I have created templates on both komplete kontrol standalone, and controller editor but when using komplete kontrol as a VST the templates will not show up and i am seeing no option to import a template. any idea how to achieve this?

HI TONY thanks for a great vid one question How do i get my mk 2 s88 keyboard to send out multiple midi channels from my split keyzones???? this is driving me nuts and i want to just send to kontake on 3 different channels for bass piano and organ??? any ideas??

It's 2024, hello from the future! Still very helpful as though NI have released an updated resizable Komplete Kontrol, the vst only works properly if you have a newer KK controller!

Hello! for me the wrench as completely disappear :o i'm trying to load the same thing as you either in kontakt standalone, kontrol standalone : Grandeur - Concert Hall. No wrench to be able to copy and paste, instead it's a little cog/star above the logo! Could you verify if new updates have done the same to you! Thanks

Great tutorial! It got me thinking and so far it works for me: Created a new empty instrument in Kontakt. Has no code or samples and by default the keyboard is not lit. Loading it in Komplete Kontrol turns the light guide off. Seems to stay off even when I load up along side any stand alone VST like Pianoteq. Also seems to be working keeping lights off with Gig Performer, anything but another instance of Komplete Kontrol, in which case the active instrument takes over and guide works as per that new instrument. It does not seem to have any impact on CPU load, since I use it just to play around and practice when at the Komplete Kontrol S88. Must say, I love playing on Roland FP 10 way better. I get way less distracted with so many possibilities when close to computer 😁

So I just got komplete kontrol, kontakt, and kontakt 7, and I’m wondering why they seem similar but one has more than the other etc, is there one I should use instead because they seem almost the same?

Great guide - Thanks! and works exactly as shown here, but.... In newer versions of Kontakt the wrench Icon (edit) has been removed and editing is impossible. I managed to use it on an old file that was mapped to an older version of Kontakt, but if creating a new instrument this is impossible. As with the other comments below, why is there not an on/off switch for the lights? I'm sure they can't be doing the eyes any good.

Guess what I read on a NI forum today? “There’s a new version of the Komplete Kontrol software on its way that will be resizable.” I almost can’t believe it…

With the KK mk2 that has the dual screens, do you know if there's a way to make it so that the screens show what knobs you've linked them to in Studio One? I.e. say you link knob one to a compressor threshold, is there a way to make the screen say "threshold" above knob 1?

Perhaps it's user error, but I'm having difficulty routing multi-outputs in a single instance of Komplete Kontrol. My Specs: Logic Pro 10.7.7 Late '21 16" MacBook Pro M1 Max. Komplete Kontrol 2.9.4 Akai MPK-261 It seems like Kontrol, itself, doesn't have a routing menu or the ability to do so. Do I have to perform this through Kontakt? It's very confusing. And I can't find anything online after a couple hours of searching. What I'd like to do is, for example, while using ONLY ONE instance of KOMPLETE KONTROL, have multiple instruments routed to separate tracks for me to manipulate individually. Is this possible?

Thankyou for this tutorial, after trying it myself i realized u can change the type(button, fader, etc) using the arrow keys and switch to the next button with tab. Hope this helps to speed up ur setup

I have a question for you , you may have the answer. There is a lady spiking every time i make a change in the control buttons of the keyboard. How can i turn this off?

Not sure I follow, So, when you duplicate the tracks, it creates multiple instances of Komplete Kontrol each with the 4 instruments and I'm wondering, why not create 4 instances of KK with each one having only 1 instrument. This way, when track is focus the lights would follow and work as intended. Not sure this is really making KK work in the way I had hoped - i.e. supporting multiple instances and working with my KK S61 with the lights and all. Please help me understand.

Would have been nice to give credit to the people who actually came up with the solution on hte forum, especially D-One who posted the original solution but the video makes it easy to understand.

I dont know what's going on. I cant hear what you are saying. And what is that grid at the top of the project? Where did it come from? So far with impact all I can do is click the pads with my mouse and make drum sounds. How do I make a drum track I can actually use? I am lost.

Native Instruments is truly a mind-boggling company. Leaving their customers without a way of turning off the lights is a komplete joke (pun intended). But that joke is very much competing with the way that we can not make the browser window of the Komplete Kontrol app/plugin bigger. That is probably the very first thing you notice when using Komplete Control. You reach for the corner to resize and then you go WTF? Any half-assed programmer would be able to fix both glaring issues in their lunch break, but for unknown reasons NI can not be bothered.

You really need to learn how to make readable video. While this is interesting tutorial and I was initially happy to find it, I discovered later that 90% is unreadable. How you expect people to follow this by voice only ? Your screen is either to low resolution or you places to many objects and everything is so super tiny small, that it is really a waste of time to watch. Great idea and concept, but poor video implementation

Great, but no more possible to do the last step " save the change" a message appear to say that: "it was not possible to save in this location, This might be caused by a variety of reasons including a insufficient acces rights"... I use the last version of KK so maybe they found your hack and block the process... But as many people here, NATIVE COMMON.... Let us the choice to dont be fashed by the light guide.

Hi, thanks for a very good and informative video! Good for the CPU. Do you know how to enable the on-screen controls on the Komplete Kontrol keyboard? The lightguide works nice, but the normal instrument controls from the keyboard screen seems to disappear in my screen (it only says Kontakt). I expected the screen to change according to the instrument selected, just as when you have one instrument in Komplete Kontrol - but it doesn’t.
