The whole story of how these Unbelievable musicians were able to come together is one of the All Time Great Stories of Rock and Roll.. It could Easily have Never Happened, and against all odds, it probably Shouldn't have happened, if for no other reason than because of all the legal issues involved.. And yet sometimes Mere Men are able to Move Mountains, and now the Whole World is a better place because of the Magic that came from this Incredible Collaboration.. It seems to have been their Love and Respect for one another, and especially the level of Admiration for Roy, that was the underlying Secret for the Success of this project.. Somehow, Someway, this was So Much More than just a Happy Accident ! There has never been another Band like This One.. Thank you Brothers... Lary

I first heard Roy Orbison when I was 15 years of age in 1960 and can't remember him sounding better than this. An effortless, crystal--clear voice. He was revived by the Wilburys but sadly passed away before his time. Despite his tragic life, he brought joy to so many. Rock on in heaven Roy. RIP Roy Orbison, George Harrison and Tom Petty they're jamming in heaven with many other legends. Well that's something to look forward to.
Yup! Just image the music. Maybe Beethoven, Mozart and the Wilburys. Who knows.😄Live music has always been my favorite and I got to hear some of the greatest. I grew up in NYC, went to the Brooklyn Fox, where Chuck Berry first danced across the stage with Lucile, his guitar. Saw Roy. Got to go to Lennon's last birthday party at a place called HOME, across Central Park from the Dakota. Lived around Dylan and when I saw him at a place sort of looked over him. I told him that some day school children would study his lyrics, just like we studied the great poets. Then he got the Nobel Prize. I worked in "the best Blues Joint in NYC" when some guy from Esquire wrote about it and ruined it all. Sundays, little kids would jam with the grownups and teach them a lesson. I was truly blessed. Musicians love playing with other musicians and listening to that is my idea of heaven. Thank God for ears.

@Michael M. I believe in earth wind fire air and spirits Their spirits will always be around as well as their music Besides I've always understood that if there is reincarnation you come back as a different person however at times you can remember your past lives ✌❤🌻
Roy Kelton Orbison (April 23, 1936 - December 6, 1988) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his impassioned singing style, complex song structures, and dark, emotional ballads. His music was described by critics as operatic, earning him the nicknames "the Caruso of Rock" and "the Big O".
I think when Roy was singing, he made it seem like he wasn't even trying. Just so natural. What range. What a voice. Will there ever be another like him. And his tragic life, full of despair, and then, Gone Too Soon. What have we missed since his passing...
Hey, he had his brothers. George Harrison, Jeff Beck, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty. Have you seen Black Night, his birthday party? Roy made out OK and had lots of real love. Look for the real Roy. He was a king. Every damn great musician came to his last party and loved him.
@@kathleenburns7732 Who doesn't love Roy Orbison ?
ROY ORBISON THE GREATEST VOICE I EVER HEARD ❤️ ♥️ 💜 💙!!!
The most heartbreakingly beautiful song I ever heard about going back to the love you left behind, only to find that they've moved on and don't need you anymore. I always get tears in my eyes when I hear Roy Orbison's operatic tenor. Rest in peace, Roy.
I always get tears in my eyes when I see his guitar rocking on an empty chair in the End of the Line video. 😢
And it's sad to know we've also lost Tom Petty & George Harrison, but we still have Jeff Lynne & Bob Dylan, now Bob must be getting up there in age too by now, but no they'll never be another Traveling Wilbury's, not in my lifetime.
I am moved to tears myself
Roy Orbison’s voice is soulfully beautiful. Love love love!

Elvis Presley said he greatest voice he ever heard Gap
I can’t believe how Roy Orbison could still hit his falsetto high notes so strongly as he aged. Those high notes are the first to go.
The Traveling Wilburys: so much talent, so much fun.
Love this Man xx
RIP Roy Orbison. A very beautiful man.
Is impossible forget this music and this Greatest singers. They live for ever in my heart. Patricia from Argentina

