    The AVANCUS Apex Power V2 and the Apex Power High Top are both designed to support powerlifting and strength training.
    As a fan of the original AVANCUS Apex Power, I was curious to see what was different with the V2 or if it would perform any less strongly than the OG model. I was also curious to see how the Apex Power High Top compared to my other favorite high top training shoes.
    In my AVANCUS Apex Power V2/High Top overview video, I'll cover some first thoughts about these shoes and sizing and compare the V2 to the Radix.
    0:00 First Impressions
    5:15 Sizing and Fit
    6:01 Apex Power V2 vs Notorious Lift Radix
    8:38 Final Thoughts
    At the end of the day, the Apex Power has once again not missed regarding its performance for lifting.
    I think for the price, it's tough to beat the Apex Power when it comes to barefoot shoes truly optimized for strength training and powerlifting.
    In addition, the Apex Power High Top has now added another viable option for high-top lovers wanting a shoe for hypertrophy and strength sessions.

    Just had to shout out about your review of those white hi tops are 🔥 Your breakdown was legit, I see what you're saying about the laces too. Appreciate the video, bro. Keep hitting those squats and deadlifts! I enjoyed the detailed insights in this review.

      Thank you! In a nasty hybrid phase of training so it's been fun playing with running volume and lifting intensity and seeing where my thresholds exist.

    Been planning on buying some avancus. Never felt the need for hi top, but when I saw earlier this week that they'd be releasing, I'm now on the fence. They look pretty nice.

    I’m definitely looking forward to getting a pair of the high tops! I’ve been waiting for this review and their release! How do they compare to say, old school Otomix shoes if you are familiar with those?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад

      These are wider with better grip. I don't love the Otomix shoes, tbh - that may be a controversial take, tho. They're kind of ugly and are basically wrestling shoes, lol.

      I believe it's auto applied, or it's "TF2" or "thatfitfriend" - I'm not sure, LOL. If those don't work, then I'd use "WOOLSON" or one of the athlete's codes to support them. Appreciate you checking out the video!

    i like the more structured look of the avancus. would you say there's any difference in regards to which would fit wider avancus or radix? I have VERY wide feet...

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад +1

      These feel a smidge wider than the Radix, HOWEVER, I think that's because they run longer. In terms of pure width at base of forefoot etc. they're pretty similar

    I have questions about the Radix vs Aerolux. I’ve run through the tread on two pairs of Bearfoot Ursus specifically on bench within a year. I rely on a lot of grip with my leg drive. My question is which tread feels better and which feels like it’s gonna run down faster?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад

      Go for the Radix or cop the AVANCUS. These models won't miss for you, imo

    I noticed these run kinda small too. I just got the blue and white 2.0’s and I normally wear 13 in all shoes but these feel a bit snug around the toes. I’d size up half a size.

    • @Wemmajammah
      @Wemmajammah 2 месяца назад

      If you have a thicker wider foot like me (I’m 290 lbs 6’3”) size up half size i regret not getting 13.5. But these will work once I beat them up a bit.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, I think they'll stretch for you. Interesting you find them snugger, I wonder if there's a discrepancy with larger sizes or because it's a straight 13 versus the 10-10.5.

    How do these fare as basketball shoes? I've been searching for a barefoot/wide toe box basketball shoes but I haven't found any

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад +1

      I can't really speak defintivetly to that since I haven't tested them in that vertical and don't want to blow smoke, but I feel like the high-top would be solid. Enough ankle support like traditional basketball shoes and good grip.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Месяц назад +1

      AVANCUS by a smidge, but I think that's also due to the upper having a tad more volume!

    Would u recommend these for a lot of plyometric training outside on concrete?

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 месяца назад +1

      They should be okay if you're hitting it 1-2x a week, but you may be better served with something like the Inov-8 Bare XF or Xero Shos HFS, though.
      Only because the grip [lugs] of these will be awesome, but it may actually be too grippy and break down faster from excessive stress.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  Месяц назад +1

      I'd give the slight edge to AVANCUS because the upper is a little more rigid, but in reality...idt most lifters will reallllyyy notice a difference when training.

    I’d like to know something: have you ever experienced differences in tackiness/grippiness based on outsole color ? let me explain: the chinese table tennis pros use black rubbers only on the forehand cos’ it generates more spin and control than the red version of the same product, and it’s harder to generate spin and control on forehand in the modern powerfull table tennis, do you think there are differences between white and black or even natural rubber outsoles ?
