    my only gripe is that the AC Adapter is an EXTRA $200. That should come with a $600 tool, whether you get the kit with battery or not.

    • @justin837
      @justin837 10 месяцев назад +4

      Prefer it came with the kit rather than a battery. That way if you weren’t on the platform. You could start out with this and build from there.

    Very excited for this saw, man. Thank you for illuminating the impressive dust collection - think you were the first to point out those little “wings” on the side of the blade in all the videos I’ve watched. That it performed that well with just the weird little Ryobi bucket shopvac (and maybe not even that tight of a seal from the port to hose) is indeed real nice like.

    those holes on the fence are neat as it lets you customize your fence. It wouldn't hurt to change rpm when you want to or add a turbo

    Now all that Milwaukee has to do is come up with a new miter saw that has a bevel release mechanism thats on the front of the handle (kinda like Bosch has). Also should add a better clamp than the twisty one. You should do a short video on whats the tallest board this saw can cut vertically. Maybe a piece of fat crown molding or baseboard
    Thanks for showing this to us👌

    • @AltruisticWarrior

    I really like the bevel adjustment. still wish the rails were to the front other then that it looks like a great tool but i wouldn't be able to have it in my small shop. can't afford the extra 10 inches it needs.

  • @philipdove1705

    Flex did s good job on that saw. Wish Milwaukee would make a power ac adapter for all m18 tools

    • @stevenpodolsky5164
      @stevenpodolsky5164 10 месяцев назад

      The point of battery tools is not to be tied to actual power. If you want a power cord than buy a corded saw. It’s that simple. I love my Milwaukee cordless 12” mitrebox and don’t miss having a corded saw at all.

    • @philipdove1705
      @philipdove1705 10 месяцев назад

      @@stevenpodolsky5164 I believe most all battery tools would greatly benifit to have ac power options because batteries only last a few years before they expire. If working in the bush using solar and a large battery bank. And the m18 batts go bad for some reason you can still plug into an inverter and keep on trucking. Having 2 sets of tools would take up too much shop space

  • @scottbionicnerf8727
    @scottbionicnerf8727 11 месяцев назад +1

    So.. correct me, if I'm wrong, but from what you're saying from 1st hand experience is this is a battery powered tool you won't wish you could plug in to get more power.

  • @RomanMcClaine
    @RomanMcClaine 11 месяцев назад +2

    Battery powered saws are interesting, but when you do the math on a Jackery or Ecoflow battery compared to 3 or 4 of those 10 Ah 24V stacked lithium Flex batteries it becomes a no-brainer to get a corded saw and a "camping" battery to drive it since you get 2 to 3 times the battery capacity for the price (and it's not brand-locked at that point either).

    The DeWalt's were dying because they were not using an actual AC to DC inverter. The saw was natively 120v DC with a motor controler inverting the DC to "an" alternating current waveform powering the brushless motor. DeWalt tried to power the saw with regular "wall" AC current waveform, which was not the same as what motor required to run correctly. The Flex either seems to be licensing or has found a patent work around for Hikoki's inverter technology.

    How heavy duty is the extending wings for wood support?

  • @tom.coomes

    I am really curious of how much deflection it has fully extended at 90 degrees and deflection on a 45 degree bevel fully extended. I am a woodworker and at the moment the saw with the least amount of deflection is the Festool. But I am not about to drop $1,700 on a miter saw.

      I've heard a couple people talking about leaves. I've never had the issue and wasn't aware there was a recall. From what I heard, ir wasn't the actual cells that were leaking, but a black battery protection of some sort. Thay said, I've heard the people that mentioned it say that the batteries were replaced pretty easily and haven't had any more issues, so they probably figured out what was going on

      Will have to look more into this battery issue, but anecdotally I've had more issues with companies NOT issuing recalls when they clearly should, than the alternative. Every situation is different, but so long as they're addressing the problem that could be a plus in my book.
