Love the welded exhaust hanger in front of the "muffler". Yep, the FE and the FT look almost alike, but not a whole lot interchanges. Not sure if that was really keeping with Ford's slogan "better ideas" or not. FT's are pretty bulletproof, but so were the FE's. You are absolutely right about carburetors and sizing. Back in my day, everyone said that an engine with a 2-barrel carb would be more fuel efficient than any 4-barrel carb and that simply is not true. A properly sized 4-barrel carb will provide much better throttle response and provide good fuel economy so long as you are not constantly pressing the gas pedal to the floor.

Nice #hawktuah at 18:23.
The pinnacle of civilization
Fix, customize and keep. Those rigs are sweet!
Nice truck Luke, your a real mechanic and all
Great way to start my weekend. Thanks Uncle Luke
That's nice bud, would love to own that truck! 👍
I like the way it just sits there and idle’s and says that it’s ready for work.
In my opinion, one of the most badass trucks I've seen.
Carter made a great carb which is what the Edelbrock AVS is.
I have raced AFBs,AVS.and the Carter thermoquad and they always made my Mopars scream.
I watch the first few seconds of your into and could hear your mind think”I wonder why my back hurts some time”. I love watching your videos and your creative thinking of how to solve a problem and come to a resolution. Reminds me of watching my Grandpas fix their cars in the fifties when I was a youth. Like I always say Luke you have an old soul. And a good heart. Take care. Oh yes and love that truck and wife was right that semi look wheel trims were stupid
I liked your truck. Diffinately thought it was worth more money. You always do great work on your vehicles Luke.
Runs good captain. Popped right off. Looks like experience counts.
I love your Maverick I have a 75 Maverick, I'm trying to fix up. And I'm trying to get my dad the truck he used to have 77 f100 with a 300 inline 6 👍. Love your channel bro👍👍
I just now realized, I wasn’t subscribed to your channel 🤦♂️. What uh bum….. love that truck man.
The coolest pick up on the RUclips.Great work thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
If it wasn’t for the maintenance cost of such a large truck (fuel, tires), I would love to have an old 80s/80s f750. Our water truck and service truck at work are both 82 f750s, and they’re pretty cool.
Luke this is a way cool truck and I really wish I could afford to make you an offer on it, but having said all of that, this is your channel and you really don’t have to apologize to anyone for anything. If you have smug self important haters on here who would criticize you for grammar, well then they should really go elsewhere.
I would like to say one other thing. Dude quit being so self-deprecating. You’ve got no reason to put yourself or your truck down. Your truck was very cool and you actually know what you are talking about on your channel.
Before I did the LS swap on my 82 c10 Squarebody. I installed a new AVS2 1906 on the 355 sbc it had in it. I was really impressed with the annular flow set up. It was much better carb than the well adjusted Qjet it had on it before. But now if i ever build a carbed engine i plan to go with a ATM Carb. Specifically the OldMan'sGarage ATM Carb.
Hi Luke! Very cool video sir. Love that truck and think she was worth more, but hey, what do I know. lol Thanks for sharing! Cheers from Motown/Dearborn.
I saw you in the Mav today! on 35W in MN. Your car was running nicely and in much better shape than your videos reveal. You passed me and I had to explain to the girlfriend that you are famous in my little world. Good to see that you are actually out there in the real world!
She called me a fangirl :P
I went to the metallica concert Friday night in Minneapolis 🙂
I'm serious when I say in videos that the maverick is my daily driven car, surprises me everyday how well that car holds together
