Tara Lynn mold is a no go. I’ve dealt with 5 leaks in my home, and yep. Lawyer up. Mold has made everyone sick. I was on antibiotics for a year almost straight every month for respiratory, ear, nose infections. Bacterial infections. Dr. Tested my blood for mold spores. It’s no joke. I’d make them replace that carpet that got wet. Screw shop vac, and cleaning it.
So sad that the builder has made such an exciting and beautiful time in your life such a nightmare. 😕 I don't understand how you were not able to pick the finishes as it was being built. That company is not someone I would want to use. But you have a beautiful home to make good memories in. The pups are so sweet. I got such a kick out of watching their reactions to the first time seeing their new home. Loved the blinds you made and can't wait to see how you did them.
Beautiful house! There's a frosted window film you can apply that allows light while creating privacy. Amazon sells it in rolls, and you can spray the window with water, and squeegee it onto the window.
I have blinds by Norman that are honeycomb blinds. They make a “tops down bottoms up” version that you can have the bottom of the window covered and the top is open and letting light in.

The static privacy film that you can add to windows works wonders in bathrooms. It comes in lots of different styles and types. It’s cut to fit for your window so it works for goofy sized windows. Let’s lots of light come through but with privacy. I highly recommend.
Your house is sooo nice. In your powder room for the window have you thought of using frosted window stickers? You can buy them and stick them to your windows yourself. It doesn't take any light away it just stops people from seeing you.

It’s so exciting to see you back, Honey. For the loo window, personally, I’d use some of that window film stuff. It adds privacy and still allows the light in and I’d add some voils (really thin, sheer curtains) to soften the window frame and if you buy longer ones, they trick your eyes into thinking the window is much larger than it is. DIY idea/request, I’d love to see you make a tray for the dining table to home candles, plants, succulents etc as a table focal point. I’m bursting with excitement.... bring on the vids.... I’m ready! PS, I’m just making the jute rug, I’ve had to change it slightly to accommodate our room space but I’m loving it already! Love You, Honey.xxx

Glad you’re back! 🥰 We, too, just moved back to the Richmond area & into a new build! Cowinky-dink! I had the same “issue” with blinds that shared too much w/ neighbors! My suggestion, for now, is...open the slats to the max & then slide your hand down the bottom half of the blinds (you may have to slide down a couple of times). This way the top 1/2 of the slats are open (letting in light) and the bottom 1/2 of the slats are closed in the down direction (in case someone does look in, all they can see is the floor). Keep the videos coming!!!👍🏽
Down stairs bathroom I have seen a film u can put on the window for privacy. U wet window and squgie the water out between window and film. So glad ur back. Congratulations on the new home. Can't wait for window diy

I’d look at some window clings. They do stain glass and frosted looks and it’s like applying wallpaper to your window. But it can be easily be removed and it will allow light in.

Yes on frosted window film... I think you should put the window film on the bottom half and then hang a cute valance on top, leaving the middle portion open to bring in light.

My powder bath is on the side of my home next to my driveway and I got cordless shades at home depot but I know lowes ikea and other places sell them as well and they can be pulled from the bottom up so the bottom part is covered and the top is open or slide it down so the top is covered and the bottom is open and I have LOOOOVED THEM and have had them in for 4years come this November and have had zero.issues with them so far. They also have different light styles idk the correct term for them off the top of my head lol but some are much darker so no light comes in through them but then also a lighter version so light can still shine through the shade and so many different colors I got mine in white because that's what I liked and it's about a 5 in privacy so light can shine through the shades but not so much its blinding and so much that people can see through the shades but no so dark so no light shines through. I hope that makes sense hahaha. Beautiful home and the builder should absolutely be responsible for the mold and errors going on in your new home. There should absolutely be no reason for that if done correctly! Best of luck with everything! Our builder was unfortunately very specific on options that they would let us do. We chose the best of the 4 packages that they offered. But we will make it more ours as we live here ☺️

@@TheDIYCottage good luck sweetheart. If you can, I'd also contact a lawyer about the leak. That should have been pressure tested for leaks. Mold can make you really sick. We got out of our lease recently for it. I really do hope everything works out for you. You deserve better.

It's a chair by opal house that is sold at Target. I looked it up online and they are waaaaay more expensive online than they were in store. It's an outdoor chair, so it might be on clearance at your local store ☺️

Imagine the dinner party stories about how your home was almost consumed by poop😀 I know that you will make it beautiful. Is the workout room really the ALIEN INVASION PANIC ROOM? All the foil on the walls😀 The loo with a view - you can fix blinds so they work upside down, is, cover the bottom of the window then roll up to cover the top. It's a chair by opal house that is sold at Target. I looked it up online and they are waaaaay more expensive online than they were in store. It's an outdoor chair, so it might be on clearance at your local store ☺️

Given that you have rescued your new home from The Swamp Monster!! It looks lovely. Imagine the dinner party stories about how your home was almost consumed by poop😀 I know that you will make it beautiful. Is the workout room really the ALIEN INVASION PANIC ROOM? All the foil on the walls😀 The loo with a view - you can fix blinds so they work upside down, is, cover the bottom of the window then roll up to cover the top. Shutters work well too, I don't know what they cost in the USA, here in the UK, they are a bit pricey. Keep smiling, lovely Lady xxx