lyf45mo amazing musicians in one band. Forever! 💕
I'm old enough to look back with some regrets. Lots, actually. Love, life and true happiness just seemed to avoid me to some extent. But to have been alive when this music was created is a true blessing.
I hear that - beautiful songs memories and yes, regrets and tears. You’re not alone.
Yes! Garage bands everywhere that grew up to be an amazing generation of musicians. The background of our lives. We were too busy being “free” to invest wisely in relationships. We can only go forward.
Those words you wrote are so poignant and true that they could have easily been mine .
@@thomthumbe I’m replying again to your post after reading other replies. I did the same thing with my life that you did although I have been successful in my education, bought a home, had a child and a couple of husbands. I screwed up many more things than I succeeded in. I’m 70 and still working at the bedside as an RN. There are not words to describe how exhausting this is. Apparently this is my retirement plan. I would rather be camping across America. after taking care of other peoples loved ones for over 40 years, I will probably die alone. I work really hard on being grateful and investing in other peoples lives outside of work. In desperation to find meaning I have found comfort and wisdom in the teachings of the Bible.
Thom, this was musical talent, God-Given. Bless, Roy, what a beautiful gentleman! Rick Dwayne Rumpff, Celina, Ohio USA.
This is the definition of a supergroup, outstanding vocal by Roy Orbison.
There Will NEVER Be another "Supergroup" like this Again.
Elvis said Roy had the best singing voice he'd ever heard.
I feel every word Roy Orbison sings.
A bonus is the once in a lifetime collaboration of these masters.
All these men with their own outstanding vocal styles standing back and giving the lead to the one who has the one of the best voices in the rock and roll era. Truly the superman group.
The Wilburys helped me through Covid and beyond. Listening to all of them is joyful.... still the best in 2023...
These are no words that can express just how magnificent Roy Orbison's voice is!!! Just unbelievable!!! Love that dude so much!!
We will never hear the like again. Roy Orbison will always be a musical legend and be eternally missed.
,
His voice just takes me to another place.
An amazing group of LEGENDS! You'll not find music like this anymore.
The fact that these fellas chose to give us a gift, simply amazing. The likes of which will never be seen again.
I have loved Orbison's voice since I first heard "Oh, Pretty Woman" in the summer of 1964. His voice gave me goosebumps then and still does. The Traveling Wilburys was an absolutely fabulous group of extremely talented musicians who also had good chemistry together. RIP Roy, Tom, & George, who are gone way too soon.
I love the Jeff Lynne/ELO influence in this song.
oh yes this sound is 100% Jeff Lynne. Only wonderful with the voice of Roy 😍
The right people at the right time singing the right songs .... never happen again. I was so lucky. RIP RO, GH, TP
So much talent altogether! Roy Orbison the best voice ever!
Can listen to this song all the time! The most amazing band ever! March 2021, who's listening?
I'm listening. Had Roy lived a little longer, who knows what this incredible band could have achieved. They needed him and unfortunately his premature death reduced the magic. But he and they will be remembered forever and I'm educating son's and grandchildren to respect their music.
It’s August 2022 and I am still watching this amazing video. I won’t stop ever……..
It's 2024 im listening ❤
Я слушаю в июне 2024 и восхищаюсь!❤❤❤

The best voice in Rock and pop ever
Saw Roy live in London, 30,000 fans wow. He was the greatest.
Roy Orbison, greatest singing voice Ever.
Miss you Roy, George and Tom. It was so good to have all these amazing musicians in one band. I'll never forget the first film clip .
The great live forever
One of if not the GREATEST collaboration of musicians....EVER‼️RIP George,Tom and the GREAT Roy Orb‼️
❤️🥲
And Jeff too. He was incredible also
There will be so many men who would have dedicated this beautiful song to a lost love. Thanks and Rest in Peace Roy, George and Tom.
The song was written and produced by Jeff Lynne. Jeff also played and did backing vocals on this track. No egos just friendships among the 5 great Wilburys. The best Super Group ever. Jeff Lynne worked in the night to rearrange this song so it could be a very good one. Tom Petty said Jeff is the best producer he has ever known. ❤
ELO was so unique. Jeff Lynne is amazingly creative. Doubt the Wilburys would have ever existed without his vision.
@@paultaylor2585 Well said!
Yessss!! I knew I heard Jeff's influence immediately!!!
They just always forgot toention Jim Keltner, drummer wilbury
I am not surprised as Jeff Lynne is one of the most genious musicians we have ever had
RIP the Traveling Wilburys . What a voice by Roy Orbison.❤🎉😊
Not all of them have passed. Jeff Lynne, and drummer Jim Keltner are still alive.
@@carolynmaynard3694 Bob Dylan is still alive as well!!!
@@gwyngriffiths3669 He has such a unique voice.
My Dad is 92 and has been a Big "O" fan since forever. Lost his wife over 3 years ago and has missed her every day since. Rest assured, this song will be turned up at his funeral. Bless the Wilburys for reintroducing the world of his beautiful voice.
Lary
Celebrate this Incredible Legacy of some of the Greatest Musicians of our time ! Never Forget...

Yup. Impressive. Very, very, impressive. Someone else "said": a staggering amount of talent. Yup.
This is the music that dances in my head...
Restores my soul ...
The best thanks guys
When George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne & Bob Dylan all committed that "GEE, Roy is here, WOW" he was the icing on the cake.
Roy orbison no one will ever match him this song alone is Roy's voice .absoulte amazing..legends. won't see the likes of true musicians again
Love the Wilburies. Two left!!!
Listened to the Wilburys forever. Never dates and pure talent.
No egos. Just pure talent
I don’t think that they are underrated, I just don’t think many people understand genius. The Wilbury’s will be around for all time, their music is the most beautiful relevant sound that has ever been laid down on record
What do you think
He was called the Big O for a reason - such an incredible voice and range!
Roy Orbison had such a fantastic range but made it look so effortless. That is a true genius.
Roy Orbison would only be 84 today. And yet he's been gone for 32 years already. Such a crying shame.
Roy Orbison’s singing touches my soul.
That classic Jeff Lynne production...sounds so damn good
Magnificent! A voice that appeared once in a thousand years.... and then left us all too soon. That high note at the end of this song is something I will never forget.
Roy Orbison, possibly the best singer ever & he makes it seem so effortless!
Roy Orbison's voice gives me goosebumps. RIP sir.
That's what Jeff used to say when hearing Roy in the studio.
Smoke in your eyes too ?
Roy had such a beautiful voice. He could make you cry within the first 20 seconds of a song. Also love the ELO treatments from Jeff Lynne on this one.
There is no one that has ever had such a unique, beautiful, special voice.
When i die and go to heaven I'm going to look him up and just set a listen to him sing with a voice like that he went straight to heaven the devil would become a angel again to hear this voice
Yes sadly missed....as is George and Tom....
