Chaplin is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest performer in the history of film not to mention the most important and I'm not taking anything away from Harold Lloyd or Buster Keaton but Chaplin had the absolute IT factor,he made the entire world laugh and cry without ever saying a word not to mention his shear geneis of use of music for his films..his name is not just a name..it's a word in the English language.
Chaplin was basically a very sophisticated comic dancer.
The silent movie period was exactly what best suited his talent.

Fun fact : The lion in this video was a Barbary Lion which was believed had extincted since 1960's but somehow 3 cubs had been born last year in Czech Republic.
