I wish there was a LOVE button, this is great. Cameron, you have revolutionised what I am going to cook in my van. The pasta and rice are going to get the shove!!!
I love the Ridge Monkey pans! I ordered 3 and even with the import charges to the USA, they were fairly affordable. I’m going to order more of them for friends and family. I keep my camp stove and my Ridge Monkey pan in the trunk of my car and when I’m traveling I will often stop at a roadside park and pull something from my cooler and make a quick meal. I haven’t thought about baking a pie, though! That’s an awesome idea! Thanks for sharing! I’m thinking a nice single serving apple pie in my smallest Ridge Monkey pan would be a really lovely dessert when I am traveling this autumn.
Nice one Cameron. Never thought of doing that in the Ridgemonkey. Working through your campervan videos now we have one. Cheers, Ross (Northumbria Backpackers of old)
An interesting comparison and I liked the idea of using a hot cross bun. I have a Diablo and the secret in using it is to cut one small corner off the square slice of bread that then points towards the hinge of the Diablo. You also need to build your sandwich in the Diablo, pushing the first slice down into it to make a pocket for the filling, rather than make a sandwich which you then try to fit inside. That will always make a mess. The overhang is important because the Diablo cuts and seals the edges when you close it. This keeps the contents sealed inside so you can use quite runny food to make you pie like, toasted sandwich. You do get some waste from the crusts but it has to do that to seal the food in. You can also use pastry instead of bread to make proper pies. Both these toasters are very good, but they are intended to do different jobs. Ps, I use the left over crusts to feed the birds!
Loved the video Cameron, thanks for sharing ! psi`m off to the Lake District tomorrow on my Motorbike camping for a few days and fully intend to use my Ridgemonkey most days !! I might just make a pie 😄😄
Hi Cameron , I think GORDON, JAMIE AND JAMES MARTIN are all inspirational and safe in there jobs ,but you too are inspirational in what you do , next time you have your RIDGEMONKEY on the go try cutting a pizza in half fold it over and do the same way ,great toasted sandwich and you can add what you like......yum yum .
What a wonderful recipe and discussion - the only thing I would like to add is gravy. Either in the pie, or over the pie - but one way or the other Cameron I would add some gravy.
Thanks for your video Cameron, it's given me inspiration to be more ambitious with our two Ridgemonkey's which don't see the light of day often enough. 👍
Loved the pie idea, also like the plates they look the perfect shape for tipping the pie or any thing ridge monkey shaped out on, lovely to see you using the headrests makes me smile 😊
We've only ever made toasties or fry ups with ours but this sir is genius! Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking chicken curry pie with Idahoan cheesy instant mash! Thanks for sharing. All the best Daz 😁👍🏼🏕
Schaut sehr lecker aus, werde ich mal ausprobieren in unserem Ridge Monkey. Ihr habt so schöne Geschirrtücher, wo kann man die kaufen? Vielen Dank für den tollen Tipp😂👍😉👏😋
Hi just got one from Amazon . Bi must have ordered the wrong one . It’s very Small . Can you please tell me . Witch one you are using please . It’s bigger. Thank w
Is this what one refers to when they say, "A pie in the Skye?" There's no beating the versatility of the Ridge monkey. Actually, when all your ingredients are cooked, all that needs to be done is the pastry which normally takes about 10 mins and because it has two sides, double the cooking time. Now tell me, why should you have to explain your intentions or motives. Oh, boy, what sort of a world are we moving into thanks to the woke, global totalitarian, irrational solutions to a plandemic . Where's that wine......Cheers.
Nope, just get the other RidgeMonkey...I'm sure I could make some soup in that... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0823TLCFJ/?coliid=I2H2WIXQN7QFEL&colid=19HJCQT88F33E&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
3 years ago this , and yes what is the rule on the drinking while parked up keys not in ignition and no intention of driving, i would like people to update if possible as being in a layby example 303 near stone henge and staying the night , keys are in the cupboard and had 4 cans of Stella im over the limit am i to be arrested?🤔
Could you taste the bit of melted wrapper?
oooh oooh oooh - A nan bread dough, with a lovely portion of leftover Indian curry dish - Now that would be great in the Ridgemonkey!
Oh Cameron I was shouting at the screen that there was some of the plastic wrapper under the pastry. This has inspired me to have a go.
Me too!
Me too 😂

Delicious looking. Another great tip. Cheers
Looked scrummy 😋. What a useful item!
love the wine description "Vino Collapso" my old boss used that description over 40 years ago, made me chuckle
Aha, the Plonka Rouge...
Dinner looks really good!!
Loved the pie idea, also like the plates they look the perfect shape for tipping the pie or any thing ridge monkey shaped out on, lovely to see you using the headrests makes me smile 😊
The headrests are brilliant. Been gtelling everyone about them.
@@CameronMcNeishOutdoors glad you like them I like things that work 😊
I bought a Ridgemonkey and am going to make this pie‼️ Xx
We've only ever made toasties or fry ups with ours but this sir is genius! Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking chicken curry pie with Idahoan cheesy instant mash! Thanks for sharing. All the best Daz 😁👍🏼🏕
Sounds wonderful!
Looked sooooooo delicious 😘👌
Guess what I Will be cooking on our next van camp. Great Vlog
Loved the demonstration, can you do canned biscuits in the Ridge Monkey? Or cinnamon rolls. Seems it would be less heat
Than the oven!
Have a wee visit to kyleachin when you go over the bridge Cameron, beautiful wee place 😉🏴
Brilliant video! Thanks Man!
Holy crap dude,I'm buying ridgemonkey today, you should ask ridgemonkey for a commission ,lol
Absolute Quality, one question Cameron - Do you deliver? I thoroughly recommend the Skye Brewery in Uig when you go to Skye! 👍😜🏴
Looks great
Looks good, I’m off to buy a Ridge Monkey
I suppose you could put the peas in the pie?
Why do I watch outdoor cookery videos just before lunchtime?
Well done Cameron, that looked delish 😋
Now the question is, who eat the piece of plastic wrapper? 😊
soooooo hungry noo Cameron , must give it a try. Thanks
Schaut sehr lecker aus, werde ich mal ausprobieren in unserem Ridge Monkey. Ihr habt so schöne Geschirrtücher, wo kann man die kaufen? Vielen Dank für den tollen Tipp😂👍😉👏😋
Yes and even better the next day when set ,!
Good tip is to heat your pan of peas on top of the ridgemonkey for the last few minutes, then they're ready at the same time.
Hi just got one from Amazon . Bi must have ordered the wrong one . It’s very Small . Can you please tell me . Witch one you are using please . It’s bigger. Thank w
Hi Stuart, The one I use is 200m wide. I suspect you may have bought the small one which is 150m wide. I'm sure they will exchange it.
@@CameronMcNeishOutdoors Thank you 🙏
A macaroni pie is only weird if you aren't from Scotland :)
Or Malta 😉
😎👍
Were the ingredients pre-cooked?
Yes they were.
I want a ridge monkey...but im in florida USA. Shipping is horrible. I bought a pan like a R.M. not as big. Have not tried to use it yet.
Did the plastic taste good lol
Delish!
gordon ramsey will be getting some tips from you here
Impressed with that! A proper hearty pie 👍 Much better than avocado toast in yer bikini 🤣👍
Cameron I'll bet you drank that bottle of red on your own
😮😋
Never thought that's edible plastic?🤔😱
Slt, la poêle est cool, mais, je ne viendrais pas manger chez toi, le gratin de plastique me fait tourner le ventre, si non bon appétit
