Great introduction to Darcy and his two beautiful Plymouths. Thank you for posting. Darcy is very well known and respected in his home base of Edmonton , Alberta racers, and we love to see him occasionally testing at our track. If you are fortunate to meet him at a US track ask him about the pet names of his "twins." :)

I haven’t been to a NHRA event in person in 19 years now. My dad bracket raced back from 1970-2004. He bought and restored a 1971 Nova that he would not let out of the garage for 20 years sadly. He passed away this past year and now the car belongs to my brother and I. We would not need a lot to make it into a G/SA car at this point, which I am not sure how realistic it is to happen. Every extra Bobby Fazio video I see makes me want to go!

Boy I love those Max Wedge Plymouth and Dodges! I raced Super Stock 340 cars back in the early 70's in Ohio and those Max Wedge cars were tough to beat and a joy to watch! Keep up the great work on those pieces of automotive history.

The NASCAR rule pertaining to "current year" cars had nothing to do with Richard Petty winning as much as the dodge boys would like the world to beleive it was. It was the factories concerns about "win on Sunday, sell on Monday". They couldn't sell the new model if everyone was running 2-3 year old body styles.

I can't imagine there are many factory cams with more than .520 lift.. 🤔

Interviews are Very Enjoyable to listen to. I can't help but wonder how someone can afford to own and race two cars. The cost of his transporter and fuel alone has to be astronomical not to mention the investment in the race cars. It doesn't appear the payouts for Stock/SS are enough to cover even a small portion of the race weekend, and that's if you win. I just bracket race a 9 sec car at my local tracks and do not run NHRA events. My question, is it possible to get any return on investment racing in NHRA Stock/Super Stock with even one car, let alone two cars...?? Hey Bobby, this could be an episode for you to do on the cost of racing NHRA Stock/Super Stock vs. return of investment. 😊

There are Stock and Super Stock cars that are much more costly to own and maintain than others. Cars like these clearly require more investment then a Gen 3 Camaro or a Foxbody Mustang which can both me run in Stock or Super Stock. Winning a national event these days pays out about $6-10k based on how many stickers you have on the car. Winning a divisional event pays about $4k in division 1 where I am. A good talking point though.

This is my passion that I worked years and continue to work long hours to afford to race. If I was relying on winning to pay the bills it won't ever.
