No-Go Zone in Belize City called Jungle! 🇧🇿

  • In today’s video I explored “The Jungle” aka Pickstock Street in Belize City, Belize. A neighbourhood that strangers told me to avoid due to gang violence and crime.
Belize is currently ranked #6 in the world for highest murder rate with an average of 25.65 murders per 100k residents. I was pleasantly surprised to find many great people, and stories that I will share with you in this video.
I would appreciate any help from my viewers. I’ve set up a GoFund me account with a goal to hit $2500 Canadian. That money would go towards:
    -fixing the playground-adding a fence
-getting the basketball courts up and running
    -purchasing balls
-two inflatable pools for the kids
-cost for labour (we would pay people from the neighbourhood)
Also, if you would like to send a special donation to anyone seen in this video just simply describe what they are wearing and a timestamp when they time in the video they appear. Then the amount you donate will go directly to that person in cash.

This is the first time I've seen a video bringing such detailed awareness to the marginalized parts of Belize, and even I was very heartbroken knowing what was happening within my society. I wasn't even aware that some of our communities were ignored by our government even when reaching out for help. But I really thank you for making this information known concerning this particular community.
P.s the little boy at the end first asked you (translated in English) "why did you come here?", Rather than"where did you come from?" As I assume that's what you thought he said, since you answered you're from Canada. And then at the end asked(also translated in English) "where are you going?" As you were walking away. I just wanted to point that out, because I don't think you understood him.😁

No matter in what part of the country you are, the people you meet and talk to have a much better grasp of their history, politics and have a sense of humour as an armour to deal with the shitty deal they've been dealt. I wish I could travel there and help. As soon as the adoption of my youngest 4 is done and they have their passports I hope we can go and help. Thank you for sharing their story.

I was a bit skeptical about watching your videos especially about the one with Title "The Swamp people of Belize". Im a Belizean that lives in Belize and I'm fortunate to Travel to the US and after seeing this video, I like the highlights your giving about the good people in Bad communities!! Thank you for bringing out the Good my brother!! Much love and respect 🇧🇿✔👌

Thank you for your honesty Mike and I don't blame you for being skeptical. Many RUclipsrs are simply here to make a buck, and they don't care who they hurt, or which country they make look bad on their way.
