I absolutely love this production!!! Team Detour did such a phenomenal job. Thanks so much for capturing this element of my life that makes up a large part of WHO I am… My CREW and my crewcabs… Happy Tears from this grown man and I am not ashamed 😢😁
Good build except you really need to install shoulder belts. When upgrading a car that didn't come with them, I just add a second manual adjusting belt. I live with chronic pain thanks to a drunk driver breaking four vertebrae in my back, you really don't want to...
It's a shame that the neighbor who complained didn't take the time to learn about Roman and his trucks. That's their loss. At least your wife approves, that's what counts! I wonder what they thought when Nicole and her crew showed up? I love it when vehicles become more like art, that describes your trucks. Great video Nicole. Roman, thanks for sharing
I realized that there really are only three people’s opinions that matter to me… my wife and my kids hahah, especially when it comes to the vehicles. That one particular neighbor was so narrow minded and I can’t be more content knowing he has relocated 👏👏. The day he moved it was like I won the lottery
Huntington isn't what it used to be , now old people come out and complain to the city about anything they don't have or can't do. I hope the goal is to keep Huntington Huntington not transforming into another Newport
Nicole, what makes this show and you so special is you are a very honest down to earth person who really respects not just the "cars" but the people and their stories behind them. The way you interact with this family and them with you, really indicates/shows how good of a person you really are.
Hands down, Nicole and her team were instantly family Jeff!!! They made my family and I so comfortable it was so easy to not feel like we were in some spotlight… it was so natural and it was such a PRIVELEGE. I feel so lucky 🍀 to have this done… I have a forever memory for my family and I for years to come!! And it will be enjoyed long after I am gone I am sure of it
Of all the vehicles NJ drives on this channel, she always looks incredibly cool, calm and in charge the bigger they get. She OWNS this huge crew cab when behind the wheel!
10:16 - Is it just me, or is that transfer case support member missing a bolt on the top left? Looks like it's sagging and/or canted awkwardly. That truck is friggin fantastic!! I WANT ONE!! I cannot imagine how much money is in that rig, but it's immaculate!! So happy you made this guy part of your detour.
Bro, i don't know what you do for a living, but God has definitely smiled apon you and your family, im a ford guy also, i love your whole ball of wax, you my friend are very deserving, thank you for sharing.
Nicole, you really captured to true essence of Roman and his family. His down to earth nature is refreshing. I truly enjoyed watching my son build this truck and having Roman come to little old Longview to help. Ryan has come so far in his creativity and skill. I'm looking forward to the next great build.
Yeah, man. My parents started me in Mom's 1960's Ford Hippy Van, Dad bought a '78 Ford F 150 from Grandma's cousin, I used to ride in the bed of his '84 Ford pickup under the cap on 498 mile trips to downstate Michigan. We started with an old Ford tractor on our farm, and have a bigger Ford tractor now, (that won't start), and we built a steel plate bed on the old '78 Ford after the first bed rusted off. Then we upgraded it's chassis. Lots of Fords.
I would be lying IF I said I was always that way… years of maturity and learning lessons to realize my Ol’ man KNEW exactly what he was talking about about the entire time hahah
Wow, what a collection Roman has and more to come no doubt. I am impressed that people not only let you but want you to drive their vehicles, many thanks for another great episode.
There is no show that makes me sit, grin, and chuckle like an idiot as much as this show! As usual, the "Like" button just doesn't capture how much I truly enjoy Nicole Jhonson's Detour!
I agree so much!!! I wish I could TAP TAP TAP all day long. The fact that I was in happy tears and chuckling myself as a grown man with no shame says it all. Detour rocks!
Now I gotta get off my butt and finally do something with my Old MN's 67 F100 4X4 long bed. He bought it in 68. I learned to drive in it and his 61 GMC. My oldest son was conceived in the Ford. Dad was known as Ike at the Idaho National Engineering Lab where he was Captain of the security force when he retired in 85. Started out there in 53 when he got back from Korea as a Patrolman. Think I'll leave the "patina", get plates that say "IKE", and put the beast back on the road while I can still drive. (I'm 70, with cataracts now...) Enjoyed the show!
I prefer the vids of people and vehicles that are more DIY, but this man's choice of vehicles and his vision, his family, it negates that. Excellent video, great people! Thanks! Now head to the east coast and drive some cars where my friend is the master painter, Trans Am Worldwide. Tallahassee FL.
First episode I have ever watched, and I am hooked. I love that you brought all of Romans family along and encouraged his wife to learn to drive a standard shift. Giving the Coyote a workout was super cool. Love that his son names all the vehicles.
Roman and his family are an amazingly fun positive energy crew and his trucks are over the top. Thanks for sharing the trucks and his passion for them.
This is a wonderful video. Nicole you have an amazing enthusiasm for these videos and make the builder/owner feel validated for the efforts. It was really nice that the family got to be part of the video, lovely family. Roman brings his family along with his passion and is creating great memories. Well done all
I have major respect for Nicole's ability to nerd-out on the details & specs. I'm eyeballing a 1975 F100 that's on the "start" end of a project like this.
