I stepped on a log in swamp one time trout fishing and it had a nail in it for some reason. Went right through the boot and my foot. Had a huge hole in my foot. And yeah it doesn't feel good. The funny thing is it gets worse. It starts ok and then your foot swells and it gets really hard to walk.
That's funny as soon as I saw the abandoned water park I knew exactly where you were. It's about 6 miles from my place of residence 😂 be careful there.
Random question I’m assuming you are fishing a 2 piece rod and can carry it in a case on your shoulder? I’m looking for something similar and curious if you have that?
Don’t remember if it was Rita or Katrina that took the park out,but it was supposed to be opening up soon ( at that time ) and then the hurricanes had different plans and said THANKS MOFO
Yes more of abandoned places. Adventure at its finest, just watch out for those nasty creatures like snakes, bees etc, and always take care of yourself.
Did construction for years, and always wore sneakers. I developed a 6th sense about nails that were sticking up. Never got punctured.... Maybe lucky.... Good idea to carry your snake stick too!
Nope, just sneakers, back in the day I wore the Converse All Stars. I went barefoot all around town before getting into construction. I think now days they would make all workers wear boots on construction sites. They are just too heavy for me, I still prefer light weight shoes.... My brother Paul, who is a waterfowl biologist in Lorida Florida runs around barefoot all the time. Even chasing alligators and walking through the swamps down there. He has a PhD, and people come looking for Dr. Gray, he is the last one they expect...... PhD stands for piled higher and deeper....
This spot always has something new every time you go and explore. I really liked all the B-Roll shots incorporated in-between the catches. Those slam shady lures are great, they are the bass magnets. As always what a great video and love the weird location videos.
No, but a scarf isn't going to do a damn thing for you except make you look like you with a scarf around your face . So, do you always wear a scarf around your face to fight off the brain eating amoeba when fishing fresh water ? It's just a little bit dramatic, is all.
Wife and I drover over to Tennessee a few weeks ago and I pointed that old place out to her and said that's where my boy Payton has been making vids....she told me "No. No, you can't go."
Payton, I had to come back here, tell me what you know about brain eating 🦠 s, how do we know if a water body has them or not and what can we do to prevent them. There is an outbreak of this in my place and this is new to me. Then I remembered you talking abt em

Heck yeah I grabbed me some
I want
I want one of those
is the a virus?
@@David-n1g8u what? It's a legitimate lure company I work with.
Try the end of the jetty at surfside with some top water cast and retrieve there are some big fish out there
Maybe, I'll see if I can get out there soon
Oddly enough, I’ve never been into fishing, but I enjoy your videos
Awesome and much appreciated.
Awesome video. Love fishing in wild places.
I appreciate it, these are my favorite videos to make
Me too
You can always tell it’s so hot out there! Been there with you fishing and heat is no joke!

A true "who put that there?" moment
That's funny as soon as I saw the abandoned water park I knew exactly where you were. It's about 6 miles from my place of residence 😂 be careful there.
Yeah, it's always a great spot to film
I pass that all the time
Random question I’m assuming you are fishing a 2 piece rod and can carry it in a case on your shoulder? I’m looking for something similar and curious if you have that?
Do you think the best lures for bass varies between areas? New to fishing only catching sunfish no bass so far.
Definitely, a good rule of thumb is to mirror the most common food source in the area
Lake Charles!!
Thats what I thought!!! Crazy small world. I lived there
Great video as usual, would love see a bit more actual fishing in them though. Thanks
Not going to lie, I actually have more fun doing the exploring
Keep doing what you’re doing. This is dope.
@@camconvo much appreciated
Don’t remember if it was Rita or Katrina that took the park out,but it was supposed to be opening up soon ( at that time ) and then the hurricanes had different plans and said THANKS MOFO
Yup, that's what they do
How do fish get into places like that? floods?
Most likely
Glad you didn't get attacked by wasp this time around. I like the abandoned places locations for fishing. It's a mix of horror and fishing.
They are definitely becoming my favorite videos to make
So where did the fish come from??
Probably flooding in the area
Lets go. Another awesome video man. Lobe your channel
I appreciate it 🙏
I know where this is. Passed many times on I-10. Wish that park would have actually opened and operated.
Would have been fun
Crazy bro love it
Thanks 👍
How does fish end up there??
I had the same question. As I understand it, ducks will get eggs stuck to there feet.
That's definitely a possibility but I think in this case it's that the area flooded quite a bit over the years
Question is. How the heck did those fish get into those water park pools?
Probably local flooding
They could've got there from birds when birds try to catch fish from ocean but get their eggs instead
8:41 BRO I JUST GOT ME SOME SLAMSHADIES! I try to order every time I get a text from Joe but I haven’t been able to recently.
Catch a big one
Brother do more fishing
This is the explore fishing experience it’s too fun but sucks sometimes like this
?

