    FYI - not sure it matters, but, I did the first oil change on my 2024 Kia Forte with the 2.0 engine and the filter I removed had the W marking (not Y) and no hologram. The filter I purchased from a Dealer was the same - W and no hologram.

      That's interesting. I'll be sure to check my next filter purchase. Either way, if bought from a dealer I wouldn't be concerned about it.

    I bought the same 10 pack and they look and feel authentic. Have the holographic sticks and the implanted Hyundai logo inside. Last me for a long time.

    I've read several horror stories of KIA refusing to fix failed THETAs without air-tight service records. From day one my dealer's service manager told me that it's OK to do my own oil changes, but stressed to keep good paperwork. I've started buying the filters from my local dealer's parts counter. $8 out the door, free crush washer, and I have a paper trail that shows I bought a genuine filter from them. It's worth the extra couple of bucks to me for a little more piece of mind should the $8000 engine go boom in the bad rod bearing lottery.

    Thanks for doing this video and providing the link...i've been wary of the amazon filters so it was good to see somebody review one and provide the actual link.

      I'm glad it was helpful. These filters are without a doubt "as good as it gets" where Hyundai/Kia are concerned. I've spoke with two different Kia service writers in two different cities in Indiana, and both confirmed things will go smoother with OEM filters in place.
      Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment!

    I saw the new packaging at my local AutoZone. Definitely genuine filters. Walmart also sells these and instead say "Mann+Hummel" without the holographic sticker. Same part number ending in "35505"

    Great video thanks for sharing. What size oil filter wrench does a 2020 Kia Forte LXS use? Also, Can you tell me how many quarts of oil I should put in it? When changing the oil.

    I was kind of concerned that none of the oil filters ive gotten from the dealership had the hologram sticker on the bottom. whats the deal? I also noticed that your filters dont say "HANN+HUMMEL KOREA" like mine do.

      I'm not sure of oil filters going to the dealership market. They could be different as far as markings go, but there are at least two different manufacturers of H/K OEM filters and very likely more.
      If you got it from a dealer, I wouldn't worry about it's quality.

    May I know what is the torque spec required to tighten the oil drain plug, with the OEM washer and for the transmission fluid drain plug?

    • @pmtips4482
      @pmtips4482  7 месяцев назад

      I use 33 to 35 foot pounds on both steel and aluminum pans and steel drain plugs with fresh gaskets. Those are mostly 14 mm drain plugs (thread size). On the Cummins steel on steel...the specified torque is 40 ft/lbs on a Genos magnetic plug.
      Thanks and work safe!

    10.pack lacks the washers. I bought separately. Almost bought the six pack but both my Hyundai's, a 2.7 v6 & 2.4 I4 use the 505 filter. Better purchase for me.

      @@pmtips4482 someone said that manufacturers make OEM filters to suit the design of their engines, making us think that if you dont use OEM filters your going to harm your car. find this hard to believe. i think non OEM filters will usually work good some might filter better or have better internal materials.

    • @pmtips4482
      @pmtips4482  Год назад

      Not sure about that. I would just look closely at construction and quality. It's possible the Koreans cut out the holograms to save a penny or two.

      Hello, silly question maybe you can help. I ordered 2 kia 26320 3C100 off of EBay. I had always used Kia filters but when I went to synthetic oil I tried an aftermarket STP extended life filter. I had no problems for 700 miles and then I started getting multiple misfires caused by vvt. Replacing the filter with kia genuine and the oil thankfully fixed the problem. So kia for me. Anyway the 2 filters arrived and they are Hyundai same part number (they shorted me the drain gaskets) So my question, are the kia cartridge filters the same as Hyundai? I am guessing that they are. If not I will return them. Thank You

    • @pmtips4482
      @pmtips4482  2 года назад

      Yes, they are the same filter.
      It's pretty cool your vvt issue corrected itself though.
      Best of luck to you!

      @@pmtips4482 Yes my wife shut it off within 2 blocks. I honestly didn't know what it was. I had multiple misfire on the rear cylinders. Front 3 we're fine. Checked compression and got some wild readings. I thought that the rear timing chain had jumped. So I pulled of VC's. Chains were good. Replaced plugs because it had 81k on it. Valve cover gaskets were starting to leak from cracking. But restarted it, same issue. Got oil and a Kia filter and it ran perfect. Just changed oil again at 84,400.
      Got lucky I guess. Thank You. Too bad they don't put a new gasket in the kit. I could reuse it though.

      @@dodgerblue7381 Right, I've been lucky on my 6 and 10 pack purchases from Amazon as I got the drain plug washer/gasket in both packs.
      They are a heavy duty washer too, I use them a few times each and torque to 35 foot pounds.
      Have a good one!
