My favorite quote from MacGyver: MacGyver is being held hostage, and the bad guys are forcing him to repair some machinery. All the bad guys leave the room, except for a kid who they left in charge of watching him. MacGyver picks up a metal part. Bad guy - "What's that?" MacGyver- "Lateral... cranial... impact enhancer." One thing I remember clearly on this show was Macgyver mentioning of his disdain for weapon use. He showed it best on one episode where he removed the barrel of a pistol to use it as a wrench to shut of or release some valve. He then commented to himself that for once he found good use for a handgun or something along those lines. I must had been around ten years old when I watched that scene and I'm 44 now and I still remember it. Now compare that with today's shows or movies where blood is spilled like water.

I LOOOOOVVVEEED RDA. Like when it came on, I made sure I prepared popcorn and a drink, and no one but no one was to interrupt me during that time. We had one color TV in the house of 4 kids, and it was mine for an hour. No one else in the house watched it. I think I was the only 6th grade girl who had RDA posters in my locker. My heart still hitches when I hear this song.
Good times. I miss my dad this was one of his favorite shows, I would always hear the theme playing as I went to bed for school. There is something missing in our world in today's time it just seems so different now. The '80s will never be duplicated such a simpler time.
I grew up with this and I used to tape each episode, watch it and paus it and writing down his tricks in a notebook. I am from Minnesota as well, but grew up in Luxembourg (E.U.), where I always watched it in German, while my grandma used to watch it in MN. During each trip to the US, she and I talked about MacGyver, and the fact that he (and Richard D. Anderson) is from MN as well. It was nice to talk with my grandma about something which I watched back home in Luxembourg, and which she used to watch in MN. I was sitting on a stool by the kitchen counter as a teen, while she was cleaning something, and we talked about our favorite episodes. Wesnesdays at 19:15 on "Kanal 1" or "TV1" here in Sweden. Watched with my dad, religiously.
Rewatched it, or started to as an adult. What we just watched here is the best part of every episode. 🙈
Yes, many of his antics are far fetched, but I never tire of this series. I could watch him all day. He is very agile, a great actor and comes across as very humane
I totally wanted to marry him
Good times. I miss my dad this was one of his favorite shows, I would always hear the theme playing as I went to bed for school. There is something missing in our world in today's time it just seems so different now. The '80s will never be duplicated such a simpler time.
0:19 When you use Miso Soup to escape a Japanese prison
Grew up in the 80's. Cape Town. South African kids grew up on The Mac. Always a moral lesson encoded.
And MacGyver is like.. "Oh I didn't see you there, while I was trying to repair this aeroplane. Now I'll just smile, everybody's happy"
The only person that could make engineering cool
I loved the episode concerning the rhinos. He spoke at the end of the show saying how few there are left. It was touching.
[insert IKEA joke here]
But seriously, wonderful show.
God bless the 80s and 90s.
I always used to borrow DVD copies of this from relatives when I could when I was around 13. This show is a masterpiece through a through
I grew up with this and I used to tape each episode, watch it and paus it and writing down his tricks in a notebook.
I miss the 1980s, and the simpleness of being a teen.... compared to what life is today, Nov. 30th 2020
The best.