Filming another abandoned spot right now 👍
What reel is that in the thumbnail?
Stung, stuck, possible brain eating amoebas, wood eating termites and still catching fish. Brave adventures of a true outdoorsman.
Yeah I'm no so worried about the termites but I'll take the compliments where I can get them
How do the fish get there.
I had the same question. As I understand it, ducks will get eggs stuck to there feet.
Probably from frequent flooding in the area
Where did the fish come from?
Flooding, most likely
Can you try using a dead squirrel for bait?
Possibly
Go bass fising with tulopia but a live one you wil be amazing by the amount of huge bass
I will give it a shot
Dang…to think they’ll just die in that small pool lol 😂 no food
You'd think so, but I've been coming to this place for two years and everyone is still here
9:24...interesting that after all this time the fan in that a/c unit can still spin when the wind is blowing on it.
Yeah, whatever ball bearings or lubricants they used clearly work
How do fish even get there
Probably localized flooding
I keep rewinding to see where the big fish was
Keep rewinding, I'm sure it will show up eventually
is that in texas?
It's in Louisiana
@@wildlifefishingshow is it that waterpark that never got built?
@100k22s yeah, they finished building it all except for the water delivery system (kind of important, lol)
Did construction for years, and always wore sneakers. I developed a 6th sense about nails that were sticking up. Never got punctured.... Maybe lucky.... Good idea to carry your snake stick too!
I think the fact that I stepped on a cluster of four nails saved me (literal bed of nails effect)
probably correct. I thought about that after. I went barefoor for several years, and learned to have 'eyes in my feet;....
@@robohippy you went barefoot on a construction site????

Hasn’t this video been uploaded before ??? Feel like I’ve seen or watched this before.
I went back to a place I've filmed before and made a similar video
You gotta be more careful. Dog. Lol Crazy place tho.
You know, I specifically looked around for safety and STILL stepped on those nails, lol
I've done the same. It's a foreign and uncomfortable feeling. Lol
Hey man I love your videos but the thumbnail was a little off I seen a ten inch bass that's all
RUclips
Sorry guy you lost me with the scarf
Oh no, I desperately wanted your specific approval, lol
Perhaps if you wanted a new subscriber first time seeing your videos. It's no big deal I get what your saying
@ianlauhon8760 you seriously think I'm going to change what I'm wearing on the chance that you specifically might subscribe?
I've actually seen another video of yours and I honestly thought I was a subscriber after the cotton mouth catfishing video. That was a good one
I've stepped on a few nails over the years.... it fking hurts.... worse the a 22 bullet , at least in my experience
Well I'll have to take your word on that comparison
@@wildlifefishingshow I was only 10 and was just a flesh wound but yeah..
Slow down a bit or you will get hurt.l was the same way. It's the excitement of the experience. Fish will use anything.
Lol, I'm fine mom
Looks like a mud bass to me.
Mud bass?
Looks like life after humans lol
Yeah, very post apocalyptic

I just passed it
Deceiving thumb nail
Yeah normally dude don't lie and has fire vids
Sorry not sorry
Yea kinda of a let down I look forward to his videos and live feeds every week kinda disappointed
You should go there at night.
Why? You would see less
True, just sounded good.@@wildlifefishingshow
You should make a only eating what you catch for 3 day’s challenge and record more catch and cooks i think that will be great for the channel 🙏🏾🎣
