This movie has so much heart; and when he saves Jackie at the end, faith in humanity restored.

I saw this film today for the first time in my life. Because the film is 100 years old, it was remastered in 4K and shown in many (small) theatres and arthouses in The Netherlands. I'm 28 years old and it's one of the best films I have ever seen in my entire life. I love the combination of drama and comedy. I love the characters. I've enjoyed every second of it. The Kid was a breakthrough in silent cinema. I will never forget what i've experienced today. A special day forever and a movie that touched my heart and soul.
It's a magnificent form of the silent era... the good old days 👍
It's a masterpiece indeed!
That little boy grew up to be Uncle Fester from the 1960s version of the Addams Family! He's literally the first child star in film history.

I loved Chaplin as a child. After watching this brilliant performance, laughing out loud, I realised why I loved his movies so much as a child. I will now have a lot of wonderful catch up to do! I read his biography last Summer. He has picked up on so many things from his horrid, poor childhood in his comedy. Brilliant man and I am so glad that he made a success of his life!
