  • In this Flex Table Saw Review, I got my hands on the brand new 8-inch and 10-inch table saws from Flex, featuring their new CutSense technology. After running through the specs, features, and performance marks that make these table saws stand out, I run them through a series of cuts in plywood, 2x, and 4x lumber to see just how much power we're able to get out of these cordless table saws.
Yes, they are cordless table saws, but one of the most interesting new accessories that come alongside these table saws is a Flex AC adaptor that allows them to also be corded for unlimited runtime. We'll also dive into CutSense, a new technology exclusive to the 10" Flex Table Saw that allows the saw blade to automatically stop when it senses the load decrease, keeping you from having to turn off the saw manually.
We'll provide more info on the AC Adaptor when it comes into the shop, but for now, don't forget to like this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to Pro Tool Reviews for more!

Thank you for actually pushing the saw. Real working experience.
    Unseen integrity for RUclips.

Both of these table saws look really nice! If I didn’t already have the Milwaukee m18 table saw, I would look to buy that 10” one. Bummer the 10” doesn’t come with the side extension like the 8-1/4”. Great video thank you!

My guess is they have the same motors but the 8 1/4” has less blade to spin, thus when you were really pushing the 2x material it didn’t bog down like the 10”.

9:32 - and the other benefit could be saving fingers
Turns out, quite a few people got hurt removing the piece and forgetting to stop the saw

Great video thanks. How would you say the power compares to the flexvolt saw. I got rid of the DeWalt as it was under powered when ripping 2x material and chewed batteries way quicker than I could charge them. I feel the AC adaptor could help with this

This is the table saw I'm still looking for. Battery operated with the option of a cable version. But it's not offered here in Germany!?

And it has two table slots.
Really wish my Dewalt FlexVolt had two slots. And there’s no AC adapter. And the riving knife etc are quite thin.

My guess is the 10” didn’t perform well cutting 4x material since it wasn’t shown?

It performs just fine. Other videos demonstrate it well.

The 81/4 most probably appeared stronger because the 10 inch saw was tested with the cut sense feature turned on.

I'm interested in buying the 10" saw, but I can't seem to find it avertised on their site, or anywhere else, despite having seen it mentioned in a few reviews. Does anyone have a link to find it?

The CutSense is a safety feature. Clearly it's minimizing exposure, and lessening the chance for kickback.
So not at all comparable to SawStop AIM, but I would love to have that as a safety feature.

    • @fZionists78
      @fZionists78 Месяц назад

Nope. Not at all comparable. It’s superior by every measure…unless you can’t use a saw properly.
…at which point you shouldn’t be using a saw.

I heard the arbors are long enough to accept a dado stack. Is this true?

So they copied DeWalt's rack'n'pinion fence system pretty much 1:1, it even attaches to the rails the same way. In fact, the only things I see that are not a complete dewalt rip off are the LED strip in fence and the fold down extension table (which they copied off the Festool CSC SYS 50).

@@fZionists78 It's all about the position of the force. The force should be closer to the blade than the fence, that way the material is encouraged into the fence instead of into the back of the blade.
