has SSSS-Tier on theme outfits
i love that tomer is not taking shit this season...got bullied way to hard...
Gruul and Dimir swords are left, guess the only hope for enchanment removal on a sword is Gruul.
Honestly you should just use the dual lands. on MTGO they are really cheap compared to their real life counterparts, and power levelwise it's not that crazy as they are pretty much shock lands and the battlebond lands in most decks in paper is an alternative.
I think basically all Boros / Mono White decks should be running Homeward path. It's such a useful utility land
So Tomer. Yes, Serra's Sanctum is pricier than Plateau. 5$ pricier.
Phil played Fade Away after trashing it on the podcast 😂
You guys are playing Commander on MTGO - use the cards you have available - don't worry about paper deck costs unless everyone is playing with a budget as a theme any one week.
original duals are fine!
i don't really understand why seth was so frightened by tomer's aggro strat since he had honden of cleansing fire in his hand since turn 0. i think seth may have heavily undervalued the honden of cleansing fire seeing as he never cast it the whole game. I think the value from that shrine is super underrated since once you get 2 or 3 other shrines you're gaining upwards of 8-10+ life each turn. after yoshimaru got dealt with I don't see why he didn't just flop it down and start pillowforting.
Too bad Richard didn't have Flickerform on Light-Paws when he attacked Phil around 1:13:00
Tomer with ice in his veins on the punt or bluff
Phil the turn you last played gin gitaxias if you played memnarch instead you would have stolen the spirit dancer and Richard would probably not have been able to stop you anymore
Was Phil Crim all along or was Crim Phil all along? I can't tell anymore
Frantically buys all the Aminatou's Augury from Card Kingdom
Mneumonic deluge you mean
As someone who plays like, max 50$ budgets, 1000 and 1500 are both wild to me
