Being in Florida I am so happy to see more from our state actually tying to push the envelope of Learning, Creativity and exploration of the best thing on the planet NO One can stop you from developing or expanding no matter how hard they tell you you cant , you will never be able to do anything with your life, blah blah blah we have all heard it over and over!
Thank God some of the Very Best in, Teaching, Education, Sports and many other areas are willing to try and push the boundaries, that is what I am hoping your product will do so we can help those whom are disabled are not just people to be pushed aside and ignored. I want to help break those walls down so disabled people can be injected back into life and have them get a feeling of self worth again.
So what's the point if you can't show us the product?
it's literally .............a hololens with more fov and variable focus........and it's small-ish glasses wired to a box in your pocket and most likely 2 versions $1200 and $1500..........................and that's it

Actually it's using a completely different technology, that, if I understand it correctly, will be able to work better in high and low light conditions, and look much much much more realistic, if they aren't using that tech, and this is a scam, (and I don't think it is, but it could very well be) then I will definintely try to gather a team to work on something like this lol

the joke is, the nsa is using this device currently in their labs. just because you can't hold it in your hands as a consumer, doesn't mean they didn't make the product. they did.

The mere fact that they are in South Florida was the first red flag for me. I live here and there is definitely a lack of developers and engineers and I can verify this by the tons of job openings magic leap has that are not getting filled. It's all too suspicious.

they work with the department of defense and nasa. there is a good reason they have more money invested into this project than any other investor project ever before.
I maintain this is a Hideo Kojima ARG that was originally for Silent Hills but is now for Death Stranding since, you know, *Konami*, and that's why it's taking so long.
With all the talent and resources you have, can you perhaps spellcheck your on-screen credits. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington, or did the other L magically leap off the screen?

I think this is the turning point for me where I can now stop defending this company. So disappointing.
We're supposed to see this and wait 3 more months before seeing any product - the first iteration of which will be necessarily compromised and probably costs twice as much as the highest-end smartphone on the planet. I fear Magic Leap, who could very well be pioneers in this space, have poisoned the well of their messaging with overblown promises and target renders for too long without real concrete details.
The people seem to have a strong vision, and I'm still compelled by their considered approach to the concept of what "mixed reality" is and can be for us... But I really don't want to have to watch them congratulate themselves for changing the world before I see any evidence of that change.

I am in the post PC era. Apparently I am going to witness the post screen era.
The new device clearly shows that the FOV is limited , i would gess , at best may be 90 degrees , but most probably 60-80 degrees.
there was one article they allowed a journalist to post .....and he said it's slightly bigger than the hololens max 50 degrees .....but most likely less.....he said it's about the size of a vhs at half arm length

They have promising something for at least 5 years maybe more.
The real magic is how this company is still getting development money from investors.
Joke aside, there could be a real product out there that can potentially be more impressive than say HoloLens, but their implementation possibly hit so many hurdles during development it is taking longer than expected. That said, I care little for how impressive it is anymore. HoloLens and other AR experiences have the mind share and by the time Magic Leap releases, Their implementation might just be a visor upgrade to existing AR headsets. the only difference is how these images get to your eyes. Magic Leap claims that they mimic how natural eyesight works, and HoloLens uses a traditional method of using a display close to your face. So Magic Leap could potentially be better than HoloLens, but, in order for that to be claimed, a product, prototype or not should be shown. I also have no idea how well they can develop the software to back it up, but if they figure out the hardware side, then it'll just be a feature, not a product. I expect that Amazon, Google, Apple of even Microsoft might just buy them up if their product finally releases,

Have you guys read through these comments? Wow. You are really pissing people off with this type of marketing. Why does it continue? At this point, the actual product better be beyond mind-blowing and revolutionary or else it will be a disaster. I'm not sure why you guys have taken 5+ years to develop something and there isn't even a prototype yet. I have high hopes still, but the longer this is drawn out, the better the product will need to be. It's kind of ridiculous already.
Like the past years, I will loyally wait the needed time for the release of this amazing product!!!

Hey folks did anyone had a iPhone prototype In their hands before it's release??? N-o bc after that everyone stated to copy them!!!!!!! So shut it people, if you have no understanding how the world works!
It will have to be light as an ordinary glasses. It will have to be a FOV greater than 110 degrees. It will have to be high definition, no "screen door" effect or things like that. It will have to be no cables. It will have to be perfect tracking. No lag. And no external sensor to touch and manipulate things. Otherwise... it will be a failure with a hype like that.
it will be wired to a box in your pocket ......there is absolutely no way of doing it all in one and as small as we want at this point in time.....and this way it will be easier to produce and deal with heat and battery life..........and all of their patents have the box .....and the pic from the back of the person wearing the prototype was following that design
also it has to have great eye tracking and great hand tracking or small controllers ...for seamless interaction

Seems similar to all the hype around the Segway and might play out similarly: Great tech, that nobody needs enough to pay the outrageously high price. Besides of that this is a good example for a bad corporate video. Boring as hell. Just congratulating themselves how awesome they are. Would be better to keep your mouths shut until you have an actual product to show.

its a new kind of Google glass.. but more user friendly n good looking. and works like in the terminator movie or war plane pilot.. u can see the real world n over it u can see datas..maps,words,numbers etc.. so its a real deal

I am really glad Magic Leap posted this video. For the people who do not know they changed their website a week back and in that new website was a cryptic message in Morse code that was deciphered! They definitely like to play with people's heads and tease people crazy. I expect more videos to come even teasing things a bit more.
Posting this video after more than a year means things are changing from now on and by the looks of it things will be changing really fast as their website was revamped just a week ago. I am staying positive and i really want to see magic leap succeeding.
They have run out of things to spend money on. Product reveal impending.

Blah blah blah. You aren't going to be able to keep the hype alive without independent reviews of the actual product.
This proves that ML has indeed an awesome revolutionary product and is preparing for announcement/release. The amount of self-confidence that is required to release those kind of teaser videos is mind-boggling. They treat themselves as an inevitable and certain success. Only a truly game-changing product/software ecosystem could guarantee that.
This will change everything and I can understand why they have been so secretive, unfortunately like with the advent of smartphones it will be used mostly for trivialities adding an extra layer of disconnect among people. Vision is the highest bandwidth input into the brain, when you add an indistinguishable layer between the user and the real world (as this tech promises) that is run by the one of the biggest advertising distributors, tie that with all other AI tech they have in the pipeline... I can keep going but basically this will reshape tech for the next decade. Now it's easy to understand why Google did not pursue the glass any further. To everyone complaining about it being vaporwave, this needs to work great out the gate and have the proper framework around it, that includes infrastructure, marketing agreements and revenue streams. Its not just about the tech, they need the right ecosystem to ride one of the biggest tech waves ever. Where can I invest?

The hype behind the Hololens has come and gone, the product is literally over a year old now and Microsoft is working on their consumer release. Google and Apple are releasing augmented reality products, people are being exposed to the technology and the novelty factor is slowly wearing down.
Enough with this mystery nonsense, you're setting yourselves up for failure as the product will not be able to match the build up. By the time you actually have anything to show, people will be accustomed to the technology and it won't be anything mind blowing; like if it was shown two years ago...
That's why you have so many thumbs down, because people are seeing progress from your competitors and 'nothing' but hype from you. They're getting better, you're still hyping a product hidden behind a screen.
