- What could be swimming in the depths of this abandoned, unexplored, flooded basement? When this sewer plant was abandoned, the people might have left but the fish big fish stayed behind.

I definitely recommend this rod!
Tilapia are probably stocked to eat mosquito larvae.Lot cities stock them as babies in small stagnent waterways ditches etc to keep mosquito pops down!
Do u do personal trips with ppl?
Where are you fishing ?
😊
Take care of yourself bro, apply sunscreen, wear a wide hat, and no.. you are not being dramatic, it's good that you've thought about what you would do if you were to fall
Yeah man same I usually tell someone where ima be at & what time to expect me back at
I appreciate it 🙏
fr sun causes cancer
@@wildlifefishingshow what is a good rod for a spinfisher 10500 For sharks
I don't have any idea why are you concerned about being sunburned. While here in the Pacific where I live all men here have no t-shirts and can work all day under the sun.
I lost a friend to heat stroke, perfectly healthy man in his 30's, worked construction. went home one day, went to his room and passed out face down and never woke up, so yes please use caution when dealing with heat. Best wishes! and keep the fishing coming!
Sorry to hear. I appreciate the support 🙏
Sorry to hear that bro hope ur days good and keep going on
Another thing that can happen with heat stroke is your hands tighten into claws and you can't unclench. I was a roofer for 11 years and the heat finally got me. We were on a big building with the only way down being a steel ladder attached to the building. We couldn't get down until our hands worked. Had to build a shade fort out of building materials.
Does not sound fun
I’ve always been told heat stroke stays with you for life. Once you have full heat stroke supposedly it has lasting effect and you are more likely to suffer from it again. Please stay safe man.
I've heard the same
I can confirm that statement
That is 100% true. You absolutely are more susceptible to have it happen again easier and easier with each time. Reoccurring heat injuries are so serious that if you are in the Army and have had a total of 3 heat injuries you will be medically discharged because you have became so likely for it to keep happening. This is also true with certain cold weather injuries.
I can also confirm I also had a severe heat stroke 117* I was packed In ice to bring my temperature down I was 16 years old I'm 43 now an it feels like I'm over heating every day an I can't drink enough water
@@kennethmartin7853 Holy ever loving poop!!! 117*?!?! That is so incredibly high! You are so lucky to be alive! Your age at the time is most likely the only reason you were able to survive that, as we are quite resilient at that age. This is a serious question that I'm curious about, was there any known lasting brain damage afterwards? Or any long-term organ damage that you know of? Also what were you doing at the time and in what type of environment to cause the stroke? I'm sorry about all the questions, I'm just super curious is all.
There are probably catfish in there as well. I love fishing flooded areas, they can be highly productive. I personally avoid fishing in the heat, and fish mainly at night in the summertime. This is what I would enjoy seeing: a night fishing trip for large catfish or gar.
I think I'm going back to test those same pools for catfish
no mosquitoes at night?
Cá đó ở Việt Nam gọi là cá rô phi
Tilapia here in Brazil is very popular, it has a sensational flavor for us, its filet fried with lemon is wonderful.
They taste good 💯
I really do enjoy the out of the box, weird location content. It’s so funny because I’ve always had dreams of catching fish in strange locations. I’ve always loved those dreams. Sometimes it’s catching fish from my couch in my living room while a monster mature buck swims by or something trippy like that but your adventures actually come close to some of my more mundane dreams. Keep it up and stay cool. I feel for ya cause as I type this I’m sweltering in my house after my central air just crapped out!😅
I appreciate it 🙏
Stay cool, sorry about your air, that does not sound fun
FISHES DONT WANT TO DIE OR BE ON YOUR PLATE OR SUFFER.HUNTIG IS EVIL AND WRONGStop exploiting animals and harming them and abusing them and putting painful hooks through their mouth. eating them it’s sick and wrong and twisted. That chicken that sea urchin doesn’t want to feel pain and can’t defend himself and no animal didn’t want to die I bet if it was a dog this double standard is sick and wrong animals are not property you have no right to touch her or force her and treat her like she’s not a person or her feelings and how she feels doesn’t matter. be cancelled this is a sick and godless society all animals deserve to live in peace and not be killed by selfish people if someone doesn’t want to die don’t kill them it’s wrong nobody deserves to die this is disgusting and you need to go vegan that’s how Jesus designed it to be nobody should be forced to die nobody should have to go through pain. It says in the book of Enoch animals will judge people who treat them poorly. THESE ANIMALS ARE IN DIRTY CAGES LIKE BLACK AND WHITE SLAVERY TIMES and no freedom but born to be labeled as food and property of someone else. Stop the animal holocaust and African slavery with animals.
I also dream about fishing inside a house, or in my backyard (in the dirt, lol) sometimes! Weird..
Relateable 😂
Same here although weirdly its fishing onto the carpet in my own living room. Always catch something though!!!@@fokmertek
Unless you drank a gallon of water a day, in that heat. You don't have enough. Landscaper here. Breathable long sleeve and a big straw hat. Also little things like fruits, unsalted peanuts. Banana and oranges. Easy to carry. They will both help with cramps and exhaustion
Solid advice
Fish eggs can cling to aquatic birds and get transported to another body of water. That’s probably how the fish got there.
Quite possibly. This area was also completely submerged during Harvey.
I love the weird abandoned fishing!
I love it
@@wildlifefishingshow The allure is that these places are usually difficult to get to. You need to drive a ways and then 'hoof' it. However, since no one goes to these places, the fishing tends to be very good!

