Growing up in Brazil and watching Mr bean with my friends, we never felt like he was a foreign character. The physical comedy was always universal and we didn't even need dubbing or subtitles to enjoy.
In this video we can see that, when Mr Bean HAS to talk for the bit to work, Rowan can also perform wonderfully. Shows the genius of it.
Never thought of it that way! Surprised people outside UK watched it :)

I'm from Pakistan, and I used to watch Mr. Bean on Cartoon Network every night (the real show, not the animated series). Those were some of the best 8 pm's of my life. Ah, the nostalgia!

I love how he proceeds to propose to Cilla at the end after he was rejected by his blind date. Now that's a man who keeps his options open🤣🤣. I was so saddened by the passing away of Cilla and I miss her.

An absolutely legendary performer. Rowan Atkinson is a genius, and I'd like to thank him for the many laughs over the years, though not so much with Maigret. Blackadder, Thin Blue Line, et Monsieur L'haricot are complete gems.
Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson) is a comedic genius, in the series he barely says a word. I think if someone can make you laugh without even speaking, that is an unbelievable talent
