On the third week of testing, he said that now I could drop it to only 1 per day, for maintenance. I continue taking 1 per day and will , forever. I took selenium daily (regular dose) for a few months and developed peripheral neuropathy as a result- extremely uncomfortable tingling sensation in hands and feet. @@danielledeems1285 It is possible to do keto on a budget. You can start with just you doing it instead of the whole family. The key is to just do the best you can within your means. Not everyone can afford organic, grass-fed beef and the like, including myself most of the time, so just get what's doable for you and start somewhere and make gradual changes you can maintain. It really is worth it. I had thyroid cancer and a total thyroidectomy in 2011, so I completely understand how unbearable it is, and also have had those doctors that just think it's all in our minds. I stopped looking to them for answers and started advocating for myself. Those doctors aren't looking to "cure" anyone, they just want to "manage" our illnesses so we have to keep coming back to them so they can get paid and write out more prescriptions. Best of luck and the keto community is always very kind and helpful!

It wasn’t discussed in this video if this supplement is for nodules that may be causing hyperthyroidism, as in my case. All the research I did discussed that selenium and cod liver oil are for nodules and hypothyroidism. Now I’m really confused. I was hoping this would help decrease my small nodule that may be causing my symptoms of overactive thyroid condition. I know Dr. Berg doesn’t respond to these comments, but does anyone else know? Thanks in advance.
I also have toxic goiter, benign thyroid nodules which causes my hyperthyroidism. I just had my RAI treatment 2 days ago. Doctor recommended it because I developed an allergic reaction to Methimazole, so I got switched to PTU. That’s my only treatment left, if I develop another allergic reaction with PTU I have nowhere to go. Good thing I didn’t. So i’ve been taking PTU for years and just recently had another thyroid ultrasound. The nodule slightly increased in size after 2 years. So I decided to just have it removed. I hope I made the right decision.
@@JJ_913 I also have thyroid nodules toxic multinodular goiter for at least 20 years now. by removal do you mean surgically, or with the RAI? I thought people get one or the other done, not both. You know PTU can cause bad liver damage at any time? I took it for 3-6 months started getting liver pains so I quit it and liver pain mostly stopped thankfully no damage showed in labs anyway. Other than that I’ve been taking methimazole the whole time. Doctors say it’s easier to keep steady thyroid hormone levels by ridding the nodules, by going from hyper to hypo, but many people here in comments are saying they have been worse after surgery, except maybe if it’s only half

I like to go to the comments to see if this info has helped anyone. I hear a lot of thank you but nothing about if this advise helped get rid of nodules. If this helps I would like to know and if it doesn't I would also like to know that. I also thank dr. Berg for all his content and I have been helped . He is my number one go to for health.
I took selenium daily (regular dose) for a few months and developed peripheral neuropathy as a result- extremely uncomfortable tingling sensation in hands and feet. After stopping for several days the symptoms went away. So do be careful with selenium. Dr Berg, how would you suggest taking selenomethionine without developing peripheral neuropathy? Thanks
Hopefully you will see this and maybe answer a question that no Dr around here wants to answer. I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's and had a biopsy and it was benign. My one nodule they couldn't aspirate and they have decided to watch my nodules. I was told my thyroid is half the size it's supposed to be and I have gained 60 lbs in the last year and a half and have every single symptoms and all they do is increase my levothyroxine and never feel any better. I've been told that I just have to learn to live with it, what can I do to feel better and get my weight off? I can't stand feeling this way.
@Proinseas Ni hAnluain No, I'm not. Keto is not a financial option at the moment. We were single income family, I just started back to work.
@Proinseas Ni hAnluain Thank you! Not really what I wanted to be doing, but it's a job. I never have time to call into his live show. I just want answers and the Drs here make me feel like I'm crazy. They have even told me to quit being so nervous about stuff. They just brush off my symptoms and believe me they are real.

You’re doing amazing things for this world ❤️
It wasn’t discussed in this video if this supplement is for nodules that may be causing hyperthyroidism, as in my case.

I currently have 2 nodules Tirads 3 and 5 but too small for biopsy. I have thyroid functions TSH, T3, T4 working perfectly based on test. I have HYPER thyroidism, Graves disease. Had nodules too. Ironically, was in remission for 4 yrs, but came back when I started fasting, it seems to have coincided. Doctor said no. Nothing else changed. Also, can run in the family.
Similar experience. I've never been diagnosed but recently completed a 3 day water fast [with electrolytes] and began not feeling well.. rapid heartbeats... ER dr said my thyroid T4 was abnormal, high and that he didn't think it was hyperthyroidism but basically headed that way since my thyroid was overactive... and the only thing I had done was Not eat ...

I could be wrong however wouldn’t the exposure from X-rays cause damage to your thyroid? I would research that, ultrasound sounds safer.

How much of vitamin E to take and can it be liquid? Also how much cod liver oil to take. Dr. Do you recommend a brand for both of these.
Thanks Doc. Just ordered selenium, vit E and Cod liver oil. Any dosage info will be great.
Beef kidneys are a great source of selenium. Even better than liver. Highly bioavailable as well, since it’s an animal food source.
The best source of selenium is tuna, hence why Asians eat mostly fish and they're thin and small naturally.

@@ZAPRandom I have no issues. Honestly I haven’t really thought about it. The surgeon who was checking me out in preparation for gallbladder removal is actually the one who noticed it.