That tilapia looked small in the water until you picked it up and it was absolutely massive. Fascinating video man.
9:50 thats what happened to me when i started river fishing. Im from Biscay, north of Spain and i havent seen almost anyone fish in these rivers. When i started i was using sea lures and had no idea of the fish that i was supposed to catch. But after some fail trips and learning from the enviroment, lures and the fish i started to catch more. And then i remember the fishing techniquethat i saw in some Yt videos (mostly from ppls of the US) to just use some split shots a single hook and an earthworm and casting like using a artificial lure. It turned crazy effective, mostly for non-predatory species (that are the most common fish in these fresh waters).
Btw, i usually catch common barbel, Shiner-like fish (Loina) and mostly European eel.
You find the craziest spots man, I love the randomness of it. Another great video my friend, stay safe out there.👊
I try, glad you enjoyed it
He didn't find it lmao
What a great video back at that spot that hasn't seemed to disappoint. Those tilapia were massive and it's always a great feeling to figure out how to catch a lot at one spot. Loving the cool locations and weird bait videos but all the videos are great regardless.
Thanks, I've only ever hit home runs filming here, so I'm definitely going to think of as many ideas for this spot as possible.
Too hot to go fishing in Southern Ok. Really too hot to do anything, but I get in a little work before about 11 am. Great video once again. Stay safe out there.
Yeah, it's really rough out there.
I have been an athlete all my life, and I am now 72. You are correct in that once you have an adventure with heat exhaustion, you are more prone to having it again. Heat exhaustion is uncontrollable cramping. Heat stroke you go into convulsions, and can die if you don't get to the hospital like instantly. My adventure with heat exhaustion put me in the hospital over night and they IV 2 units of fluid into me. You need to replace your electrolytes! Salt is the #1 electrolyte you lose. If you just drink water, that makes it worse since all of the electrolytes in your body are water soluble, and you are basically flushing them out. That condition is called hyponatremia. I hate waking up at night with cramps..... Best product I have found is Precision Hydration, who have carbonated tabs that you add to water. You can choose your sodium levels. Being carbonated, it gets into your system far faster than the thicker Gatorade. The people that run the business are all marathoners, ultra runners, and ironman types. No association with them other than being a happy customer. Take care of yourself!
I will definitely look into getting a bunch of that 👍
Can u take this if ur just fishing just wondering? because I am in up state NY I'm 20 years old so I think this is not a bad Idea for me to look into
One thing they ask you is how heavy of a sweater you are. Me, I always was a very heavy sweater, and always had lots of white salt crystals on my skin and cloths. People like me need extra help. For most, Gatorade is okay. The one that I liked before I found PH was the neutral Pedialite which is for little kids. The colored and flavored stuff was too sweet for me. How much you need depends on a lot of things like how much you sweat, the weather, and how long you are out side. At the very least if you are cramping, have some salty potato chips along and water. Some running stores will carry carbonated tabs, Fizz and Nuun, but they don't have different sodium levels. Me, I salt everything, and take the highest level sodium tabs PH has. Important if it is going to be a long day, take some snacks. If you run low on energy, you can make a LOT of mental errors.
@robehippie Thanks for the tip pal 👍🏻
@@robohippyI sweat the exact same after 8 hours of work my clothes and face will have salt all over them, I’ll definitely be looking into that man thanks
Nice vid! Crazy spot to fish! Just remember, you should always have a net handy when you hook into those big fish.
My wife had a heat stroke 7 yrs ago and was never the same. She has seizures because of it and can't drive anymore. Don't mess around with that man. Im a retired ff/paramedic and my wife is a retired nurse. Dont mess around with heat emergency or heat stroke. Get you a wide brim hat and drink plenty of fluids. Stay b safe. We all enjoy seeing ur videos and don't want anything to happen to you
I appreciate it
I've caught a lot of tilapia on small lures. Mostly jig heads with small grubs in red/orange or tiny stick baits 2-3 inches long. People constantly tell me about how tilapia are herbivores only and used for weed/algae control but I've seen them eat other small fish, tadpoles and such and caught an insane number of them on worms. I've gutted more than a few to check their stomach contents and found small fish and frogs.
I’ve seen the same. They will eat anything that fits in the their mouth if it’s a bright color. Caught many on micro square bills.
I'll definitely be going back to try lures on them
Same I caught some on a crappie jig using a fake minnow
Up close that tilapia is huge easily bigger than 5 lbs
Great day of exploring!
You should probably try water with lemon
Solid advice
Great Video and great advice on the survival part. I never thought of something like this sending coordinates out to your significant other so they where you are at in case of emergency. Thanks for the great videos keep them coming.
I like to know the cavalry might show up if I need it 👍
Very nice! thanks for taking us along.

