Consistently the best content on RUclips. Amazing clear explanations and no fluff. You are my hero.
Agreed
I appreciate you making things so clear it seems as though you know what we're thinking and what we want to know. You are a great instructor
Another fantastic video Mike. Thank you. Glad you are feeling better.
I just love Studio One thanks for recommending it on your channel.
What a GREAT video, 100% straight to the point, crystal clear and insanely useful.
Great stuff as usual, Mike. Thank you.
I never knew this...I'm so used to created new tracks for everything, but this makes more sense and is easier too lol. Thanks!
thanx a lot. Much better and much more complete than what I saw so far on that topic
This is a really great deep dive into multi-instruments, and very clever. Re: panning for the stereo guitar and pad, switching to Dual mode allows the entire stereo signal to come through, versus favoring left or right.
WOW! This is very helpful. Lot's a great details...nicely explained. And BTW...nice little piece of music!
Wonderful. Thank you!
Studio One is so cool. Nice video as usual.
Excellent!! Thanks!!
Thanks a milion. This solves my doubt about whether to get Arturias Jup 8 V4 or not, because it doesn't have dual or split like the original Jupiter 8, but I can see this is no problem in Studio One. Such a nice and simple exaplanation straight to the point. Tutorials like this is gold to users.
Fantastic! 👏👏👏
Thanks!
you explain so many features i didn't know about...
Well done, Mike!
just downloaded study one to try out, this might be moving fast for the 1st task, but pretty easy and your explanation is spot on! This is sweet. My guitar is not sounding as good as yours yet! I was trying Ez lineups for all except ample M.
Good job Mike as always!
Powerful.
Please, continue revealing more hidden features in S1
Very informative video sir , thank you so much
Mike, thank you again. As long as I own Studio One, I have yet to hear how the range really works to change the chord range in the multi-instrument plugin.
Great video please post more tips and tricks for studio one love your work
Thank you!
This is incredibly powerful and versatile, would this be able to be used in the show page so you could play it live
Great video, thanks. Does Studio One have something like Cakewalk TTS-1 general MIDI instrument?
Genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very Thanks from Ukraine. Good luck to you.
Could u make a video on getting all ur vst instruments in tune?? Also, is there an easy way to tune ur vst instrument to the same note as a sample?? Thanks in advance!!
Hello, very, very fine and wunderfull! Thanks so much for this. My only question is, which multiinstruments can I us with Studio One+? In the Moment, I test Studio One Pro Demo. Thankes an nusician greetings to you all from Peter Bengelmann
thanks for the video! I have a question about multi instruments for a while and couldnt find an answer. how do you filter one of the midi CCs for one of the instruments for example if you dont want the sustain (cc64) triggs the pad in your project, how would you do that?
Newbie here....where do you find these plug ins?? I would be looking for more symphonic sounds. Because I am brand new to digital recording, I can't justify the $450 price tag of "Nucleus"....but those are the sounds I'm looking for. Do where do I look? Can I " audition them before purchase?
How make Acoustic Drums only Studio one ??? Thanks...
Hi
just a question - why would you combine the instruments on one track,
why not just give them their own track, there must be an advantage?
But how to create automation inside of multi instruments?
What about EQ?
There are two specific things I can do with Cakewalk that I am looking for in another DAW.. 1). I can grab an audio track, and drop it on the project tempo ruler ruler.. this creates a full end to end Tempo Map based on the audio track. 1 step.. PT requires a lot of steps, randomly going thru the entire time map, and adjusting it per measure (or group of measures).. 2). I can create a full TRACK template.. say, all my drums and the AD2 driving them, it's midi, it's plugins, for the mix routing sends to mix busses. One click, I can import this track template into the DAW. NO OTHER IDAW can do this, that I KNOW of.. My curiosity, is do any other DAWs that can do these two things in as few steps as possible. I've been following you for a long long time, Mike, and honed in my skills in Cakewalk.. What say you.. NOTE: Fast Tempo Mapping for an entire song and sophisticated and complete Track Templates.. Any ideas?
Try Reaper.
Thanks for the tip, just watched a vid on this process, it's a lot like the beat mapper in Pro tools. So far, from what I saw, this guy is setting the tempo to each measure. Cakewalk, is drag and drop on the project Timeline Ruler, and it is done, the entire audio track sets the tempo map for all other tracks, including the Midi tracks. I'll stick with CW; it's the most under-rated DAW out there, and has been doing this since the ARA and Melodyne became imbeded into CW. Thanks, man I appreciate your reply.
Now were there just somewhere to download those presets, we might be able to get similar results. 😂
The only downside I've found with multi-instruments is that; the more intensive they are with processing/number of instruments, the more taxing it is on CPU resources. But it does tidy up the track/mixer windows.
I'm not an expert on 'automation,' but I'm wondering if having multiple instruments on one track would make it a bit difficult to use automation?
It would as far as tracks go (if I'm correct), but you can automate the Console fader plus the effects, if I recall correctly.
@@stevemcnamara2584 - Okay. I will take note of your reply and apply that tip when I utilize automation. Thank you! 🙂
So after months of testing, reading articles and so on, I can confirm Studio One still has serious midi jitter issues. What you play is not really what is being recorded.I've run many tests, with other audio interfaces, DAWs, computers, equipment, versions of Studio One. I have even done some clean windows installations, but nothing seems to fix it, so I can only say that Studio One is at fault.
I have played drums and piano parts, arps and sequencer and the Atom, but no matter what you do, the MIDI notes ALWAYS have MIDI jitter. Some notes are recorded perfectly (a few of them actually), some ohters have midi jitter, placed here and there in a confusing way.I have gone through many tests with collaborators, even programmers and technicians (we even changed settings in the BIOS, system drivers..) but we were not able to fix it for good. There is no solution to this problem. Presonus Studio is a CRAPPY Midi DAW, terrible.
Good video, but that seems like a lot of extra work. I'd rather record the parts with actual instruments.
