Here in England,I remember watching this when I was about 6 or 7 years old in the mid 70's on a Saturday morning followed by World Of Sport? Great days👍🫡
Don’t forget watching the dirt bike scrambling on World of sport straight out afterwards on our bikes with no mud guards and cards attached with cloths pegs too make the motor noise by flipping against the spokes 😂 then back in too watch kendo Nagasaki against Jimmy brakes wrestling .
Ron Ely was ace …. Tarzan was the best on a Sunday afternoon… they even used Johnny Weissmuller’s call which was by far the best Tarzan call ever…great memories
I did the Tarzan call at the top of our stairs at night when our grandmother use to look after us and we were meant to be in bed asleep, she could climb the stairs, so I’d do it and mimic the theme out too 😂😂😂 that’s was in the early 70’s 👍 Carefree times I miss ❤
Thank you for bring back childhood memories! I LOVED this show and impressed my friends when I took an old knife and did a very good job of duplicating the blade and more importantly the handle. That handle fascinated me as a child.
Although I was born in 1972 U remember seeing this Tarzan TV show over here in Northern Ireland as a child. When I saw the animals and heard Tarzan's iconic yell in the opening credits the childhood memories came flooding back.😢😢🦁🌴
Wow, takes me back to my childhood in the 60's & 70's. Always loved Ron Ely as Tarzan & as for Daktari...what else is there to say. Absolutely loved them all as a kid.
I have been reading people here down playing Ron Ely as Tarzan. I was a Weissmuller fan. But Ron Ely was a true tough guy Tarzan. He did his own stunts. He even wrestled a lion that was not fangless. He was taken to the hospital because of the lion.

I’m 61 and remember this show well from my childhood. I always thought Tarzan was cool. Fun memories. I haven’t seen that opening in about 45 or 50 years, Fun! 👍🏻😺
As a child and even teenager, Johnny Weismuller's Tarzan left me enthralled. To communicate with animals so effortlessly, to have a band of powerful animals as your loyal friends was so thrilling. I loved JW's Tarzan and the character of Tarzan too. Still my favorite hero. That call sends thrill chills down my back. So wonderful to hear it. Something savage and wild about it, not part of industrial society. I also loved The Phantom comic books. Purple outfit, white horse, black dog, and jungles. Another hero.
I used to love the Tarzan Call…Awww yeee ya yaa ye ya hee ay a awww Sept 2015 I & some friends did a Tough Mudder course for Help for Heroes… 1 obstacle was a 5metres wall with basically a wide ladder attached, we climbed that wet wooden muddy ladder crested the top ( 3” thick boards ) & found it was a rope to to the ground… me 44 at the time recalled this Tarzan series and let out an Awww yeee ya yaa ye ya hee a awww… laughter all around from mates, nearby competitors & spectators… Best Tarzan show ever
Imagine being 10 and living across Olympic size swimming pool with 12ft deep diving pit. Saturday morning right after Tarzan ended at 11am, you and 30 of your buds are immediately at the pool yelling like Ron here And diving off the 4 meter platform. And don’t forget to flex your knee while shouting with a crack in your voice. Nailed it….🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Watched it as a kid in the 70’s..thought it was great …for me it was the knife he carried on his hip…had a plastic one…later in life got the real thing..
Yo también fui niño en los 70s y aquí en México pasaban esta serie ..nunca me la perdía.. ahora tengo 51 años y soy abuelo. A donde se va el tiempo..😮😮😢.

The Tarzan of the 69 to late 76? Amazing how familiar that sounds after 55 or so years. Etched deep in my memory.

This is the TV theme I remember on Saturday mornings. Ron Ely was a great Tarzan