I almost passed out in the heat before and it's rough
That was the biggest tilapia I've ever seen, hope huge tilapias catch huge gars, good luck on your gar fishing...be carefull with that heat...

Sooooo glad no ax man came out, or alien hiding there or or predator!!!!!! That Tilapia is MASSIVE!!!!!❤😂 BBoy, wish I had your nerves! Great videos 😅
The idea of fishing in places fish shouldn’t be just excites me like no ocean of lake fishing never will ❤❤
Awesome
Beautiful fish. Great videos.

Urban exploration and fishing is great content. ✌️
Thanks, it's some of my favorite stuff to film
Cool video man.
I've heard stories from men that lived to fish in my home town. About catfish just rising up and then sinking back down. They say they were bigger than the boat they were in. Divers that worked on the dam say fish in the water are big enough to swallow a man easily. I've always wanted someone to come here and explore. We have the Coosa River, Weiss Lake, Terrapin Creek, Yellow Creek, Little River Canyon all in the same area. It's a fishermans paradise. Located in Northeast Alabama. Cherokee County. It's a nice vacation spot. Bring the family and see if you can find our river monsters😁
It must have been incredible to see the river system in the early 20th century. I can't even imagine.
I’m currently living vicariously through your videos while hiding from the heat inside 💀this is such a cool spot though, and even cooler to see you actually pull fish out of it
I appreciate the support! I got worried after failing to catch fish in the usual spots for about an hour (edited out) but the tilapia delivered
If you’ve had heat exhaustion you may want to consider not going alone. I’ve effectively gone blind because I was too hot before. Pay attention to your hearing going out and seeing colors.
I'll keep it under advisement
Nice spot !
Also, keep some ice towels in your car. Small cooler with ice and water, put a couple towels in it. Great way to deal with heat issues, put on your head and neck. Put your wrists into the water, will help you cool quickly. We did this when I was an athletic trainer in HS and college and i mandate them on my construction sites. I imagine if you get a tiny cooler, insulated bag you could bring an ice towel or two with you on the hike for emergency too.
Solid advice
Also, have read if you are going someplace by yourself like that you should update your phone VM greeting with your location so if your phone dies or you can't make a call, people calling you can still know where you are. I usually carry one of those small GPS emergency beacons, not the one that you can text from or anything, but need to start doing the VM thing in case I get in a situation where I can't get to the beacon
Man, I am praying for you 🙏🏿. Love your videos
Thanks

small tip when lifting objects like that plywood even rocks an logs.. try lift away from ur body your legs an lower body is vulnerable to strikes from snakes and any critters under the object.

