Those are rather impressive machines to me. I do like the cut sense feature and especially impressive is that they made it an option of use. Price is competitive for sure, especially with the features added to the units. I am not a cabinet maker my self even though I have made a couple, but you use a saw to cut wood to a size. The main difference in my opinion from cabinet makers to what most people do, is the size of the table for cutting support. Good review all in all. THANKS !!
Thanks Gary! That's a good point about cabinet makers. They would definitely need a larger table. FLEX just keep raising the bar and forcing other companies to do the same.
Skilsaw has had a 10” worm drive contractor saw that I’ve had for three years. It doesn’t have the battery option however it comes with a foldable stand and plenty of power. Plus even a cheap saw will cut wood with the right blade so testing it with a couple of cuts is a poor long term comparison. After three years of use mine will still cut consistently…I do however take great care of my blades and replace them when needed. This is a cool option for a on sight contractor. Howes the battery capacity?
The battery life is hard to test seeing as there are so many variables. What size boards, thickness, type of wood, batter AH, etc. With our 6AH battery we made all these cuts plus several more on different woods and it still had 4 bars, so I'd say for general purpose it's probably pretty good.
Been waiting for this saw some, 5 plus yrs ago .. didn’t know who would come out with it first lol flex in its short existence 🤝🏽.. the splitting 4x4 in one pass is what I been waiting for 😎 gonna really help my customized work
Nice job and thanks for the information on the flex saw looks great. I did by there router still waiting for it to be delivered. Hey Merry Christmas later Andrew
There's so many different variables. The size of board, the size of battery you're using, type of wood, etc. But we did probably 20-25 cuts on a 5AH battery and it was still full.
I know many will disagree...but I see that saw sense features as a negative. If it wasn't for that I would have no issue picking it up. But I see that feature as a frustration waiting to happen. Props for trying something different though.
FLEX IS the only company that I know of that came out with a full entourage of batteries including a 12 amp hour battery and Stack Lithium ion batteries, that means they had a serious game plan of attack and they meant business. Barnaby and Mike the plumber wasn't playing around they didn't give a damn how the fan clubs took it.
I’m a carpenter with like 100 guys. 1 guy got the flex cordless screw gun and it did not last compared to the Dewalt guns. I’m not hating on flex but realistically flex is just another big box store mid product. FYI I consider Dewalt, Milwaukee, Bosch mid as well
@@chuca0702 So let me fully understand, one guy out of 100 guys with one FLEX tool had an issue and the entire platform is worth nothing is that what you saying dude? That is a silly and stupid premise. Please think before you talk. So Festool Kapex had a batch of bad motors so according to your premise Festool produces only inferior tools. Dude that argument doesn't hold water period.
@@chuca0702Festool Kapex had a motor problem, Milwaukee first gen nailers was awfully bad, DeWalt guns had trigger and chuck issues. As of this writing DeWalt has issues with their cordless Miter Saw and your one guy broke his only FLEX tool a gun. According to your statistics every manufacturer is just terrible. So what one guy with one gun, broke. Here is a better statistic one carpenter, me, with 88 pieces of FLEX. I broke my gun because it wasn't tied off and had a battery issue. They Warranty tool one within 5 day. No better warranty except Hilti.
Howdy Mr. Eric and Mr. Ryan.... I LOVE watching your videos....about carving. But.... Being a Woodworker for 40 years....I've got "thumbs down" those tablesaws. (Thumbs up your, video though). I cannot possibly see these saws being a big seller for "Flex". Dewalt has them beat in both quality, performance AND price. As a woodworker, I'm not going to pay MORE for less quality and performance. For a machine such as this, making it a "Battery" powered tool is just plain jane ridiculous. I understand it has an "AC" adapter and for all tense and purposes, they should have sent that to you as well. My take on the "Why" they didn't is a straight forward "Sales" gimmick. They WANT you to use "THEIR" batteries and they know full well, your gonna need at LEAST 2. I'm fairly confident that the AC adapter will be a separate purchase. Again...Sales gimmick. The purchase of this tablesaw should include the AC adapter and they should flip flop the Advertisements saying "Hey, this can be operated with a battery as an option". High amperage tools such as chop saws, tablesaws etc can NOT sustain FULL power 100% of the time. Each time you use it, that battery gets drained. That light beam in the fence is also a gimmick. As soon as you're cutting something, such as a 4x4....That light becomes a moot point. Light being broadcasted from the side of what you're cutting produces a shadow on its opposite side. That is a BAD thing. Light should come from directly above what you are cutting, not from the side. The auto cut off....though it has a switch to negate its use....It is as well just a gimmick. Here's the fault in that....As I'm cutting a board of which towards the end of the cut, I NEED my push stick....If that saw cuts off cause I simply paused for a moment....Ummm. NO!!! What am I supposed to do, hold my push stick in my hand at all times so as NOT to pause when I need to use it? That's absurd!!! The action of the blade stopping while in a cut will FREAK you out and it's at THAT time that you're going to get a kickback. And then you have to resume the start up of the blade while in mid cut??? That's completely dumb!!! I could go into the physics of this with 4 decades of experience to back me up....But, in a nutshell....That's just Moronic that they would design this feature. Flex Tools are relatively a new Brand and they are trying to make their mark/niche. They aren't going to achieve that goal by charging MORE than an already WELL established Brand, Dewalt. I cannot agree with the recommendation of this tool to other woodworkers. IMO...And to reiterate, I've got 40 years experience with tools....This tool is BIG NOPE!!! Buy the Dewalt...Be Happy. Buy this tool....Expect Problems.
@oldave100 I'd say, in a pinch, this saw has its purpose. As an actual "shop" saw I'd have to stay true to my word, get something else. I'd say this saw would come in handy if say, you lived out on acreage and needed some repair work done to a fence or something of the sort and the nearest outlet is 500ft away...this would come in handy. But, then again...For its price tag, I can get a simple $99 tablesaw and a simple Generator for less. Toss it in the back of the truck and mosey on down. Nonetheless, your video was a good review 👌 👍
It’s all great until you have to fix the tool or get parts for it. Chervon is bad at that. I Have a Kobalt cordless miter saw I cannot get parts for. That’s the same company that makes these flex tools.
I apologize for the late reply and unspecified criticism. If we can’t hear the strain put on the motor, how are we to determine the strength/draw of/on the motor? In my opinion, hearing the motor under strain in real time would be helpful. Then again, I too am guilty of ADD and understand why you would keep things fast paced.
Flex has done a great job reinventing the woodworking tools everywoodworker uses. Your tool reviews are always honest....as are you. Well done!!
Thanks Frank! FLEX really makes some amazing tools!
Nicely said
Really appreciate the episode which involved the overheat aspect.
Thank you
No problem!👍👍
Very, very impressive piece of engineering. FLEX Table saws ROCK. My favourite though is 10"
I agree! FLEX is really raising the bar with their new tolls they're releasing
Awesome review guys!
Thanks, Matt! We watched a tone of your videos for inspiration HAHA

