Rowan Atkinson and Angus Deayton in Boston doing a live performance of the same styles of humor we've seen in Mr. Bean and Blackadder. Included are lessons on Shakespearean acting, a school headmaster meeting with the father of a boy he's beaten to death, and tips for having a successful date.
Welcome to Earful Comedy, are you after the comedy on the go? You've come to the right place. Have an earful of the funniest stand-ups, interviews and game shows.
Rowan Atkinson's ability to keep a straight face borders on a superpower.
Hes an actor though telling a joke or a wind up in real life it is very hard to stay straight face
@@ivantheterrible6959 It's more than that. According to the special features for Blackadder, he NEVER cracked up or lost composure even once while shooting any of the four seasons. Compare that to the blooper reel for any other comedy show.
@@redstonecasey4713 Yes, he admits he doesn't have a loud laugh and just exhales from his nose. He's very technical about comedy and see's why things are funny rather than laughing at something funny. So he sticks to the script word for word for maximum effect.
@@ivantheterrible6959 An actor fucks up once in a while, this is live no redos no excuses, that is impressive i'd say.

That was great! 👍

Its not just about jokes. It's about masterclass acting, facial expressions, body gestures, miraculous voice, dialogue delivery, pitch and tone of voice, and whatnot.
Genius for so many reasons.
I dont act, but even I could tell that it wasn't just being a good comedian and writing jokes, but it is an act, a story, a jest, an art, and your right, nailing the correct movements, facial expressions and body language really hits the nail on the head when it comes to painting a picture with your mind

Second to Jim Carrey
@@TheIlham980 what? how.. no.. Jim Carrey was more dumb jokes and slapstick, i believe that he can pull of one of Atkinsons performances when i see it. I'm assuming you can read lips well or are you talking about Mr. Bean? If it's the former, how do other stand-up comedians fare for you? Genuinely curious here, sorry
OK with decent sub-titles.

This is why I love British humour. Rowan Atkinson is a LEGEND.
A masterpiece of English humor
Rowan is indeed, one to bring you to tears. I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants. It is a very rare comedian who can create and project so many different characters and own so many facial expressions as to believe he is actually the person personified. All of his stand-up, movies, and series are unparalleled. We, as Americans, are especially enamored of British humor, but Rowan is the Best. Love him to death.
And I think he is also one of few that are liked in almost any culture or region in the world. He is wonderful in creating an image with words and face expression alone.

That indian restaurant sketch, while ircky with the accent and such, is absolutly brilliant technically. No probs, no actors, no scenery, absolutely vivid
I was wondering if anyone else appreciated that. The role of the tortured restauranteer was like nothing I'd ever seen. I've used the "deceptively flat" line since hearing this many years ago, not because anyone has the foggiest idea what I'm talking about, but just because I enjoy remembering that sketch. It's tough to find a better blend of timing, vocal inflections, body movement and that level of writing. That's some serious commitment.
