Roy Orbison the greatest voice I ever heard! George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.... I have been on this earth almost 70 years and this group is the greatest I have ever heard! Roy Orbison had a beautiful voice! I really enjoy their music! RIP Roy, George and Tom Thank you all for such wonderful music!!
I rolled past 70 last Nov.
You are correct about Mr. Orbison.
An operatic voice extraordinaire.
And the Wilburies were the greatest supergroup in history.
Truly these members passed on. They sleep till the return of Jesus 2 bring home God's children the traveling wilburies will ride again in the kingdom of God.. no offense here. Or there. Clean & with power in their songs as well.
Their voices all 2gether were what was great. Each a great voice United with other great voices. GREATER BC THEY WERE ALL 2GETHER. THEY WILL RIDE AGAIN IN GODS KINGDOM. OMG THANK U SO MUCH 4 BEAUTIFUL VOICES IN AGREEMENT. THE POWER THE ENERGY. B4 GOD. 4EVERMORE.

Thank you so much Lilly!
I could not agree more.
I just turned 70 and I so agree with you! At least we can say we remember this wonderful collaboration of the best musicians ever!
Some of the greatest talent ever gathered together. No egos, no fighting, and no drama. The likes of this will never be created again.
This will definitely be true. They were the best.
Brilliant
Legions in their own time. Simply natural talent and gifted people singing together. Different types of music background singers singing together Awesome music 🎶.
Just all talent.
No not on this realm
it's too bad that the Wilbury's will probably never be considered for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, if any group deserves it, it's the Traveling Wilburys.
Absolutely!!!!!!!!°°°
That's irrelevant.
They are in OUR HALL OF FAME.
so very true
Absolutely!❤️
@@JohnMoore-xf5wy
YES! Individually they are but many us believe they were even greater as The Wilbury's. That would also include the drummer Jim Ketner.
The billion dollar quintet that arrived from nowhere. Made two awesome albums in 20 days in total. How real music is made. Real musicians, composers. We won't see the like again. More sadly, hear it.
After all this time I am afraid I have to agree. At least we where born in the era to experience this.
@@JJsiN84
I never thought I would live to hear this level of talent and be able to pass its links along to the next generations,
They had the LIGHT INSIDE. BESIDES, they brought years of experience that can't be repeated. Dylan, Petty, Roy, George, Jeff....more? Impossible!
The Million Dollar Quartet made their record in only 1 day! 😂
Wonderful talent in this group! You couldn't dream of better!❤
If Roy Orbison's voice doesn't give you goosebumps, then you have no idea what good music is all about. I said what I said
Agree✌🏻💜💐
Agree 1000%
Pura Vida, Costa Rica, buenisima musical!!
He’s voice is divine❤️🙏💜❤️

THE ONLY REAL "SUPER GROUP", EVERY ONE A SUPERSTAR, NO EGOS.
JUST A BUNCH OF SUPER TALENTED FRIENDS MAKING MUSIC,RESPECTING EACH OTHER.
They even changed the group name to be able to record together.
Check out the Highwaymen.
Cross, Stills, Nash & Young!
Loved it all.
Loved it all.
The talent in the Wilburys was unbelievable. Every one of them a master in their own right. And now, 3 of them are lost to the ages. Only to be remembered in our hearts and minds.
They live in our hearts. Their greatness is unmatched.
Forever. ❤️
They will always be around
There's a sign that we need to crank these guys up everytime we get around anyone that calls themselves musical. Teach them so they can teach others and we can keep this great music alive.
The same could be said about the highwaymen. Country's version of a super group.
All remarkable in their solo careers and esteemed as a group.
The song was written and produced by Jeff Lynne. Jeff also played and did backing vocals on this track. No egos just friendships among the 5 great Wilburys. The best Super Group ever.
I've always been thankful for the Wilburys - they're the Rock n Roll equivalent of when The Three Tenors got together, without the snide looks and competition. The way they cooperated and grinned through it all - why can't we make the whole world work together like these guys? Alright, New Religion time!
The Wlburys were the greatest espically with Roy.

First concert I ever saw in Omaha, Nebraska in the late 70's-Jeff Lynne is one of the finest musicians ever & ELO one of the finest musical groups!
Elvis was once asked if there was any artist he would not follow on stage. Without hesitation he replied, “ only one. Roy Orbison.” That’s all the validation you need about Roy Orbison’s greatness
I remember when Elvis said Roy Orbison was his favorite singer. Those are 2 of my favorite singers
And they just put all that music in a few days! Crazy talented!
I'm so glad you commented. I love knowing Elvis said that about Orbison.
Roy: Genuine
Or your ears.... for the validation part. Just sayin'
Good Lord! I just cried my eyes out listening to this. It's like George, Bob, Jeff and Tom got together and said, "let's see how high we can push him." And then...........Roy started singing. Full stop, lights out, NO ONE has ever sung the way he did. God I miss music like this.
Me too. Geez....