What pound was your fishing line and hook size?🤔 those were some nice tilapia.
It was 20lb line on the green rod (which I had brought for bass, originally) and 10lb line on the Pryme rod.

Yeah I got a bad case of heat exhaustion borderline stroke while fishing the Connecticut river. It was a hot mid July day, heat index over 100 and I was wading through this spot and was catching fish and getting hits all day. The river opened up in this one spot and there wasn't any shade to be seen. Luckily my brother was with me and he drove me home and I ended up just passing out on his couch.
Good thing you had a reliable friend with you 👍
Love the vid
Much appreciated 🙏
I live in Newark Ohio and I've dealt with 100° heat before i remember having 100+ degree temperatures in June 2012 and yeah it was pretty brutal but the good thing was I've never had heat stroke or heat exhaustion but I was so tired though
Yeah, it sucks the energy right out of ya
What a beach
I love your videos and hope to see more and I hope you have an absolutely great day.
Thanks
Love it ❤ those were big fish 🎉
Thanks 👍
I’m from Australia, over here you can’t lift up a peice of wood like that and not find deadly snakes living under there. I was nervous when you turned that wood over. One time I seen a row boat at the edge of a creek I was fishing near, it was upside down on the edge of the creek. I thought I’d take it for a ride, went over and flipped it over and found 6x coiled up large red belly black snakes (deadly) all waking up and going in all directions. I dropped it and ran like the wind. It was like a fight or flight reaction. My brain made the decision to run as soon as I seen the snakes before I even thought about it. It was weird, like primal instinct took over.
what a beautifull tilapia
Yeah, there's loads of them out here
Man I been borderline to heat stroke and passed out on pavement in Vegas in late August. Fortunately my troop was an oak tree and threw me in the back seat of the contact truck and took me to the base hospital. I got packed in ice and got 4 bags of saline pumped in. I can't take extreme heat for too long anymore
Glad you're ok

Our local lake used to be absolutely infested with tilapia! That's about as big as ours got. They were supposedly vegetarian fish but very territorial.
Most tilapia species are 'advertised' as herbivores but are truly omnivores.
@TheCaptainbeefylog Yeah, they were stocked back in the 1980s, supposedly to control hydrilla, and weren't supposed to survive the winter. But in winter, they just moved to the hot water outlets at the power plant. Big Oops! 😬 30+ years later, they're still here but thankfully less plentiful.
Holy tilapia Batman 😳😳😳😳😳 super nice

Those tilapia are pretty happy with the duckweed on the surface. They might taste good from there if you like tilapia. The bluegills too.
Be careful with the heat. It's no joke and it's getting worse. I like Body Armor drinks instead of Gatorade, it tastes better to me and comes in better flavors. The coconut water is good for you too. Also maybe take some kind of float to go there. A blow up toy would work, even a doll 😂.
Don't think I've had Body Armor drinks

Damn that's a huge tilapia
You know, I dont know why people are more excited to catch tilapia? I hate to say it but some of the tastiest blackend fish plates Ive ever had has been big tilapia that size out of Coleto Creek. Sometimes they will hit small crank baits while bass fishing and I always throw them in livewell. I think they get a bad rap because of some of the poorly farm raised fish that can have a bitter or bad taste. The freshly caught tilapia from lakes that I have caught have all been great. White, moist, mild/clean flavor; just how I like my fish.
There's an author of African hunting literature named Peter Hathaway Capstick, and he was always adamant that fresh caught tilapia was the finest tasting fish on Earth.
Love the glasses bro. Looks cool 👍