Thanks Nicole, crazy ‘bout that Mercury, very cool! I love the unibody Fords from the early ‘60’s . I had my eye on one up here , the owner sadly passed away and his family sent the truck to the crusher, not knowing what it was. I’m still looking. Excellent content !
Being a Ford Tech for 48 years all I can say about the 4×4 is WOW Absolutely so well done!!! Just love the Patena on the cab and box the underbody seriously, love the divorced transfer case just everything from the frame to the exhaust ect. The low rider out of this world both are out of this world you have a rare talent man be proud of it!!!!!
But the look on his little girl's face in the back seat looks like she's a little worried or has something to worry about. Of course she's cute and adorable, but what a happy family.
Love that he's making memories with the kids. My memory with my granddaughter was when she was around 4 yrs old and I took her out in my Mazda Miata with the top down and we were cruising the back roads at a pretty good speed and she shout out to me to pop a Hemi papaw 😅😅. Well she's 18 years old now and we look back now and then and get a good laugh. Thanks Nicole for sharing this experience.
I never would have heard of this man, his family, and his trucks. There's so many cool people in this world, and you connect us all, Nicole. Thank you❤
@Keepnitclassic likewise, my friend. I'm digging out the 'ol 1970 Camaro RS in my garage. If all goes well, she might go for a spin tomorrow now that I've got a few jugs of Sunoco 112 Supreme 🔥
@Keepnitclassic got that covered Klipsch is the only way to go! My Ford is a kitten with the original 223 straight six. Keep on doing what you love to do brother!
WOW, I'm completely speechless. Both are absolutely gorgeous but that 350 hits it for me. I was hoping he'd say something about selling because I'd be owning.
Another interesting vid as usual. I have never owned a Ford in my life. At 76 I am finishing up my last car. A 66 Plymouth Fury with the Poly 318. Unintensional but had just about everything else plus foreign, Lotus, Bentley and all the vintage sports cars.
Great story, when I got married all I had was a 1970 Honda CB750. I had to trade it for a car. Had a 1970 Plymouth Duster. This was 1977. Oh, super cool trucks!
I'm watching this from Marquette County of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. My Dad was loaned a single cab version of this model Ford back in the late 1980s. It started as a refrigerated long-box, then a restaurant got the box. The chassis was shortened, and a heavy winch and towing trestle was added to make a logging skidder of the truck. When Dad got it, there was only one seat 💺 and the driver's side door was missing. I threw a beanbag chair on the floor to sit in, because it never went faster than 25 mph. It was great!
I was half expecting Nicole to pull over to the side of the road, get out of the truck and tell Aftann that she was going teach her how to drive it. Roman has a very cool family.
What a lovely family with some crazy trucks! It never stops amazing me how a Ford V8 sounds like a Ford V8, my dad had a 85 mustang and still hear the sound of him backing into the garage. I’d love a second video with the Porsche 911
I'm in Baltimore, Md. and just started watching Nicole for about a month and I love the show. I love her enthusiasm for all different kinds of vehicles. Both trucks are awesome and I don't know which one I like better, both sounded amazing.
I resisted starting to watch you because (honestly) I thought you were just a "pretty face." But I was wrong. You are a knowledgeable fan who happens to be pretty. All it took was watching this and the Pantera video to see that. Thank you for top notch content!
Dear matthewcr... I highly recommend to watch the video about the awesome light blue VW bug with the incredibly strong Subaru engine in it. After that you definitely know why I was hooked on! Misses Johnson is all natural. I'm simply not able to believe that she turned 50 yo this year. To me this amazing "girl" looks 20 years younger. Best regards, luck and health in particular.
What song do you think it was singing?!? The way Nicole drives, it would appear like it’s singing some heavy metal like Metallica or something hahah.. sounding like a rocketship
Nicole, thank you for highlighting Roman, his family and his trucks. I love old skool Ford trucks myself but I also like their old cars. Beautiful work on those 60s trucks. Watching from Spencer, TN. Now I’m going to head out a drive my 74 Gran Torino.
I absolutely love this production!!! Team Detour did such a phenomenal job. Thanks so much for capturing this element of my life that makes up a large part of WHO I am… My CREW and my crewcabs… Happy Tears from this grown man and I am not ashamed 😢😁
Thank you for letting us share your story...we loved getting to know you all!! Glad you like the video!
Them yuppies don't care and don't want to know they know it's not a BMW or range rover
Exhaust is crazy
Good build except you really need to install shoulder belts. When upgrading a car that didn't come with them, I just add a second manual adjusting belt. I live with chronic pain thanks to a drunk driver breaking four vertebrae in my back, you really don't want to...
Spectacular rides for sure! Love the old Fords!
Behind most custom builds, there is a loving and patient wife.❤
We agree!!
