The Palladium shows sold to NBC as summer schedule fillers had American hosts - They certainly would not have wanted Jimmy Tarbuck LOL

I am 14 right now and it seems everyone in my generation is forgetting this legend. I make sure they know to keep his spirit alive. What talent!
Nice to see a comment from a young fan. 😎
So nice to see the younger generation discovering and appreciating Roy's awesome talent. 👍
@@TonyDonnelly-ajd15 It certainly is
More like they've never been exposed to it vs forgetting. Good on you kid for understanding good music.
@@kevinmorrissey9398 Yes, that's what I was going for 😊
It’s quite incredible how good he was. To be able to sing that well live no modern audio devices for him just his pure ability. He’s simply urreplaceable
Takes me back to the 60’s when Roy Orbison sang Pretty woman.
Those were the days when life seemed so innocent.
None of the greats used foul language in their songs or rapped anything.
It was pure wonderful music & singing with great memories
Exactly...and there was no awful "auto-tune" either. It was pure talent. Roy is a legend.
There’ll never be another Roy, a sweet humble man with the best voice ever.
MERCIIii 💞
Roy Orbison had a unique voice, which is why he didn't have others performing his songs.
Can you imagine going up on stage after him?? The Beatles found out early..
His barely moving lips/mouth yet has a strong and not quiet voice. so unique.
Thanks for watching and commenting Dwayne
I just thought he sound quieter than in later years.
Roy's voice was pure silk.
Thanks for watching and commenting, so few viewers of this video do, no idea why.

What a talent. He showed men a different way of thinking. A man never to be forgotten.
It shouldn’t be possible that he sounds so much like the record. Everyone trying to make music should be studying this.
We are lucky to live an an era where we can revisit these performances
“It’s Over” is just one of the most incredible songs and performances ever.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟1966 live with none of technology gimmicks that todays artists have' to be appreciated
By fans those days had to have talent, and Roy had it all songwriter, guitar player top class singer, his own image made him stand out from the groups even admired greatly by Elvis n Beatles he was a real
Superstar 🌟🕶🌟🕶🌟🕶🌟🕶🌟🕶
I Love Roy Orbinson, even Elvis mentioned that Roy had a great voice.
Elvis called him the greatest singer in the world.
I'm 75 years-old and Roy was and is still the best singer of all time. Thanks for the video ❤
You must have forgotten Enrico Caruso.
Elvis said he had the greatest voice in the world!! 4 octave range and his tone was unmatchable. I get goosebumps every time I listen to him and everyone said he was the kindest most humble man. Thanks Scott for compiling THIS for all of his fans!!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I am glad you enjoyed this Jan 🙂
And Elvis weren’t no slouch himself
@@ScottishTeeVeey ok
Bruce Springsteen too said he was the best.
Roy Orbison was and always be one of my childhood heros, I have been listening to him since I was in 5th grade. I graduated college in 2023 and I'm still a daily listener!

I never get tired listening to Roy Orbison singing as he does it so effortlessly with no tonsils on show or back teeth, and has a magical strong voice, and is one of a kind. I grew up in the 50's so enjoyed the birth of pop music. Sadly he had a mixed life as per this video and died way too early, but his songs live on.....
LOVED HIS VOICE BACK THEN. STILL LOVE HIM TODAY . AMAZING VOICE ,
Their will never be another voice like his.Great talent.
Agreed, I can't think of anyone like him
The quality of his voice in a live performance......close your eyes and it could be a studio recording. Have loved Roy and his music for 40 years....an amazing man.
No one can ever replace his wonderful talent.❤
I was just eight years old in 66. Unmistakable unique voice. Even Elvis Presley praised his singing. RIP Roy

What a golden great era for variety entertainment.
Seeing all those acts on stage elegantly presented is a wistful peek at the past.
Orbison was/ is a treasure.
I saw Roy a few days before he died. Am so glad I got to see him. What a great voice and hall of fame songs he had. Such a nice and kind man. Great talent
Oh wow, your lucky.
Roy could rattle it off "live" as good as anyone.
A very underrated performer thru the years, an amazing talent !
? He was never underrated
It always amazes me how effortless he is . He hardly seems to open his mouth 😊
He is/was so wonderful, great tenor etc. I miss him very much!!
Absolutely brilliant such a sad loss when he died , also very sad when his wife died in that motorcycle accident poor man

Penny Arcade is awesome :)
This song makes me remember my first girlfriend Susan s she passed away when we were very close so all these years ago still have a great time music value for us
Roy for ever!!!
Saw him at Batley Variety Club ,May 10th 1970.Then again about 1977 at Wakefield Theatre Club.Top notch!!
I love how he gets the lyrics wrong right at the beginning.. doesn’t make a big deal, just pulls the ‘oh shit’ facial expression.. and continues on as the master he was :)
I'm not sure that it's a mistake. I think they might have asked him to play the song shorter to keep the set to a certain time constraint, because the band go straight to the middle part after the verse, and he doesn't signal them to do that. If they weren't expecting to cut the song short in advance I'd expect them to play the second verse as usual and just have him sing the other lyrics, but they ALL go to the middle bit with no signalling. It's just a bit weird that the backup singer sang the other lyrics.
Good point but I'm fairly sure that it was a mistake. The backup singers sing the original 1st verse, but being the pros they were, Quickly adjust to mask Roy's error. And of course his cute little whoopsie face is give away.
@@lapelcelery42 Agree. The orchestra would not have launched into the “Pretty woman stop awhile” section if it was planned to sing the first two verses. I guess there is a debate over whether Roy was should have sang “walking down the street”, rather than “won’t you pardon me”, as it does sound as if Bill Dees, on backing, sings “walking down the street”. Either way it’s a fantastic performance.
Beautiful lovely Roy! ❤

Si. Lo comparto. Hermoso y encantador😢
SO EFFORTLESS 😎🎸💪🙏🙏
Soaring into the ether, Orbison's tenor and those wonderful strings.
I love Roy. Great songs. Always great performances right up until the end. But...and this is not a criticism...it never looks like that 'voice' should come out of his mouth. It's amazing. Meh, perhaps just me... :)
the amount of views on this video is a crime against humanity.
man had the voice of a fallen angel

Wonderful performance, and especially nice to see it in color. While 'Twinkle Toes' is still not a personal favorite it comes across much better in this live performance than the released record, which is over-produced and has a loud, annoying bass guitar riff. This version is a lively, energetic rocker that was fun to watch, even if I still think it's B-side material.

Thank you for sharing the Legend live.
SIEMPRE. EN. MI CORAZÓN♡

I would love that
This is Brilliant, thanks for sharing ScottishTeeVee.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Superb
Divino.!!!!❤❤❤
Great artists don't need electronic gimmicks to sound good live. Elvis, Roy and Jim Reeves sounded better in the flesh than on record.
Class 👍
Thanks