The fact that it can do that is HUGE! These are some awesome tools👍👍
Oh yea these are clean! Soon I'm gonna be purchasing one!
Dude, they're DEFINITELY worth it!
I wish reviewers would mention the decibel rating. I know it’s a friggin table saw and it will be loud but some are louder than others.
That's a good idea. We never even considered that
Nice job and thanks for the information on the flex saw looks great. I did by there router still waiting for it to be delivered. Hey Merry Christmas later Andrew
Thanks Andrew! Same to you👍👍
Great review as usual guys!
Thanks buddy!
Will this saw accept dado Stack
It seems to have enough clearance, but we didn't have one to try it. So we don't know for sure
@@oldave100What is the weight on the 10" saw, did it seem to bog down under load at any point?
Awesome! Can the 10” run a stacked dado?
I think so, but don't know for sure. We didn't try to run one but there's a lot of room there
I hope Home Depot and Lowes and costco and same club carry it. and what size of dust collector port in back?
Lowe's carries all the flex tools. I believe its 2" but I don't know for sure
Great review, how much life do you out of the battery?

Nice job EZ E. I like those work tables you have them setup on. I was looking into getting one of those...🤘🤘🤘🤘

I kind of agree. It's a good concept, but I wouldn't use it. That's why I like that they give you the option to turn it off
Does it come with a foldable stand?
Unfortunately no.
Darn! Another tool I’m not going to be able to find in the UK!!!!! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 that sucks man!
What is the price?
The 8 1/4" is 449 bare tool and the 10" is 549 bare tool.
Beats the crap out of that Festool product. I heard when they come out with the 120/240version it will have the SawStop technology.
Can this saw do dado?v
I believe so, but can't tell you for sure. We don't use dados hardly ever so we didn't try
👍👍👍.Thanks Lads
Any time, buddy!
I wonder what people are saying now seeing Flex has really flex their muscle.
😂😂I see what you did there...nice!
