I saw this film today for the first time in my life. Because the film is 100 years old, it was remastered in 4K and shown in many (small) theatres and arthouses in The Netherlands. I'm 28 years old and it's one of the best films I have ever seen in my entire life. I love the combination of drama and comedy. I love the characters. I've enjoyed every second of it. The Kid was a breakthrough in silent cinema. I will never forget what i've experienced today. A special day forever and a movie that touched my heart and soul.
Charlie chaplin is the best example of the world that if you don't have friends and no one to give you company just be your own companion and enjoy your own company, and the world will have to stand and give congratulation on your success.
Thank you very much you have brought me back to many years when I was a child and I saw silent films with my paternal grandfather's projector. A true genius a great artist.
I loved Chaplin as a child. After watching this brilliant performance, laughing out loud, I realised why I loved his movies so much as a child. I will now have a lot of wonderful catch up to do! I read his biography last Summer. He has picked up on so many things from his horrid, poor childhood in his comedy. Brilliant man and I am so glad that he made a success of his life!
Charlie Chaplin had a real hard life, and despite (or because) of that he made others laugh. He never showed any form of sadness in public which is remarkable. That’s what I call a real talent. You use your negative lot in life and you transform it into something beautiful.
Charli Chaplain really genius . Even though a silent movie but not silent . Every movements talking . Gold is gold even 100 years passed . The child artists very fine .
For the first time in many years, a movie made me smile and laugh out of genuine glee and by that I mean no "This-is-funny-enough-I-blew-air-through-my-nose" kind of funny... Yet, this isn't a movie and it's older than me! They don't even talk! Shows how much modern day movies are subpar in quality because most are more action oriented at the expense of the storyline
Most millenials had to learn how things were from the past all the way to the present. Cassette tapes, laser discs, rotary phones, typewriters, beepers! Then cellphones became popular.. And eventually found itself into the smartphones we use today. I wonder how the younger people will ever understand old films later on? Lol
This episode is still my favorite I have seen this thousands of time. Can't get enough. Love Charlie Chaplin and the kid ❤️ watching again in March 2022

It's a magnificent form of the silent era... the good old days 👍
It's a masterpiece indeed!
My advice is to watch other Chaplin movies, Modern Times, Gold Rush and the Great Dictator
Try some Buster Keaton Silent Films, or Laurel $ Hardy Silent Films.
Genius that did great, without high tech.
I'm so glad Chaplin was in my recommendations 😊!