Didn't appreciate Roy when I was a kid what a fool i was he was brilliant
Roy may have left the building
But his voice
Never has
What comes across to me is five guys who have made their fortunes and now coming together and having fun. The enthusiasm of a garage band but with great talent. Just having Fun.
Mr Petty summed it all up. He said " I can't believe Roy Orbison is in my band". & Bob said after he died, so young, " He was an Opera singer"!
No one will ever even come close to having a voice like Roy Orbison. Absolute perfection. All that talent in one band, but in this song, he stands alone.
Absolute legend, God bless you Roy for being.
Oh yeah, you got that right. Gives me chills listening to Roy. 💞💐🌹
Elvis agreed; he said Roy had the purest voice of any singer of this time.
No one except Linda Ronstadt. I would love to hear the two of them do Blue Bayou, simultaneously..., if it could be blended.
Well , he stands with Jeff really, who built this tower of song for Roy to stand upon and be noticed
Imagine having George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynn as your background singers, sha la la. RoyOrbison. What a fantastic group. I'm so happy that George followed his dream.
Ojalá pero no 😢
Losing Tom Petty and George Harrison broke 💔 my heart.

Elvis called Roy the greatest rock singer of all time.
And he was right!
Some of the greatest talent ever gathered together.
Have you noticed that Roy can sing in all ranges with abosolutely no effort whatsoever. The voice of a musical genius. A voice that Elvis envied.👍
All musicians should have been envious of Roy Orbisons vocal ability. Never will anyone match it in this lifetime.
Natürlich haben wir das schon lange bemerkt😊... Er musste auch seinen Mund nicht so weit aufreissen, wie ein Tenor, um hohe Töne zu erreichen
No he can't. He's dead.
Elvis reached high notes too. Easily. What are you talking about...
@@stephaniegilcher4577 Comparing Roy Orbison to Elvis is a terrible injustice to Roy. Elvis never was the King of anything. Nothing you can can say will change my mind.

Roy Orbison would only be 84 today. And yet he's been gone for 32 years already. Such a crying shame.
Seeing George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty standing in line doing the "sha-na-na" backing . . . amazing.
Each song by these guys has its own unique quality. Each singer has his own unique voice, but together, they ROCK!

Hei qeree t,,,,
Elvis would never do a Roy song, cause he knew he could not out sing him
Roy Kelton Orbison (April 23, 1936 - December 6, 1988) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads. His music was described by critics as operatic, earning him the nicknames "the Caruso of Rock" and "the Big O".

George has tons of back up vocal experience, obviously. But Tom, Bob and Jeff? All frontmen. Listen to that gentle accompaniment. Brilliant! Not a hint of ego anywhere.
I love the Jeff Lynne/ELO influence in this song.
oh yes this sound is 100% Jeff Lynne. Only wonderful with the voice of Roy 😍
As George describes it, "well we heard Bob was in town and had recording equipment so we went to his house....." The ultimate "garage band" !!
There's also a video of Jeff Lynne describing how George said to him let's start a group and they kept coming up with names like Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison, as if it was so absurd that they could even do that. But I also heard the story how it was by chance that they wound up in Dylan's recording studio.🤔
And also how they got Tom into it because they needed to pass by his hous3 to pick a up George's guitar. Crazy!
@Sapien Man Lol
@Sapien Man I prefer truth over facts! 😅
I remember seeing an interview with George where he said there was a box in Dylan’s garage where they were recoding with a label that read “Handle with care” which was where the idea for the song came from.
I miss George Harrison too, along with Tom and Roy.
As long as you remember them they will always be alive.
Me too Sheryl😂
When music was music
They said when Roy sang, even on a day the others weren't needed, they'd all show up, to watch. Amazing.
That is respect!
They obviously were deeply hurt when he died, right during making an album, but George said they would have had Roy sing more lead if they knew they were going to lose him. Did you know Roy turned down the king of rock title cause he wanted his friend Elvis to be the king.?
One of the most beautiful things I have heard in awhile
There was more talent in that studio than there is now in the charts. Love, love, love this!
More talent than anything in the last 20 years.

I think when Roy was singing, he made it seem like he wasn't even trying. Just so natural. What range. What a voice. Will there ever be another like him. And his tragic life, full of despair, and then, Gone Too Soon. What have we missed since his passing...
Hey, he had his brothers. George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty. Have you seen Black Night, his birthday party? Roy made out OK and had lots of real love. Look for the real Roy. He was a king. Every damn great musician came to his last party and loved him.

Yes sadly missed....as is George and Tom....
Yup! Just image the music. Maybe Beethoven, Mozart and the Wilburys. Who knows.😄Live music has always been my favorite and I got to hear some of the greatest. I grew up in NYC, went to the Brooklyn Fox, where Chuck Berry first danced across the stage with Lucile, his guitar. Saw Roy. Got to go to Lennon's last birthday party at a place called HOME, across Central Park from the Dakota. Lived around Dylan and when I saw him at a place sort of looked over him. I told him that some day school children would study his lyrics, just like we studied the great poets. Then he got the Nobel Prize. I worked in "the best Blues Joint in NYC" when some guy from Esquire wrote about it and ruined it all. Sundays, little kids would jam with the grownups and teach them a lesson. I was truly blessed. Musicians love playing with other musicians and listening to that is my idea of heaven. Thank God for ears.
The whole story of how these Unbelievable musicians were able to come together is one of the All Time Great Stories of Rock and Roll.. It could Easily have Never Happened, and against all odds, it probably Shouldn't have happened, if for no other reason than because of all the legal issues involved.. And yet sometimes Mere Men are able to Move Mountains, and now the Whole World is a better place because of the Magic that came from this Incredible Collaboration.. It seems to have been their Love and Respect for one another, and especially the level of Admiration for Roy, that was the underlying Secret for the Success of this project..