Ain’t that the truth! Or in Nicole’s case a very supportive husband 👊🏾
It's a shame that the neighbor who complained didn't take the time to learn about Roman and his trucks. That's their loss. At least your wife approves, that's what counts! That's an awsome fleet, you'd be welcome in my neighborhood anytime 👍
Love the " keep it crusty but make it trusty " look of these trucks !
Awesome...thanks for watching!!
I love that… I may have to use that one someday… Crusty BUT Trusty
it's a catchy tagline!!
Nicole, what makes this show and you so special is you are a very honest down to earth person who really respects not just the "cars" but the people and their stories behind them. The way you interact with this family and them with you, really indicates/shows how good of a person you really are.

Nice vehicle
She's absolutely charming.
That sound coming from that truck… absolutely perfect lol
We know...the sound is amazing!
Like a rocket
I love it. The 5 gallon gas can turned into the fuel inlet is a really nice touch. Those are some cool people.
Yes...we agree!! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks so much!!! It’s always better if accessories are functional 👊🏾
The owner family seems like sincerely good people. I bet they're awesome to hang out with.
Great family vibe. We need way more of that.
We agree!! Thanks for watching!!
I agree!!! Family is my every reason for more seats, functionality, and safety with these old rigs… they give me a reason to keep these things coming
Of all the vehicles NJ drives on this channel, she always looks incredibly cool, calm and in charge the bigger they get. She OWNS this huge crew cab when behind the wheel!

Nice trucks. Looks like high quality work on them. Love that he’s got his family into the cars and trucks, bet those kids are gonna be BIG car nuts!
Oh man, I am creating car monsters… daughter wants a Pink early Bronco & Nash is like his dad, he wants about 15 different cars and trucks hahah
Art is very subjective. Them are some beautiful peices of work. Hats off to Roman. 🥇🥇

I threw a beanbag chair on the floor to sit in, because it never went faster than 25 mph. It was great!
Thank you for sharing your story...we love it!!
I was half expecting Nicole to pull over to the side of the road, get out of the truck and tell Aftann that she was going teach her how to drive it.
Roman has a very cool family.
👍👌👏 Same here, definitely!
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Thank you for watching...we appreciate the comment!!
Oh man! There would be a good chance the clutch woulda been burned up and then nothing left for the episode hahahaha!!
That was FUN!! (Recommend that people listen to this through a nice pair of headphones.)
We're so glad you enjoyed watching!!!

Best female pilot in the game
this truck is a piece of art work... I'm a Dodge guy, but I'm standing up and clapping.
We're so glad you like it...thanks for watching!!
I love that he saved the " requesting please park somewhere else " 🤣🤣🤣
Oh hell yeah!!! Those notes were priceless😂😂
What a lovely family with some crazy trucks! It never stops amazing me how a Ford V8 sounds like a Ford V8, my dad had a 85 mustang and still hear the sound of him backing into the garage. I’d love a second video with the Porsche 911
Hahah! So funny how folks catch the details hiding in the backdrop… nothing sounds better than a big V8 roar n’
Thank you for watching...we appreciate the comment!!
What a great family!!!
That is very appreciated brotha
I'm in Baltimore, Md. and just started watching Nicole for about a month and I love the show. I love her enthusiasm for all different kinds of vehicles. Both trucks are awesome and I don't know which one I like better, both sounded amazing.
Thank you so much for watching!! We're so glad you're enjoying our channel!!
The old fords are the best.
Glad I found this channel. Subscribed.
Fantabulous trucks, my guy resto mods like I do 😂 Thanks to you & him for sharing 🙏🏼
Awesome....thanks for watching and subscribing!!
I resisted starting to watch you because (honestly) I thought you were just a "pretty face." But I was wrong. You are a knowledgeable fan who happens to be pretty. All it took was watching this and the Pantera video to see that. Thank you for top notch content!
Thank you for the nice comment...much appreciated!!
Hahaha! Beauty and the Brains, Frank is winning 👍🏾👌🏾
Great video! Great couple and Nicole your husband is a lucky man!!
Thank you...glad you enjoyed watching.
'mommy, who's that strange lady under daddy's truck?' 'Oh that's just Old Mrs Johnson geeking out over diffs again'
Haha!!
Hahahah right?!? Neighbors were scratching their heads 😂
Watching from Laguna Hills. Nice seeing you all roll through my stomping grounds. Now I’ll be looking for these on the road!
Thanks for watching from beautiful Laguna Hills!!!
That Coyote engine freakin’ sings!?! 👀
It sure does!!! Glad you like it!!
@@NicoleJohnsonsDetour When are you going to build a car Nicole?!?
What song do you think it was singing?!? The way Nicole drives, it would appear like it’s singing some heavy metal like Metallica or something hahah.. sounding like a rocketship
Nicole, thank you for highlighting Roman, his family and his trucks. I love old skool Ford trucks myself but I also like their old cars. Beautiful work on those 60s trucks. Watching from Spencer, TN. Now I’m going to head out a drive my 74 Gran Torino.
Thank you for watching!! We appreciate your comment!!
