    Thanks! I’ve had an S49 MK2 for around a year and moved up to Komplete 13 CE in June and honestly I had zero idea how to get all of this to work outside of just running separate instances of KK or Kontakt for each midi channel 🤦🏻‍♂️ or that there was even a Kontakt view within KK to utilize the light guide.. I should read those manuals at a guess. My CPU likes me now. Thanks again!

      He is referring to adding multiple instruments such as Serum on midi channel 1, Omnisphere on midi channel 2, and Massive X on midi channel 3. Quite honestly, I wouldn't load an instance of Kontakt in Komplete Kontrol. It's pointless. Kontakt is it's own host for Kontakt plugins. Komplete kontrol is supposed to be a universal plugin host. Nice video my dude. But adding multiple instruments in Kontakt is elementary.

    Hi, very helpful video. But I didn't understand how to activate the lightguides for my workflow: the lightguides are functioning with highlighted instruments in Kontakt. But when I move to the next instrument in Studio One the lightguides are not following. So have I to activate the lightguides in Kontakt separately for the instrument tracks?

    • @tonylukashuk4965
      @tonylukashuk4965  3 года назад +1

      Yes, that is an unfortunate side effect of the fact that Komplete Kontrol is not really well setup for "multi's" (several instruments in one instance of KK) and so I would have to call this method somewhat of a "workaround". Fact is that if you want the keyboard to follow your track selection you really need to stick to one instrument per track. Normally, I don't use multi's for this very reason and I don't have an issue with resources. Cheers.

    Hi, thanks for a very good and informative video! Good for the CPU. Do you know how to enable the on-screen controls on the Komplete Kontrol keyboard? The lightguide works nice, but the normal instrument controls from the keyboard screen seems to disappear in my screen (it only says Kontakt). I expected the screen to change according to the instrument selected, just as when you have one instrument in Komplete Kontrol - but it doesn’t.

    • @tonylukashuk4965

      Thanks for reaching out. Sadly, the keyboard controls (assuming you meant the pots/knobs) ONLY work for the first instance and there is no work around such as there is for even updating the light guide. KK was just truly made for single instances it seems. It is the price we have to pay for using multi's in terms of keyboard funtionality.

      Unfortuneately, you have to manually switch the light guide with the mouse as I showed in the video. It can't be done from the DAW or the keyboard as the keyboard only recognizes the instrument on MIDI 1. It is a workaround really.

    Not sure I follow, So, when you duplicate the tracks, it creates multiple instances of Komplete Kontrol each with the 4 instruments and I'm wondering, why not create 4 instances of KK with each one having only 1 instrument. This way, when track is focus the lights would follow and work as intended. Not sure this is really making KK work in the way I had hoped - i.e. supporting multiple instances and working with my KK S61 with the lights and all. Please help me understand.

    • @tonylukashuk4965
      @tonylukashuk4965  Год назад

      True that that each instance could have midi channel changed to listen for any of the 4 instruments assigned by Kontakt multi. But the point of the exercise is to have each instance preconfigured for each of the 4 instruments. So when you change tracks you get the instrument you want without having to mess around. As far as the lights go, the way I show is the only way they work (changing manually). KK was not made for multi's because KK only created integration features to work with midi channel 1. So if you have an instrument you know you need to use knob controls, do that one first! The other 3 will not work. But at least there is the workaround for the light guide which is the most important one for me.

    • @tonylukashuk4965
      @tonylukashuk4965  Год назад +1

      That said, I only did that video as a service to others. I always have separate instances for every instrument and never use multi's for reasons just mentioned. Too much features lost for not enough resource gain to make it worth it.

      I'd like to know if is there a way to have the lights and all the others features of the mapped instrument on the KK with the multiple tracks.

    Perhaps it's user error, but I'm having difficulty routing multi-outputs in a single instance of Komplete Kontrol.
    My Specs:
    Logic Pro 10.7.7
    Late '21 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max.
    Komplete Kontrol 2.9.4
    Akai MPK-261
    It seems like Kontrol, itself, doesn't have a routing menu or the ability to do so. Do I have to perform this through Kontakt? It's very confusing. And I can't find anything online after a couple hours of searching.

      @tonylukashuk4965  3 года назад

      Hey Rick. So I loaded Rickenbacher Bass and created an output using the batch configuration method I showed in the video and it created a stereo output in the output section of Kontakt. I am assuming this was the case for you as well since you said you later tried to create a mono output (which can be done of course), presumably thinking that would fix your issue with the sound in only one ear. So I am guessing the issue is in S1. But was it a multi you created and it all worked as expected and ONLY the bass was playing in one ear? Or was it just a single instrument in one instance of Komplete Kontrol?
      But I can confirm that the instrument does work as expected (both ears) in Studio one when sent from Kontakt a stereo output. So now that I know it works fine in general, I would need more detail to recreate what you are trying to do, exactly, if you want to provide. Cheers.
